You're right about not putting beans in your chili, Chef! I really can't say enough about how good your production value is with these episodes of yours. Content, quality and presentation are top shelf as well. Really enjoying this channel since recently becoming a subscriber. Oh, loved the drone shot opening. :) Cheers!

Hi Jenny, I just have to say my wife and I have been getting a laugh about you chasing the little martin around the kitchen, the little rascal was having a great time. lol
We are so happy we discovered your channel. We do a lot of adventures in BC on the roads but great to see our amazing coast. Great video. Fish and Chips looked great!
Just found this great gem…”Jenny Adrift”! I’ve watched my first two episodes and love, love, love! I love to cook, too. Looking forward to the journey! Peace be with you.

Welcome back Jenny,...Maybe in your next video you could explain the need and or purpose of the Huge Boat Lift if all of your boat work is taken care of at other marina's...or is that because the Lift was not working...I'm interested in knowing why the need for the Boat Lift, ie maintenance of the Lodge's boat fleet et al...
Hello - I stumbled upon your channel, and my husband and I are hooked. We find your videos relaxing and entertaining at the same time. I am in awe of your work ethic, your strength and your immense beauty. Thank you for sharing! ❤
Just found your channel and am so excited to subscribe. I'm not far, just on south Vanc Isl., so happy to see BC content and especially given your location. Have a great few days off. Look forward to seeing if you find out where those pesky Martens are coming in!
My heart sings when I see another one of your vids coming through..visually beautiful and lots of unexpected surprises including one that starts with the letter M..and so well paced ..thanks Jenny for sharing!
Awesome videos of the opening. I’ve done a few seasons in Haida Gwaii at a lodge called Langara Island Lodge was amazing experience. Brings back a lot of memories doing a few seasons out there working alongside with the staff chef.
Hi Jenny, what a pleasant surprise to find a new video this morning. You had a very cute and naughty little visitor in the morning, so cute. We had a few wild pets when we lived in Smith Inlet, the two best remembered were a pet otter and a pet deer. The otter fondly named Oscar showed up one day with pups so we had to change the name to Oscarette. The deer, Speckie, we rescued after a wolf killed it's mother. We brought it up from a fawn. It used to like to walk up and down eating the roses that my mom loving grew in half barrels in front of our house. Thanks for another great video, I will share it.
Not the roses! Haha what wonderful pets to have! I would love to snuggle one of these martens but I do t think it feels the same about me! Thanks for sharing your wonderful story!
Jenny! Just stumbled onto your channel! Fantastic! I binge watched the Rivers Inlet videos. I grew up on the west coast. Spent a lot of time on the water aboard my grandparents 70’ wooden ketch sailboat. Your videos bring me back to my childhood memories on Lasqueti Island. I’ve also spent a fair amount of time in the Queen Charlottes. Keep up the great work on the videos! I can’t believe you don’t have more followers! Very entertaining. Thanks for sharing !! Cheers. Doug from Tsawwassen BC ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your story! What a wonderful childhood you must of had with your grandparents. Thank you for watching and I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the videos!!
Thank you so much. This is one of the coolest lodges on the West Coast. so much history here and the owner takes such good care of us. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. Take care.
Thank you so much. It’s definitely interesting work, this lodge specifically. There’s so much history here and the scenery is so beautiful and we are so well well taken care of by the owner. It’s definitely a dream job. Thanks for watching. Take care.
Good work again Jenny! It's amazing how hard you work, cooking, cleaning, chasing Marmots, fishing, and even getting sea sick doing that, and still, Getting er Done! Sounds like with the plane coming in that your off on some well deserved down time relief. Good on ya. All the best, and keep the videos coming!
Hi jenny..wish the lodge wasn't private..would gladly pay to come up for the peace& quiet..lol..the Martin problem u guys have..surprised there's no big dog there..l..great vid as usual 😁👍
Part of the reason I’m sharing these videos is to show people this amazing place that most will never get to see. It’s been private for quite a few years now. The Marten problem will slow down when the three big Newfy dogs get here next week. Thank you so much for watching !
Nice of you to mention Rob and Nola from Dawson's. They are so nice. Corn is great. Try Garnishing with Fritos on top. Love your magic edits. I especially like the zoom way of doing it. Channel doing great more people enjoying the magic.
My wife Monnie and I have a daughter and son-in-law and two grandchildren living on a 50 ft sail boat on the sea of Cortez and we will be spending a lot of time down there between salmon fishing around Port Hardy. Thinking we might spend some time at your lodge. We are just so impressed with your video production!!! Thank you!!!
Another FABULOUS video. I get so excited when I see you've posted a new one. I've told on my expat Canadian friends about your channel and hopefully they will become subscribers. Your food had me drooling over that fresh fish. The cinnamon rolls werent too shabby either. You work with some great folks. Would love for you to get Ted, and his 2nd in command(?) dont remember his name, in front of the camera and tell us about their back story, lives, etc. I think that would be an interesting topic. Looks like your subscriber numbers are growing a bit too. Love to see it. Thanks again.
Just subscribed to your channel , I am very excited to go back and watch all that I have missed. You are a very lovely woman and entertaining too boot. I will be around and good luck with those martins, there sneaky bastards. I also spent years cooking for folks around Wa. and Montana in the hunting camps ! Keep on with it girl !!!

Thank you so much. I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. The fish were particularly beautiful that day. I’ve never seen such a redfish before. It’s called a Vermillion. I’m learning a lot up here. Thanks again take care !

I always had fun when I got off my boat and was still compensating for the wave action. Interesting videos, love seeing video from coastal BC. Love the ocean.
Thank you, Robin already left the big city and I’m in the interior in a little spot called Quilchena. I met up with Brent who just got over the border yesterday from the states so I’ll be spending my days with him which I’m really looking forward to. Thank you for your support through the months. I really appreciate you.
Hi Jenny , good on you, inspiring stuff, most of my adventures revolve around tropical locations, diving fishing etc leaving the Gold Coast of Australia next year to head to Canada and toughen up a bit (lol).
Trick with catching a bird use a non Terrycloth towel over the whole bird and it’s wings th egg n scoop them up making sure to expose their head out from under the towel. Works like a charm, I’ve been handling mostly parrots in 30 years but I’ve used this technique in wild rescue situations from a huge seagull to a tiny hummer that flew into my garage one summer and was bashing himself into the windows.
@@jenny_adrift keep up your hard work Jenny you will make it, you are a real gem and sweetheart stay amazing and please tell all the crew at the lodge hi for me
Fishing is definitely a big bonus for us all while working up in Rivers Inlet during the summer! Sometimes we also get a helicopter ride to a glacier or a beach. We also do BBQ salmon beach days. We are so spoiled up here!
@@jenny_adrift Sounds wonderful Jenny glad they treat you all well! Question....is this a private fishing camp or can you book trips to your camp? I am a retiree and have a bucket list item titled "West Coast Salmon fishing trip" still to fill. If not... can you recommend one that you might know of?
Very cool I’ve always wanted to visit Yosemite. Thank you so much for leaving me a comment. I truly appreciate knowing that you’re enjoying the videos. Take care.
I can definitely bring it up to him and Christian, our maintenance man. I’m not too sure what a PV system is, but I’ll check it out. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment all the way from from Germany!
PV system is a photovoltaic system, i.e. electricity produced by the sun. It could be that PV is a more German abbreviation... In my house I can cover 80% of my electricity needs with it. It just has to be bright. This should work in Canada too.
I just discovered your channel and love it. Its calming like Tony Fleming Venture. We travel the inside passage during the summer on our boat. We know the area. Your drone footage is simply outstanding. What model drone are you using? Keep up the great job.
Thank you so much and I wish you luck on all your adventures!! I fly a DJI mini 3 drone and I absolutely love it! It can be difficult sometimes hen I’m flying near cliff as I lose control and have to slowly bring it back closer to me but I love what I’ve been able to capture!! Thanks for watching!
Hmmm….Pine Martens still giving you grief….dogs’ll do the trick….I recognize Dugout rocks…frying the rockfish whole is also a great way to cook and eat them. You get more return from each fish and the little bones become edible as well…I would recommend that as something to try with the crew.
I love your channel! My mom's family grew up at Good Hope, I've been a couple of times, and I know Ted well, your channel is close to my heart! I love watching the adventures you go on, and your videos are just so well edited! I'm curious to ask, do you have any advice with drone videography in westcoast environments? I love the seals footage you got. I once had my drone attacked by seagulls in a harbour (I had to buy a new drone after that!) and so I've been a bit wary of taking it out flying in cool westcoast BC locations ever since. Do you have any insight to share with me about that? Keep making awesome content, you're super awesome, Jenny Adrift! #1 fan right here!
Wow, thank you so much. You are too kind. I actually lost my drone last year when trying to land it on a boat and it just fell into the chuck. I was extremely sad and it took me some time to get over the fear of losing my drone again. All I can say is that you should just keep practising and build your confidence again because there are some amazing shots out there waiting for you to capture. What kind of drone do you fly? Right now I’m flying DJI mini three which I really love. I have had seagulls and swallows go after it. Luckily, nothing has happened yet. But there’s always a chance. You just have to take the chance. Thank you for sharing your story in this comment. I wish you all the best.
Thank you so much for your response Jenny, and for your encouragement!! I’m flying a DJI Mavic Mini also, they’re awesome little drones and the photo and video quality is beautiful! You’ve inspired me, I’m going to do some drone practice today since it’s beautiful and sunny. Keep being awesome, looking forward to following along on your adventures.
Love your videos. Seems like a dream job. What is your typical clients that show up? It seems like Good Hope is more of a eco tourism lodge vs a dedicated fishing lodge? Everything looks really well kept and in good shape compared to some of the fishing lodges i've seen along the coast. Very cool.
Thank you so much for this wonderful comment. We call it a wilderness lodge and the guests we have up are invited by the owner as it’s a private lodge. Our guests are mostly his friends and family. Thanks for watching!
At 03:50 - 'discovering' that the unlabled can is tomatoe sauce; what about making some chicken parmesan? Also curious, since the lodge is effectively 'off-grid', how is waste (gray & black) water handled there?
Thank you so much, George. I fly a DJI 3. I’ve captured so many amazing things in the last couple years and I can’t wait to see what I’m able to capture this year. Thanks so much for leaving in comment. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos.
Hi Kelly! I started last year with the GoPro 11 and a DJI mini 3 and this year I’ve added footage from my iPhone 15. The shots are incredible and it’s always in my pocket. Thanks so much for sharing at watching!
We had a look under the building and are filling in a few holes that we’ve just noticed. Hopefully that will keep them out. Once the dogs arrive the martens won’t enjoy living around the cannery as much so hopefully it won’t be a problem much longer.

I just love your videos. You all seem like such a wonderful group of people and work very well together. What a huge asset to Good Hope Cannery. I’m from the coast and watching your videos and the trip from the mainland up the coast reminds me of the trips l took with my Dad on his boat, it also relieves my homesick feeling a wee bit. I sure do miss it. Such a beautiful and wondrous place. All the best to you
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I’ve had a few people commenting saying how homesick they are for the West Coast and I’m so glad you found my videos. The staff here are beyond exceptional . After working together for years and months at a time we become more like a family. Thank you for your lovely comment. See you on the next video.
@@jenny_adrift actually I have! I’m currently living in the Chiricahua’s in SE AZ . Only a couple of places to eat around here. Sky Island restaurant is one and they serve chili with sweet corn mixed into it. Just don’t like it I’m originally from Texas and we make chili without beans though I have added beans as a filler and that’s ok. But never add corn I believe it’s a northern thing in the US. The couple that own operate the restaurant are from Wisconsin I believe. I definitely enjoy your videos!
Hi Jerry! I get asked this question often actually. I definitely found my dream job! When we have positions available they are posted on the website called “Indeed”. Take care!
Also, you don't have cell service however you do have internet so why don't you use a VOIP [Voice Over Internet Protocol}...get yourself a headset with microphone and you can call all over the world to any cellphone anywhere...might help with the loneliness that comes with being away from family and loved ones from time to time..or perhaps you already have VOIP...
I lived in the Pacific Northwest for 18 years, and never had a chance to really go out on the boat and catch lingcod or halibut but what an incredible time to pull bounty from the sea like that!
What a bounty it was! I hope you get the chance some day and if not then keep watching more of my videos as there will be more fishing this summer.

To see through your videos the investments and changes that have come about to a place and time I truly loved just brings to mind so many memories. Ah the stories I can tell, and hi to all our bygone crews if you’re lurking.
On the boat lift, we had two American craft travelling up to Alaska when they each hit rocks out by False Egg and sheared off their stern drives. Wondering how they didn’t know the rocks were there I asked to see their maps. They were travelling from San Francisco on United Airline’s maps of North America. Calvert was just a speck. Two new stern drives flown up from Van wasn’t cheap even in those days, but we repaired them and got them on their way with better charts.
We had a fire in the gen set room that we built outside the back of the cannery and it travelled into the roof area above the retorts. I had instructions that if it ever caught fire to just let the place go. Well, not on my watch. Folk from all over made it to help extinguish that fire as they could see the plume on one of those clear blue Rivers Inlet days.

Love your videos Jenny❤
Thank you so much, Kathy. It makes me so happy to know that you’re enjoying these videos. Take care.
Great video, I do so love watching your channel wonderful content and spectacular scenery!
Wow, thank you so much, Richard. What a great comment. I appreciate knowing you’re enjoying the videos. It is a spectacular place.
@@jenny_adrift yes it really is a beautiful part of the world. 😊
Great stuff. What a place to work. We are starting up our season here in Yosemite as well. Thanks for the videos . Look forward to seeing more.
Very cool I’ve always wanted to visit Yosemite. Thank you so much for leaving me a comment. I truly appreciate knowing that you’re enjoying the videos. Take care.
Great vlog and interestingly done. About the generators: Maybe the owner should think about a PV system with storage. Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.
Nicely done. Looking forward to more
Much appreciated thank you for letting me know you’re enjoying my videos! More to come soon!
love these vids!
Thank you!!
I love you channel
Hello I am a new subscriber from Newfoundland Canada love your videos❤
Welcome to my channel!! I’m so happy you found it! I hope to visit Newfoundland some day! Take care!
What do you guys produce at the cannery.good job girl ❤😊
Hmmm….Pine Martens still giving you grief….dogs’ll do the trick….I recognize Dugout rocks…frying the rockfish whole is also a great way to cook and eat them. You get more return from each fish and the little bones become edible as well…I would recommend that as something to try with the crew.
Finally learned the rockfish cook whole thing a while ago.Exellent .
Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching!
hell ya they watchin the canucks
Ok i subscribed to your cannel !!
Thank you!!!! 🙏

At 03:50 - 'discovering' that the unlabled can is tomatoe sauce; what about making some chicken parmesan?
Also curious, since the lodge is effectively 'off-grid', how is waste (gray & black) water handled there?
Oh chicken parm is always yummy! There’s a septic system that I’m not familiar with but after it’s processed it goes into the ocean.
What kind of drone do you use? Really enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much, George. I fly a DJI 3. I’ve captured so many amazing things in the last couple years and I can’t wait to see what I’m able to capture this year. Thanks so much for leaving in comment. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos.
😀👍
🥰🙏
Beans...don't be a has bean ; )
Right?! Haha
Is it really expensive to stay up there and go on a guided fish? Or is it a private lodge?
It is a private lodge but there’s one nearby called Dncanby that you can check out! Thanks for watching!
May I ask what camera set up you vlog with? Thanks.
Hi Kelly! I started last year with the GoPro 11 and a DJI mini 3 and this year I’ve added footage from my iPhone 15. The shots are incredible and it’s always in my pocket.
Thanks so much for sharing at watching!
Thanks for the info. Loving your channel!
Thank you!!! 🙏
How is John doing I haven’t seen him since he worked on docks at April point where I was working the ships Oakbay group Norm leg less Norm
He’s doing well! Always such a hard working man!
Maybe a motion activated camera (Wyze Cam) can help you figure out how Mr Marten is getting in…
We had a look under the building and are filling in a few holes that we’ve just noticed. Hopefully that will keep them out. Once the dogs arrive the martens won’t enjoy living around the cannery as much so hopefully it won’t be a problem much longer.

I used to never get sea sick. Ever since I had an ear infection I get sea sick
Noooooooooooo No corn in chili
Have you tried it?! Corn bread and chili and corn…. It totally works haha
What ? coke and pizza ? Where is the Labatts ?
I don’t know what it is about eating pizza, but I crave Coca-Cola with it. Labattd will join us on a nice sunny day after work haha
How would someone look for a job working there I'm retired and Board LOL I'm a retired construction worker
Hi Jerry! I get asked this question often actually. I definitely found my dream job!
When we have positions available they are posted on the website called “Indeed”.
Take care!
@@jenny_adrift Thank you looks really nice there I have lived in the Desert most of my life like a new beginning in Life hope all is well :))
There's a channel on TH-cam oriental pearl seems like your sister she reminds me of you she speaks several languages Chinese Japanese English korean
I’ll check it out! Thank you!
