    So few anglers take the time to talk about where the hook-bait is sitting and why, brilliant explanation from this young lady. Hemp just on Caster 2'' precise thank you. Explains the elastic, and why, shows how much bait at the start, she is gold. Thanks Kayleigh.

    Totally refreshing to see the caliber of female anglers such as Kayleigh, Emma Pickering that can mix it up on any venue and strike fear into the hearts of guys who've dawn in there section.

    Great to see such a talented angler from my home town too, must be about 28 years since I sat just about on the same spot, catching roach and small perch on a pole more like a scaffold pole. Keyleigh great achievements so far and really great videos you can clearly see how much you love your fishing, long may it continue.

    Grew up a mere 20mins walk from Stainforth and Keadby canal and fished it from being around8 yr old. Its 1 of the easiest waters to catch a heavy net full from. Especially at Bonny Hale section near crowle. Maggots, casters on hook, , brown crumb, brasem mixed fairly dry in an open end feeder, plug either end with ground bait with casters and maggots in middle. Quiver tip rod cast against far bank or reeds. No fancy pellets, boilies, fishmeal paste etc. Accounted for numerous bream, tench, perch, roach, carp and chub.

    • @KayleighDowdFishing
      @KayleighDowdFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can get day tickets on the bank, I normally park on the road outside swanlands fishery, not too sure on how to find out if there is matches on, there is normally a piece of paper next to the swingbridge next to where you park with list of matches on. if there is a match on there are plenty of pegs to fish which probably won’t have a match on at the same time, normally you can go somewhere.

    Great to see a female angler, and doing vids too, I never understand why anglers take so much gear fishing, or why "pole" anglers fish so far across, I have been fishing for over 54 years, and I would say that around 99.9999% of my fish have been under my rod tip or closer, just a few pointers, not to yourself but to some match anglers, skimmers = Silver Bream, silver fish = roach rudd, bleak, dace, predominantly, and some young of other fish, if you dont know what you are catching, take up dominos. (Just a personal annoyance)

    • @KayleighDowdFishing
      @KayleighDowdFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tony, I agree you can catch shorter but the canal is very clear at the moment and you can see the bottom for quiet a way, all the features are all long (boats & pads) so it generally holds more fish which is my reason for going long. I'm pretty sure that a skimmer is a name for small bream though.

      @@KayleighDowdFishing Hi Kayleigh, thank you for your reply, from 1974 to 1997 my late father was a lock keeper on tbe Rivers Stort&Lea in Essex and Hertfordshire, the fishing was tremendous on the Lea big. Chub, to 6lb +, big Bream 7lb +, pike over 30lb, roach and rudd to 2lb+, Barbel to early double figures, river carp, twnch to 5lb, millions of small dace and bleak, the pesky Ruffe (pope) I never fished far bank, obviously whats sauace for the goose is not allways sauce for the gander, all my fishing books list silver bream individually, and as a seperate wieht record, it is the same spieces, ish, however there used to be a listed record for silver bream at 5lb 12oz, bigger than some small common bream, good luck in all your matches for the season, if you get time to travel south, try the River Lea between Feildes Weir and Kings Weir, I live in the Fens, am spoilt for choice for fishing, I have rivers North South East and West of my village, and over 100 lakes within a 26 mile radius. Tight Lines.
