Another good un Kayleigh. Nice to see you handling the open-faced reel ok. I've only got little fingers so tend to use a closed-face reel so I can reach the rim when I strike. I wish reel designers would appreciate that.
An excellent demonstration of the waggler which is my favourite technique on the rod or whip. Often gets me out of a jam when I've over fed on the feeder and need the peg to settle down. What is the hook length and diameter you are using ?
The hook length looks to be 20 cm which I thought be quite long - yet with a 3g waggler still getting very positive indications from small fish without a tail tell shot. Just curious! Please do keep the videos coming they are excellent and hopefully generate some revenue and continued sponsorship 👍👍👍
Another great video, despite you forgetting the mic I could still hear you, I haven't seen a white line like you was using for some time as.most lines on the market now are dark lines
Nice video. Who does this stretch belong to and do they do day tickets ? I've been fishing the South Yorkshire Canal in Mexborough all season with good results but it's switched off completely since the beginning of this month (November)
dave i am the match secetary for the stainy ,its run by thorne community angling ,day tickets and books are available on the bank from the bailiff ,or you can purchase a book from thorne pet and angling in thorne ,hope this helps
Why don't you sink the line so the wind doesn't pull your float out of position? or is it because you need to be as close to the boats as possible? When fishing the waggler i was always taught to sink the line so that the wind/surface skim doesn't move the float out of position.
I would normally if I’m open water but just needed to be close to boats here and you get a bite on the drop or just as it hits the bottom so didn’t really get chance to move
@@KayleighDowdFishing I thought that was why you wasn't sinking the line, the closer to the boats the more fish you'll catch as they'll use them for cover. I'm going to have to start fishing the stainy more this year as i'm only down the road in Grimsby, i'm getting fed up fishing for mud pigs. I'd rather catch a 10-15lb net of silvers then 200lb of carp. thanks for the reply.
I prefer maggots on the waggler as you generally miss a few more bites on the drop than on the pole and it’s easier for them to bust your caster without you knowing and you won’t get a bite then, maggots tend to be more durable. I do prefer to fish casters on that canal though as you generally get a bigger stamp of fish
I love the way you say "water" 😁😁... Greetings from Italy 👍🏼🔝

waggler fishing my favorite! great tips Kayleigh!
Great stuff. Love the relaxed pace, and stress free atmosphere.

Great videos, love fishing the Stainy. 30 years ago we all fished Drennan Polywags tight to the far bank for loads of Chub. Rare you see ‘em nowadays.
Bonjour,
Merci pour cette belle vidéo et tous vos conseils 👍.
Bien amicalement.
Daniel (from France)
Nice one Kayleigh canals seem to be well forgotten now keep em coming
is there nothing this girl cant do ? great fishing video. learnt loads again.
I love waggler fishing its great. And also if conditions get bad you can turn it into a bomb or feeder line. Great vid cheers 👍

Think it’s 0.15 mainline to a 0.10 hooklength

Hi it’s just a 6 inch hooklength on this one I just use the micro swivel as my last dropper
Kayleigh Smith Fishing 👍👍👍

I prefer to use power line for waggler fishing as it’s low diameter and strong
@@KayleighDowdFishing I can understand that as it helps to go through the rod eyes easier and gives you confidence for the odd bonus fish
Where’s the best place to park for this stretch
Great film, do you need a licence to fish this canal??
Yes you will do
Alika da barge you were fishing to 😀
Great vids, good luck with your channel. 👍
i caught a 7lb 3oz perch 3 years ago from the lake district but never had a camera with me .
Or scales!
great video as usual 👍👍
Great video as always Kayleigh, you make it look so,so easy.Quick question will use all of the 2 pints of maggots?
Stay safe
On some days you might but normally use around a pint/pint and half ish
@@KayleighDowdFishing can we fish here between march and June Kayleigh?

Not sure who it belongs to but they do day tickets on the bank

@@MegaAndy180 any idea if they stock maggots and casters currently in this covid lockdown fancy a trip meself next week.

Nothing beats fishing the waggler for pure pleasure. The pole gets a bit boring sometimes.
Great video but I don’t know what you done different but it’s a bit hard to hear you on this one, love the waggler 👍🏻👊🏻
Forgot the mic 🎤 on this video 🤪 all the rest should be fine going forward 👍
who,s doing your filming ??
I drag Adam along with me nothing professional only on the iPhone
No problem, good video's keep it up 👍👍
😘😘😘
Isnt power line for bottoms
If you put some backing line on the reel u can use it as on reel for waggler no problem 😉
@@KayleighDowdFishing cheers kayleigh
I don`t think you can beat waggler fishing. Maybe you could tweak the microphone next time.
I left it at home that’s why volume is a bit rubbish 🤦♀️
gorgeous
Why maggots Kayleigh? As when you pole fish long at Thorne it tends to be with casters and hemp...great vid...keep em comin 👍
