Just awesome footage. I am about to test fly my -as new- second hand RX0II on my iFlight Chimera 7(v1) mounted using the iFlight ZV-E10 Mounting Plate. I can't find a Beastgrip or Zomei 0.6 Wide Angle lens anywhere to screw onto the 37mm thread of the Puluz front plate. Will this set up produce really bad micro vibrations?
Very nice man, i also have the RX0II love the camera, i build a 5 inch X8 "MiniCine" myself just for my RX0II bottom mount battery leaving room to place the RX0 center on the frame on top flies amazing looking forward to seeing your build, and you right PP does play very nice with the RX0 for some reason i only need like 3% just to take high FEQ vibes looks smooth yet still alive if that makes sense not unreal feeling like a video game i enjoy it so. anyway awesome stuff man
Once again here comes SAM with the OK a camera we dont wanna fly and he makes it work ! so who will be first to decase it ? and will we see this on a 3 inch micro. How is the indoor footage? lowlight is key here. If we can use this for indoor shoots where we use the GoPro then im sold!
Super impressive!!! But... that one persistent lens flare with a bokeh look became problematic @ 1:07, 1:22, 2:53, distracting after I noticed it. Regardless, image quality, composition, grade, edit and flying was AWESOME! 💯💥🔥
great quality for its size sooner there will be the new gopro but this one currently it is amazing i thout it was a 3d world because its digital look/sharpness , but i really like it and the idea of a smaller 5-6 inch.
In the first 5 seconds I thought, WOW it looks great! Maybe I should get this over one of my gopros for FPV, and then I thought, oh it's simulator footage. But no it's real. AHahahha why did it look like sim for a sec, amazing.
@@strawhatsam I'm not sure if it's the bright shadows, it's when you went past the trees and over the rocks that I thought maybe it's sim because the rock was so smooth. Maybe it's the motion blur. Or just something to do with that scene specifically. Watching that exact moment back I still get that impression. It looks like the best unreal engine 5 render ever ahaha. When you get to the second layer of rocks it starts looking real again for me.
I bought the same camera, I printed the mount but the clip are full of vibrations I mounted it On a 7inch drone.. there are vibrations even in a simple Cruise.. it is a matter of mount ? Do I have to print it in another way? What you suggest To reduce vibrations ??
You can only use 5in frames with this camera if rigid mounting b/c it is sensitive. 6 and 7 inch can only work with soft mounting. Don't worry though I am working on a frame that is compatible with this camera in 5 6 and 7in.
How are you focusing it? I cannot get mine to stay focused for some reason I’ve tried manual mode set to infinity. I’ve also tried auto focus, and nothing seems to give me consistent results one flight will be good. Another will be out of focus.
For 5inch you need a solid tune, perfect props, very rigid frame, and solid mount for the camera. For 6 inch and bigger you need to soft mount the camera somehow.
looking awesome, can't wait to see how this frame turns out, surprised the 7" needed soft mounting ... Although I've never used the Sony before ... My saf 7 is around 100hz min resonance I think with 2806.5s.... the aos7 was like 230hz lol.... Rosser can sure make a stiff frame
In my last video the 7inch didnt have much vibes, but it gets bumped around in the wind due to low disc loading. So 5 and 7 inch technically can be rigid mounted and 6 inch is the bad freq that vibes the camera. I want to do soft mount to make the frame universal and resilient to bad conditions like jacked up props or high wind. 6 inch with this camera flies the best actually but the vibes must be taken care of.
Oh great idea! The tricky part is the Sony camera needs a soft mount for larger prop size. 5 inch and below you can get away with a solid rigid mount. I am designing a miniquad frame that is versatile and can take 5/6/7 inch arms and has a quick release soft mount for Gopro and Sony RX0ii. Maybe I can just do back-to-back flights along the same path. I do have a comparision with 7inch between the H10 and RX0ii, but the 7inch had bobbles: th-cam.com/video/6CJ2pBaS9C4/w-d-xo.html
Yes is does have a gyro. I ahve not had good luck with catalyst browse stabilization. I have not created a lens profile for gyroflow yet. I used warp stabilizer so I would not have to transcode twice which improves image.
It is only 8-bit, but man it was sooo easy to color grade and I felt like I could stretch the colors and gammas really far without it breaking down in Adobe Premiere.
I can guarantee that it won't unfortunately. For prop size 6" and above, special mounting is necessary to eliminate almost all vibrations to the camera for it to not have jello. That is why I developed the Vulture, a 6" cineminiquad that I will be selling in about a month if all goes well.
@@strawhatsam Could you advice any (Ready to fly out of the box) fpv drone, which could lift the RX0 II camera+wide lens without the jelly effect? What about Iflight AOS 5 O3, described as low vibration frame on their site?
@@xdrive12345 Yes that would be a great bet! For this video above ^^^ I flew with 5 inches and it was a rigid mount. I was able to fly fast in some clips because I was letting the wind carry me. It will be a great test of a frame to see if it can not have jello with the RX0ii and the AOS5 is a great place to start.
First to ask! Yes this is a tricky part. The lens natively accepts 52mm filter thread. But this created vignetting. So instead I took apart a couple 58mm ND filters ND 16 and ND 32. I 3d printed a slip on adapter that holds the glass with a lip and the cap just press fits onto the lens. This way the glass extends all the way to the outer rim and there is zero vignetting. Also the 3d printed nd cap filter is lighter weight.
The gyro data coming out of the RX0ii isn't great. When processed through gyroflow it doesnt sync properly and it glitches out. Warp stabilizer works best for this kind of footage, unless you can attach a separate gyrologger to the camera. BTW do you know of any good small conveniece gyroflkw gyro loggers on the market? Last time I checked, I couldn't find anything that didn't require programming, soldering, and stuff like that. I just want something that is battery powered kr powered via BEC and you just stick it on the camera and press a momentary switch for start and stop each time you record.
I figured out why I was gettign that CGI look I think... It was because my black gammas were too high during color grading and on some screens, the darkest shadows look gray instead of pure black. So it was just a color grading issue.
Sony should've sponsored this. RX0ii is still the only camera that can offer this quality at its size.
How did you get footage that stable
I never realised this would make such a good FPV camera!
This is the footage that convinced me to get an RX0!
Wow! That’s insane clean! The image quality is really good as well. Congrats Sam!
Wow! Shadows are so much better than on a GoPro 10 footage!
contrast range looks fantastic, nizze!

Most beautiful smaller sensor FPV work I've seen. Does the Azure Photonics 6.5mm f1.4 make the RX0II actually usable in low light?
Oh Sam, this footage looks like rendered in 3D Software, just Amazing....
Looks absolutely fantastic! Colors and dynamic range much better then Hero11
I really like the look, so much better than the gopro ! The place is insane! Nice one 👏
stunning!! Nice work can't wait to see your final product!!
So underrated video, best shots I've ever seen o.O
Thanks!!!
Thats just awesome... This quality on such a small drone.
Sick footage man!. I'm modding a 5inch too for the same purpose. This camera is tricky

The sim look I believe is a result of my color grade by accident. The black levels are a little too high.

The darker areas turn out really nice. The scene is epic and the flying was great. Perfect lines.

For 5inch you need a solid tune, perfect props, very rigid frame, and solid mount for the camera. For 6 inch and bigger you need to soft mount the camera somehow.

3 to 4 weeks as of this reply on 3/18/23

I used manual setting at Infinity
