Great video....a similar video on your saddle setup and your climbing process would be awesome! I’m thinking I’m going to make the switch to a saddle for next season and it would be very helpful!
Now that's a DIALED system. I look forward to the day mine is that tight. You can tell the experience and care that has gone into developing a well designed system.
I moved to Texas this year and the state kind of forces you to be mobile while hunting public land because you can't leave a setup for more than 72 hours in most places, some spots you have to take it down at the end of the hunt. I feel like switching to the saddle would be best because carrying in and out my hang on stand is a bit cumbersome, but those saddle kits are expensive!
Ho .Lee. Gear. haha I'm sitting around wondering how I can lighten my load for the walk in and climb up and your pulling this stuff around. Awesome video.
Still much better than having a pack strapped to a climber! Also I really like how that pack opens with easy access to different parts of it. Nothing worse than having to dig to bottom to look for something
@@BeauMartonik wow, I couldn’t imagine walking to the stand with only 8lbs. That would be amazing. I swear it seems like my backpack weighs 30 or 40 lbs and my tree stand is almost another 20lbs. It’s a struggle every hunt, I’ve got to get a saddle and lighter weight gear.
That’s a lot of stuff to carry. I carry a bit of food, water, a bow hanger, flashlight and a saw. Any extra layers strap to my stand. I don’t even carry a pack anymore. So much simpler for me.
If you decide to hunt NY with your current gear make sure to contact the DEC. they have a vague law that states you cannot hunt with equipment that uses a laser. Since that is how a laser rangefinder finds its distance it could be some gray area with a bow mounted rangefinder.
I am definitely looking for a high value meat 🥩 hauler day pack for being mobile and if I take a deer 🦌 deep in I can pack it out instead of dragging it out. I also recently ordered a Tethrd ESS saddle kit. Looking forward to trying it out this year
The frame and bag separate where there's a small "shelf" that you can place the meat on. I will say that it's not the ideal meat hauling pack. Now, I typically will just throw one quarter in there and then come back with a dedicated frame pack that I use elk hunting for the rest of the deer.
From my experience, it’s only complex as you make it. If you won’t to trick out your setup with climbing style or accessories, that will make it more complex
@@BeauMartonik I'm assuming you're fairly brand loyal, but I also hunt in PA and have used my Stone Glacier Solo 3300 for multiple pack-outs. Last year I had 100 lbs on the pack (I weighed it). That included the quartered deer, tree stand, bow, gear. It was a fairly short pack out, but nearly killed me! Packing out deer is like carrying groceries in from the car. Nobody wants to make a second trip.
Man! That setup is worth some people's yearly income!
I like the tip about retaining heat. I usually try to cool down then zip up. But never thought about retaining it as soon as i get in stand. Thanks

Just found your channel and enjoyed your down to earth video!
Thank you!!! I appreciate that
Think I'll go to a bag. Been just putting stuff in my vest and carrying a chair.
I strap my bow to my pack to climb as well. Saves me something else I don't have to keep up with and not another rope dangling while climbing.
Digging the Black Diamond Daisy Chain and hero clip setup. 🤙🏹
Just curious what is your setup weight?? I find saddle and climbing method to be very lite, it’s everything else that adds up.
Killer gear dump. Really enjoyed this one! May be investing in some different gear. Thanks!

Nice video Beau. Interesting pack. I'll have to check it out. Plus look into those Mavens! I need a new pair.
Great gear dump well informative to say the least im definitely taking a few of those tips to the woods with me..thanks beau
thank you for making this video,. I learned a few things and will incorporate in my pack. cheers
Love your carry gun! Smart move

Haha, I was curious how much that pack weighs.

What is the name of your backpack again please?

Thanks for the videos Beau! Just moved to NE PA, trying to figure out how to hunt in the mountains now.......Your videos help a lot.
How are you attaching your trail cameras to prevent theft?
Awesome video. I just subscribed and liked from Oregon. Thanks for sharing.
Did you weigh your entire pack all set up?
How do you load your quarters into this pack?

Got it Beau!!! Thanks for the info!!!
Love the setup I’ve been reluctant to switch over to the saddle just because of how extremely complex it seems.
From my experience, it’s only complex as you make it. If you won’t to trick out your setup with climbing style or accessories, that will make it more complex
How heavy is your pack loaded? That looks 30+lb
Basic question, what is your method for quartering a deer in the field?
search gutless method. there are many videos from a multiple of people. im getting to old to drag an entire carcass out.
I left at the part where there was a pistol in the bino pack 😂
Good video man.
You still running the Gear Box 3 years later?
@@BeauMartonik awesome! Are you hauling meat out with it or going back to the truck and swapping it out for something like a Kifaru?
Are you using that pack to haul out meat?

Hunting in the 4 county area you need to be ultra lightweight....swv is rugged to day least
I like all the stuff. Just can’t afford it lol
Now thats a Gucci setup
Good luck with the sd card reader, it’s junk and will be useless soon. I’ve gone through about 4 in last 2 years. Pure junk
I've got one I've used for over a decade
