  • The Honda Accord is all new for 2023, featuring a completely redesigned exterior and interior, new hybrid engines, and new technology. A sophisticated new exterior gives way to Honda's new interior design language that first debuted in the Civic, which features a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and 10-inch digital gauge cluster. New drivetrains include two-motor hybrid electric systems.
    Accord is a 5-passenger midsize car that is only offered as a 4-door sedan. Competitors include the Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5, Mazda 6, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry. A hybrid variant is also available.
    Six trims are offered: LX, EX, Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring. Two engines are available: A turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder that produces 192 horsepower, and a 2.0-liter twin-motor hybrid that produces 204 horsepower. Both engines mate to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Pricing ranges from $28,000 to $40,000.

    I love mine in Urban Gray. Coming from a 2012 Civic LX this car is amazing. I don’t have blind spot monitoring or heated seats but everything else is exceptional. I was quoted $31,450 before taxes and fees. I get 42 mpg on my way to work and have gotten over 50 mpg cruising around town anywhere from 30-50mph. I really enjoy it.

    Since 1996 I've owned four Nissan Altima's with the last one somewhat of a disappointment due to CVT and head light issues despite the fact I got 331K miles out of it.
    So, two days ago it became necessary to get a new car. I looked at the Altima SR and this model.
    Previous Altima issues brushed aside I found this to be a much nicer car overall.
    I texted my local Honda dealership and accepted their offer. Went to the dealership and chose the blue model without ever setting foot inside.
    So, driving the car home my first impression was WOW - what an awesome car.
    In closing a shout out (Yeah!) to Southeastern Honda in Palm Bay Florida for the price I paid and the service.

    I'm looking to get either a Accord or Camry hybrid and I'm on the fence on what to choose. But anyways, I wish on your test drive you would had explain the paddle shifters. Since there's no gears, I believe it has to do with the amount of regenerating braking. Does the + slow the car more, which is the opposite what gears do as you use the - to slow (unless you're down shifting to pass, but I'm talking about to slow down to stop or coming to a sharp curve). And if you do use the + or - to slow the car to a stop, does it reset to normal regenerating braking when you get going again or do you have to hit the + or - the same amount of times as you did before you came to a stop to get back to normal regenerating braking?

    • @VehicleVisionary
      @VehicleVisionary  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a good point, Sam. I will be sure to give an explanation in future videos but you are already known what they are for with the Accord Hybrid. Pulling the “minus” paddle increases the regenerative braking effect, providing a feel similar to downshifting a conventional car. Four levels of regenerative braking are available through the paddles. Pulling the “plus” paddle decreases the regenerative braking until the normal level is restored.

      @kathyhoppenjan4943 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sam, I just got our '23 Accord Touring. I have driven the Camry XLE's and XSE's extensively. If you do mostly high speed highway travel (70+) and you want the most mpg, get the Camry. If you want most bang for the buck, get the Camry. But for most any other reason, you cannot go wrong with the Accord. I am impressed with it's reduced road noise over the previous generation. I once drove an Accord 1.5T rental for 3000 miles and the road noise was a killer. I was all prepared to swap out the 19" for 17" wheel and tire package. But given the quiet nature, I won't have to. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so everyone will have their own opinion on the look.

I love the wireless connectivity of Android Auto & Apple Car Play. And it drives better in Sports Mode than normal; better handling in my opinion. The interior seat material doesn't make since ro me but I've seen worse in cars. The look / body style reminds me of tge Early 2000s or the spoiler / lights of the old school early body Accords or civics.

    10th Gen looks WAY better. The Hybrid is a HUGE mistake by Honda. 2.0T was EXACTLY what the younger generation loved to modify and accesorize. This Jetta/Taurus model will not have the aftermarket support.

    I love my new Accord, I just don’t like the interior of the seats. If you have a dog that sheds, you are in for a nightmare. When my dog gets out of the car, the seats have more hair on them than my actual dog. The seats are like a hair magnet. And you can vacuum these seats all you want and there will still be hair. You’ll need a lint roller or 2 or 3. I have seat covers now, so all of the hair is stuck to the roof liner. I wish I could have came up with a bigger down payment to get the one with leather. Aside from that you’ll absolutely love this car.
