It is true. Some days, it includes scribbles-- I mean, artwork-- by your 2 year old on the walls. Some days it means the dog jumps through the brand new window screen that just got replaced. Some days the responsibility is heavy. But remembering that each action, each room, each act of service is not about the house itself, but about pointing those IN your home to Christ- that's what keeps me going day after challenging day. To God be the glory.
So true Eden!!! Just the other day we cleaned toothpaste off the wall and carpet. My 3 year old decided she'd decorate her room with it, haha. But I'm thankful to have her and the mess to clean up.
I so love your channel. I am the widow that wrote you a few years back in the throngs of grief. The 6 year anniversary will be here on Valentine's day. 😢 Just watching your videos and hearing your voice and the 'way' you tell a story makes me feel like Jesus is sitting right here, next to me. This by far is the BEST channel on TH-cam. Why? Because God IS inside every bit. ✝️💯❤️
First, I am so incredibly sorry for the grief and loss you have experienced. I pray that God has given you the peace that surpasses all understanding. Second, your kind comment truly made my evening special and encouraged my heart, thank you.
this is beautiful. I am a newlywed and I am constantly striving to create a home. But the simplicity shown in this video is amazing. Keeping Christ centered through it all. May God bless you and your family.
Lantern in her hand is one of my favorite books. First time I read it I was 12, and have reread it many times even at 73. You are a wise woman with words of encouragement. Thank you.
Tonight, you have no idea how much I needed this. I had breast cancer that spread to my liver years ago. I did survive after two bone marrow transplants but it left me with many health issues. I want so much to be able to do things. Especially now when I’m needed by my family who have been suffering with health issues. I just can’t keep up with everything. Yes, Gods grace is sufficient enough. 🥰~ Janet
This is both encouraging and convicting all at the same time (In a very good way). I know I grumble and complain about housework far too often. Beautiful videos like this help me to remember to be grateful that I have a home to clean and a husband and sweet pets to care for. I can definitely work on my attitude a lot. Thank you for the reminder, and thank you for the encouragement
Thank you so much I really needed to hear this tonight , I seem to be spending my days grumbling about all the things I have to do and people I need to care for I've lost sight of the Lords blessings, thank you for reminding me to take a closer look 🙏
Hi, Lea! I live in Brazil and I thank God for having found a sister in Christ who, even far away, is used by God and has helped me a lot with her videos about the importance of taking care of our home and being grateful. God bless you Lea
Thank you for this. I am struggling with a complaining spirit and resentfulness for staying at home and homeschooling. I get filled from people. I'm an extrovert and I am often lonely. So lonely. And my husband is a pastor so I feel isolated in that way too. I hate what I have slipped into and have been praying to love my blessings. I did before.. i dont know what changed in me to send me down this path. I feel weary. But thank you. This videohas been an excellent reminder about the heart of homemaking. It is about growing closer to christ and serving his children: my husband and children. Thanks for the attitude adjustment and pointing me back to Christ. You are in my prayers!
I needed to hear these messages. Somehow God has led me to find your channel. I have quietly watched and listened over the past week and am finding new things that He needs me to learn, a way of thinking that I had not been open to consider before. I think I cried through this whole video. I have tried so many times to make my home a peaceful sanctuary and the hustle and bustle that surrounds me constantly tells me that it is a futile exercise. I would give in and take the easier route of convenience to find myself stressed and frustrated. Your story of your aunt spoke to my heart. Thank you for sharing. I will be returning here to find the inspiration and motivation to keep walking the path that is not always easy or convenient especially when it comes to putting God and home first. God bless and keep you. ❤🙏🏼
I have gratitude for sweet Obie’s face during those hugs, and the memory of the hugs that Emma gave me while on this earth. And I am grateful for your gentle presence in my heart today. I love you sister.
Your home is beautiful and your animals are wonderful. I love how you love them it's precious . You can tell a lot about a person in how they treat animals .You have a very tender gentle lovely soul . God bless you .
This is the first time I've seen one of your videos. I must say is inspiring and beautiful. Just remember if you have children or when you do have children. They remember what's going on inside the house. The time spent with their mother, home cooked meals at the table as a family. Just the one on one time with their mom. They don't care what the house looks like on the outside. They just care about the love
Thank you for sharing this important message. I wasted so much of my adult life feeling like a failure. In our modern world it is not easy for a woman to live a simple, traditional life, but it is the right thing to do regardless of the persecution. Keep pressing on. God bless you and thank you for your channel.
Aw, thank you for this beautiful message, Lea. My home is not "Pinterest perfect", either. Your video is a wonderful reminder in this very frugal season for my husband & I, that if my house is a reflection of living for Christ then it is beautiful.♥️🇨🇦
When I heard those Words of Truth come out of your mouth I suscribed! We need the Lord now! More than ever with everything going on. Psalm 91 I stand on in peace, in His rest!I will praise Him in the storm & I am thankful for His Grace! Have a blessed life in Christ!
I was just scrolling about deseeding dried dill off stalks and came across your beautiful site. Thank you, for this The Heart of Homemaking. It's just what I needed. I have been feeling quite lost for a while now and have only just started making my way back or rebirthing to a new me. I am watching this at the end of the evening and just listening to your voice and not judging yourself has me even more peaceful. God bless you and all who are following you. Thank you.💖💫
So refreshing to come across a vlogger who keeps Christ at the center and holds humility and wonder in the beautiful task of homemaking. Thank you for sharing!
I cannot tell you what a deep and timely blessing this video was to me tonight. Your words were exactly what I needed to hear, but did not know it. God led me to this. Thank you ever so much, sister.
Your story about your aunt touched me! I remember when I had an undiagnosed infection for over a year and a half and I had so much fatigue, I couldn't lift my head at times. When I finally got diagnosed and got the antibiotics and started healing, putting laundry away or doing dishes was SUCH a joy to me. I prayed that I would never lose that feeling. I'm not going to say it still feels that way every time, lol, but I can still remember those early days of being able to do tasks in my house again and how happy I was. There are blessings hidden in each task, and even just the ability to do them is such a blessing not everyone realizes or understands. Beautiful video! Thank you!
Your chicken in the house brought back warm memories of my goat in our kitchen when I was 11 (it was too chilly for it to be in the barn alone) and the 2 orphan lambs my mother-in-love raised in her kitchen for awhile. Blessings and peace to you!
Thank you so much for your beautiful Christ centered videos. I always end up crying by the encouraging words. Your reflections in this video were the exact thoughts I had after your video "Ordinary Days". To be grateful that we have dirty dishes and laundry. These are the result of God's faithful provisions of food and clothing. We don't "have" to do dishes...we "get" to do dishes because of God's blessings. Saying prayers and singing hymns while doing the mundane is always God glorifying. By the way...I love your house...it is perfect as it is...loved and lived in. Blessings to all you hard working home keepers!!
I love that your house looks the way it does. I get very annoyed at the videos and pinterest photos of the perfect homes. Especially the kitchen. Because I know it is fake. No way are some of those kitchens used everyday with all that decor sitting around in the way. I love that your pots that you cook in do not look like they just came off the store shelf, because it shows that you really use them as they are intended to be used. In other words, I love your honesty about your life. It is just an inspiration to all of us homemakers. I adore your house on the mountain side and am amazed you have been able to do so much with it. Such a wonderful example you set for young and older women to be inspired by. Thank you for that. And I would love a video on fictional books you like to read. Like the one in this video. so many trashy books out there.
I’m watching this as I’m folding laundry (one of my least favorite chores) and I’m thankful that you have reminded me to look at the positive in it all. You mentioned remembering that there was food on your plate when you wash it. And that you had the strength to stand. So I’m hoping to look at the positive more often and to thank Him for the blessings He has given me
These were such great, lovely and healing words. It was overwhelming and filled with the Holy Spirit. I am often so sad about myself, the more grace I have for others, the less I have often times for myself...I am I a process where I learn to love myself even when my house isn't that clean or anything else is not how I wanted them to be. God has mercy on us and so I want to love myself and become more and more like our Jesus. Thank you so much for your words and love. Much love and Shalom from Germany 💗🙏🏻
"A heart and desire to nourish your family - the best of what you can gather in that season of life" ~ your videos are great reminders of giving our best. And this is a cheerful reminder to me that our hearts' intention can go along way & even stretch out our material possession. Mustard seeds grow into 6-20 foot branch structures. #gratitude #stewardship #guardourgroundsfromcrows 🤗Thankful for you!
I would take a tiny quaint abode with muddy paw prints, doggy window art work and Furr balls in every corner over a big spotless home with white furniture any day! I come to your channel for your beautiful spirit and the gentle reminders to be thankful and grateful and blessed for even the every day mundane things of our lives. ❤️❤️
Thank you. Beautiful video, reminding us to see the good in all things and to have hearts of thankfulness to our Heavenly Father. I see Him in everything. Praise His Holy Name Forever. ✝️🌍❤️
I think all of your videos stir up in me the beauty of earthly home making along with that deep longing to be in our heavenly home. They are such a blessing, dear sister.
Thank you for this post/video. I needed to hear this today. May Our Heavenly Father continue to bless you in your endeavors. May we always keep our eyes and minds stayed on Him.
And this video is a reminder that as sister's in Christ I feel we are cut from the same cloth no doubt about it. 💖May God bless you and cover you in His mighty wings in Jesus' name. Amen
Yes homemaking at 70 years of age is nothing like it was when I first started as a newlywed at 24 years of age. Almost nothing is the same, except for one thing…. I’ve never stopped wanting beauty around me and Jesus at my side, all these years.
Thank you Lea. Appreciated this in a completely different way tonight. I desperately want this 'quiet,' this day-by-day patience that emanates from your vids. I'm exhausted from ... well so many things. It's a challenge when you feel like you can't even really stop long enough to try to think it through and be intentional about changing some things. Elohim is gracious. I covet quiet.
Her voice is so calming, I love her videos and when I am feeling stressed I pour a cup of coffee and watch her videos and a calm comes over me and I feel the stress leave my body...
Love these thoughts! I love homemaking too and I love to think of it spiritually. God , Himself is preparing a place for us. I think we will meet in Heaven . What a beautiful woman you are.
I've watched this video and your home is so cozy and inviting. You have a lovely home. Every time I watch one of your videos It resonates love. Keep doing what you do and God's work!
Your words and the comments below this video is such a blessing in the time of sickness. After 2 years I managed to catch covid which put me through a mental rollercoaster. Makes me question that am I living in the right place? I left my beautiful country 15 years ago and I miss my family so much since. But your thoughts of home makes me feel blessed as I have 2 places to call home. Thank you so much for showing me a different perspective of life! God bless you for it! There is a hope in every situation 💚
Thank you SO much for this encouragement..I needed to hear that I'm not the only one who struggles with feeling like I'm failing, who compares my home and what I am able to do and not to with others. I struggle with my health. Just....thank you thank you for sharing this
A tip for muddy paws ... keep a container with soapy water and a rag and just wring it out when the dogs comes in and wipe. Gets the paws really clean :)
I love that you have a house chicken...my husband will find comfort in the fact that we are not the only civilized folks living with a feather child for the rest of winter. ❤❤
So often after watching your videos I say, "This is my favorite of hers," then you post another that surpasses the last and I say, "No, THIS one is my favorite." And this one I will watch again and again just as a favorite book is read over and over again.
God bless for your hard work as a homemaker. This video was so moving and beautiful. It brought me so much encouragement today. I am learning to trust God’s plan through every season. I know this sounds silly ( because I live in Texas, but I wish I could come over, share a cup of tea and swap stories about our kids and fur babies. Have a blessed Easter! Take care and thanks again!
The way u described homemaking is Exactly the way we experience but can't describe. Home gives not only provides private space but also comforts us gives us warmth , be our own self. For me home is the extension of my personality. Not only 4 walls . Attitude of gratitude should be in each of us. Not taking nothing for granted.
You mentioned something about your health struggle. I also struggle with something and it makes it hard not to be overcome by that struggle. Your words are encouraging and to know that we don’t struggle alone is also encouraging in a way. I enjoy your soft spoken videos. Thank you for such beautiful content friend.
This is beautiful. I live alone and have these cobwebs of thoughts that I know are not from Father God. I turn to Him as soon as I realize what is happening. He truly is faithful and His love is everlasting. God bless y'all 🌺
Oh, that made me cry...having dealt with health issues more often than not, I struggle to view my failures, weaknesses, shortcomings, etc. as ways to lean on my Lord and am more tempted to view them as a way to beat myself down...if anyone said I don't do enough in the homekeeping area, I'd agree...I don't feel like I do anything consistently enough. But gratitude....I remember thinking for the longest time, "I wish I lived a more "slow living" type of life"....and now I do. I've graduated from stay-at-home daughter (for the most part - I had a job for a while) to stay-at-home wife, and hopefully someday, stay-at-home mom....and until then? I can learn to look at each new learning curve, each change, each curveball as a chance to grow in the Lord and learn that even when I'm not faithful...He is. And He is faithful to see us complete in Him.
I truly feel like you were speaking to me. God bless you for your encouragement. I needed it . I am also a homemaker, caregiver to my 87 year old mom and 2 adorable dogs. Some days are challenging but yes with Gods grace I make it ✝️💗
How beautiful and peaceful, oh my goodness , may our Jesus bless you, your family and your precious Animals. You remind me of myself. Unfortunately have to go to work for a while until I can afford a new Fur Baby. My husband went home to be with the Lord do to a terrible illness two years ago and all my Yorkies are gone now too. My last Yorkie passed away five months ago. I too have a chronic illness as well, I only trust the Lord and keep my head low and keep peddling, trusting Him until I can stay home again and start compassion ministry if He’s willing for me to do so by training shelter dogs into therapy dogs and take care of my home and all He has giving. Your home may have dust, as mine does, but I feel the love from your voice and your gracious, humble, grateful attitude. May God bless You dear one and I know He does. Tina
Pls pls pray for me.. I'm under sooo much condemnation.. Thinking I will never come bk to the Father but yet knowing He is waiting with open arms. God Bless you and countinue strengthing you so you can be uplifting in all you do. You bring me much grace thru the Lord with your simplicity and beauty in all you do n speak...🙏🏻
Oh my sweet friend. The Fathers arms are open wide and waiting. No matter where we have wandered, through Christ, we can confidently approach His throne of grace. I just know He is waiting for you to call out for Him in surrender. Many hugs.
"This is why I can't have white couches like other people." 🤣 I know your pain and laughed out loud at that comment. But, yes, they are worth it. 🥰 On a more serious note, you mentioned the pain you feel realizing your house isn't as clean as others. Well, it's certainly cleaner than a LOT of other homes not on TH-cam. I watch other slow living videos, including ones with ultra-tidy homes that look like they belong on a design blog or in a magazine. I appreciate both. Your videos with an "imperfect" home are just as relaxing, and it makes you unique. It's nice to step away from the sense of perfection in others' worlds and accept our imperfections rather than compare. I like your home. It's cozy and warm and inviting. And it appears full of love. My home only contains my dog and me, but it's full of love in all its imperfections too. :)

Totally agree.
What is it about?!?!
Any book recommendations regarding being a homemaker?!?!

Such a beautiful reminder to all of us to thank God for all of our blessings 💗
There's something sweet and special about bottle baby animals- they are the sweetest and most affectionate ❤️
Wow. This was so encouraging and beautiful. You are truly a light of Christ in this world of darkness. Much peace and shalom to you.
"" I AM GROWING". AMEN......🙏😌
Beautiful video. Lord forgive me for complaining and help me to be the best wife I can be for my husband. 🙏💕
Thank you for your wise words and peaceful video ☺️
I love you and your little home on the mountain. It is perfect. God is there.
So sweet and adorable. I have a lot of the same feelings/ struggles. I love your home! God bless you my sister in Christ!
I’m watching this as I’m folding laundry (one of my least favorite chores) and I’m thankful that you have reminded me to look at the positive in it all. You mentioned remembering that there was food on your plate when you wash it. And that you had the strength to stand. So I’m hoping to look at the positive more often and to thank Him for the blessings He has given me
Hello Kelly, how are you doing today
Beautiful 🍂
This was beautifully said ✨✨✨
I would take a tiny quaint abode with muddy paw prints, doggy window art work and Furr balls in every corner over a big spotless home with white furniture any day! I come to your channel for your beautiful spirit and the gentle reminders to be thankful and grateful and blessed for even the every day mundane things of our lives. ❤️❤️
I pray for shalom in your home. Thank you for the encouragement. ❤️
Thank you. Beautiful video, reminding us to see the good in all things and to have hearts of thankfulness to our Heavenly Father. I see Him in everything. Praise His Holy Name Forever. ✝️🌍❤️
Thank you Lea! Your Encouragement was sent By The Holy Spirit! God Bless you In Jesus Name!

I really enjoyed this video. Your words were so encouraging and your dog was too cute. Please continue these videos 👍🏽🙌🏾
I think all of your videos stir up in me the beauty of earthly home making along with that deep longing to be in our heavenly home. They are such a blessing, dear sister.
Thank you so much. Praise the Lord
Amen
"Battling with the whispers of the enemy..." ~ beautiful challenging truth ♡ Bless
Am so glad I found you. Thank you for your honesty......and the black talkative chicken. God Bless
Amen… Amen ….. Amen…
This touched me so deeply 🙏🏻 Felt as if this was my own heart’s struggles being poured out into words. Thank you for this word of encouragement 🙏🏻
Thank you from my heart for this video and your kind words! ❤
What a beautiful video and a heartwarming message. May your days be blessed with health and happiness. 🙂 thank for sharing 🙏
And thank you for watching
Her voice is so calming, I love her videos and when I am feeling stressed I pour a cup of coffee and watch her videos and a calm comes over me and I feel the stress leave my body...
I enjoy your channel, to see your lovely cozy home. Your home is filled with love and that's what makes a home! God bless.
Totally understand the thought of failing...thank you for the lovely reminder that we are enough
You made me feel so relax with your story your home and your dogs and chicken 🐓
Just....thank you thank you for sharing this
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I very much needed to hear all of what you spoke. Have a blessed day.
A tip for muddy paws ... keep a container with soapy water and a rag and just wring it out when the dogs comes in and wipe. Gets the paws really clean :)
Amen amen amen ❤️
I love that you have a house chicken...my husband will find comfort in the fact that we are not the only civilized folks living with a feather child for the rest of winter. ❤❤
I know! So cute! 💕
Thank you for the encouragement!!
Love this and thank you for the much needed reminder of gratitude instead of complaining ❤. A good spiritual reminder is good for the soul
You have no idea how you encourage me. You are not alone dear Christian sister. Blessings Helena Montana

You are a precious soul. God bless. Thanks for the inspiration. ❤️💐
I love watching your videos , they are peaceful , calming and relaxing.. and… i love how you always bring up God and Yeshua/jesus…
So often after watching your videos I say, "This is my favorite of hers," then you post another that surpasses the last and I say, "No, THIS one is my favorite." And this one I will watch again and again just as a favorite book is read over and over again.
Oh thank you so very much for this encouragement
What a beautiful video as usual.Thank you Leah. You inspire so many of us.❤️💜
Love you and the direction your lives are going. stay on track💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
What a beautiful and inspiring sentiment! Thank you!!!
The way u described homemaking is
Exactly the way we experience but can't describe.
Thank you so much for your quiet spirit. I crave this way of life......
You are blessed. I wanna thank you for all the inspiration!. Wishing a lovely February .
Kind regards from Greece🍀
You made the right choice Lea that will not be taken away from you.
I am deeply inspired by this video!!!! Thank you so much for doing the work required to make this video!!!! God bless you!!!! 👣🪻🙏❤️🌟🕊✝️🌈🍷🌌💞🌄
This video left me speechless and with tears in my eyes!! Thank you for this precious message, I needed it so much! God bless you!
Thank you so much for watching. I am blessed that it touched you
This is beautiful.
Hello joyfiled, how are you doing today.
I truly feel like you were speaking to me. God bless you for your encouragement. I needed it . I am also a homemaker, caregiver to my 87 year old mom and 2 adorable dogs. Some days are challenging but yes with Gods grace I make it ✝️💗
please also follow the Foundamentals of homemaking, the same type of content on th-cam.com/video/pwQWc5hISpo/w-d-xo.html
Thankyou ,I feel very encouraged by this blog. May His fullness abound in you .
How beautiful and peaceful, oh my goodness , may our Jesus bless you, your family and your
precious Animals.
Tina
You have been through so much friend. You are in my heart and prayers
God bless you sister in Christ 💓
