Thank you ! ! Spot on for me... as someone who has a LD, maintaining access to information and providing it when needed has proven to be incredibly frustrating!

Julia, this was a perfect timing TH-cam video:
How to Quickly Calm Anxiety: 4 Tips and Tricks.
    MY TAKE AWAY:
I can see how these 4 little shifts related to my experience when I was thinking about and actually cutting my own hair yesterday.
I wouldn’t say it gave me lots of anxiety but I was a little nervous for sure. I did change the language. “I GET to try and cut my own hair.” and I continues to think in a kind way to counter my anxious thoughts “I feel nervous now and that is okay. If I mess up, my hair will always grow back. I will just try and have fun with it.” I did look at my anxious thoughts, “I could mess up my hair. It will look terrible” but messing up hair isn’t actually catastrophic. And lastly, even though I did mess up, I was pretty close! I did a good job cutting my own hair with using only #3 guard. It wasn’t until I took the guard off to trim behind my ears, that when going back to the top of my head, I FORGOT to put the guard back on cut a chunk of hair so I add to just shave it all off. I may not have got the outcome that I wanted, but I did get the lesson that I needed. Moral of my story - don't forget to put the guard back on! LOL I can just laugh at it.

    ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
I felt really nostalgic seeing those old photos of you when you used to go live on periscope! I remember those days! Haha. I have followed your social media accounts since 2016! 8 years now!
    Here are my notes:
*Anxiety and excitement show up in the same physiological way in our bodies.
*The only thing that makes anxiety and excitement different is our thoughts.
*They are NOT the same emotion but do bring up the same feelings.
    What do we do?
    SHIFT 1:
*Change the language. Instead of saying "I have to…" Rephrase it as "I get to..."
    SHIFT 2:
*Say or think in a kind way to counter anxious thoughts "I feel nervous right now, but I am okay. This is just something I need to do to get used to it. Just part of the process."
    SHIFT 3:
*To look at those anxious thoughts. What thoughts are causing the anxiety, worry or nervousness? Do you say, "This is awful." or "I am going to make a fool out of myself." or "People are going to be judging me." or "I am going to fail."…etc
*Anxious thoughts don't mean something will be catastrophic.
    SHIFT 4:
*When things are hard, that is when we grow. We don't grow when things are easy. Don't see it in all-or-nothing way, it isn't "I am going to be great or I am going to fail" it is " I am either going to get the outcome that I want, or the lesson I need." Remember it is, "I am either going to win, or I am going to learn."

All through your story I am saying "me too!" I cut my own hair and as I'm laying everything out, the big clipper and clipper combs of the lengths I plan to use, the Peanut clipper and the four clipper combs for it, my four shears, my spoonie ended small scissors, an old toothbrush for clearing hair out of the clippers, and sometimes hair clips and other items to do a certain cut, I'm excited as this is always an adventure, and at the same time shaking life a leaf. Yes, the key thought is "It will grow back." The late Bob Ross, America's painting teacher on PBS, said "There are no mistakes, there are just happy little accidents." And those are lessons. And I too, forgot to put the clipper comb #2 onto the Peanut, put no clipper comb, and proceeded to trim my girl sideburns and over my ears. Hmmm, that feels funny, look in the mirror and I have totally shaved all those areas, shaved to the skin! It was not attractive but I laughed as it was so funny, I was so excited that I wasn't paying attention to the details, as my mind was on the end result and a photo of a hair model that I was trying to copy. Well, shaved the right side of my head, might as well do the left to match. Nobody ever said anything, they probably thought I was going punk! It is good that you will try again and eventually you will gain skill and, if you pay attention to your clipper combs, have only other happy little accidents!

Perfectionism tells me that my drawings has to be perfect, my design work needs to stand out, my Minecraft city build needs to be complex and big (yes, I am building a city in Minecraft), I cannot disappoint anyone, etc. I can see how thinking these thoughts causes me to feel anxious. I would like to start thinking more helpful thoughts like "what I create I get to decide what my expectations would be. I can either get an outcome that I want or I will learn something. I will be good to myself and stop my negative thoughts when it shows up. Life is not about meeting expectations, it is about growth and experience." I am currently applying to numerous jobs so this will definitely come in handy.

What if you have been attacked by a person who is the same circle/group as mine . I went to the police to report the incident .... Well I got there and froze .... I felt so vunerable and scared ... I backed off ... I go to the same places as my attacker ... I can not feel happy , safe ... I feel trapped , vunerable .... How can I get over this so I can lesson the anxiety ?

Get yourself into the present moment and take deep breathes. This will help you ease any racing thoughts and help you think more clearly. You can acknowledge and show yourself understanding for your circumstance by saying something like, "I felt scared and uncomfortable and this is normal for me to react this way. It was okay for me to back off." Then I suggest asking questions that will help you move away from whoever is making you uncomfortable. Good starting questions would be something like, "how to I want to deal with this circumstance? What options are available to me? Who can I ask for help and support?" Remember to be good to yourself as I can imagine this is quite traumatic.

Putting yourself ‘out there’ is only one way of being anxious.
You can have anxiety about relationships, situations you can’t avoid, illness, money worries etc and sometimes it’s anxiety that’s always been there in the background but the slightest trigger sets it into full flow. This cannot be seen as excitement of the pleasure kind, it’s most definitely not pleasant and thinking positive thoughts isn’t always possibly when the body is in fight or flight mode

You get to decide how you want to think, and more importantly, how you want to think of yourself in those circumstances. You may not feel excited but you don't have to feel dread either. In fact, thinking helpful thoughts like "who can I go to seek help and support with," can offer a feeling of hope, even if it's temporary.
