Holy hell in a hand basket. The original is amazing but this one has some fucking Teeth. Different feel, same message. Klayton and Paul are absolute beasts.
You know, so far I've found that the ONLY remixes of Celldweller's stuff that can even come close to the originals are all by Paul Udarov. Even then, they lose a lot of the feel that make the original so good. (Like for instance, where's the masterfully applied abruptness from the original Eon and so many of the others? Anybody? Anybody at all?) At least Udarov replaces it with something that's pretty good in its own right though, so I can enjoy ones like this.
Nah, Udarov does the remixes better than the originals. Early Celldweller was more instrument-centric and blended metal and electronic music near perfectly. This is a more interesting direction than the predominantly electronic direction that Wish Upon A Blackstar took.
I 100% agree. I've been listening to Celldweller for well over 10 years now and from every musician I've listened to I have yet to find anyone who can replicate Klayton's sound. He is easily one of the most talented musicians I could name. His ability to pull off multiple different genres and music projects is a testament to that. The only bands that I personally believe to be on par with that level of skill would be Avatar and Korn, but of course I have a soft spot for Blue Stahli and many more
This is awesome. I generally don't like Klayton's stuff (I prefer Bret aka. Blue Stahli), but some remixes made of them are good. This one is one of the best songs I've found in a long time. Been looping it for hours.
