Felix Herrera It May free up a little power but you may sacrifice some torque without a tune. You can get a remote tune from a shop like admintuning for example.
Felix Herrera it’s not a must with HFCs you likely will not get a check engine light, but you’re also not going to pull the extra power out of them with a tune.
Jonathan Perez It had a completely open exhaust with no catalytic converters and the tuner was adjusting air/fuel ratio. With the right exhaust, the cars can have a tune that will throw flames. I did not get that “feature” but as part of the tuning process, it made fire lol
Didn’t “waste” any money. 319 was the base pull, not tuned. The car makes 335/280 to the wheels. That’s about 55 hp over stock. Filters, test pipes and custom catback. $600 total plus tune.
why even bother to spend money to tune 3.7? I got jb1 on my 3.0t, started with default +3 psi (butt dyno did not detect +40hp/tq), switched to +5psi and maybe I can feel the difference now from stock, but it is relatively big change in compare to your 3.7 ecutek tune - from 300/295 to 355/375. Changed nothing else, just inline tuner I can remove in 2 minutes any time - $470
Ihor Bilyy Unfortunately we can’t pull all that much extra out of the 3.7 if we stay NA. If we were to throw twin turbos or a SC on, the 3.7 is a real animal. And there are no plug and play timers available for the 3.7. Since there isn’t really anything to adjust, like boost, there isn’t much to do. The 3.7 actually only makes 280ish to the wheels stock, so with mods and a tune I picked up a little over 50hp, which is good. The tune really is for optimization purposes-to really pull everything out of your mods. And it’s necessary if you go with test pipes. However, as I say in the video, my suggestion after going through all of this process would be to go with high flow cats rather than test pipes and avoid spending the money on the tune. But I’d also point out that the ecutek tune on the dyno is much more refined than a jb1 or jb4. It is tailored specifically to the car and isn’t as simple as a boost adjustment to it is much more consistent through the powerband. So it is a lot of money for only 30-50 hp, but it is a clean tune that really does maximize the benefit of each modification.
@@RobertGrant80 RedSport is rated 400hp with exactly same 3.0, same turbos, much more psi. 2 pumps and bigger heat exchanger are the only key differences. Get bigger heat exchanger (good idea anyway) if car is going to spend a lot of time in higher rpms. The chances to blow up with less psi are less than stock RS
@@RzVids if you’re not tuned, installing test pipes will mess things up causing the car to run funny. You can lose power, you can lose low end torque the car can just be sluggish overall. They are pretty well dialed and can be sensitive if you throw off the ecu with new parts.

Same problem in my 370z it’s way too loud it’s driving me nuts
Pretty crazy how loud these cars can get. I used to run mustangs with headers no cats and only chambered mufflers and they weren’t this loud!
Speed Culture Studios I like the idle and the low rpms but like you said when you get up in the rpms having fun the rasp is just ear piercing. Especially in my z It doesn’t have much sound proofing like the infinitis. I used to have a g37s coupe and it didn’t bug me much now when I get to 6k rpm it vibrates my whole body with ear piercing rasp
Timothy Hubbard add a couple vibrant ultra quiet resonators, it’s like $100 to have one welded in including buying it.....
@@sleeper.simulant7327 I have my g 37 tuned will the pops still be there with the vibrant resonators
@@aceboogey7830 no they won’t, all they do is get rid of rasp and cut interior drone, they don’t really quiet your exhaust down either, just alters the pitch to a deeper more pleasant exhaust note
I have the flowmaxx axleback my car is bone stock but i heard you say and ive seen a few people say the same thing about these cars having like 285 whp stock i want to get to the 310 that you mentioned will adding the hi flow cats get me there.. really paying attention to the dollars haha.. 310 for the 3.7 seems about ok with me
With high flow cats and a tune you will make 310 I’m sure of it.
@@SpeedCultureStudios no tune shops near me what am i looking at with no tune and the hi flow cats you recommend are no longer avilable.. what other cats do you recommend.. thanks man!! Speed culture all the way
@@SpeedCultureStudios also trying to avoid the tune but is that a must after the hi flow cats??
Felix Herrera It May free up a little power but you may sacrifice some torque without a tune. You can get a remote tune from a shop like admintuning for example.
Felix Herrera it’s not a must with HFCs you likely will not get a check engine light, but you’re also not going to pull the extra power out of them with a tune.
Taking the resonated test pipes off the Z. Too damn loud
Just add some resonators down stream to tone it down!
How did you get it to shoot flames ?
Jonathan Perez It had a completely open exhaust with no catalytic converters and the tuner was adjusting air/fuel ratio. With the right exhaust, the cars can have a tune that will throw flames. I did not get that “feature” but as part of the tuning process, it made fire lol
how much money u wasted to get to 319 whp with a tune
Didn’t “waste” any money. 319 was the base pull, not tuned. The car makes 335/280 to the wheels. That’s about 55 hp over stock. Filters, test pipes and custom catback. $600 total plus tune.
@@SpeedCultureStudios what test pipes and y pipe did u have?
@@SpeedCultureStudios what mods do i have to get to reach 319 whp
@@streetrace8995 where are you getting 319? Why do you keep saying that? I told you what mods.
why even bother to spend money to tune 3.7?
Why 3.7.
Because i can smash it and if i blow the motor i can go to the junk yard and get one with 10k miles for around 1k....
All you jb4 users is going to blow ya engines
@@RobertGrant80 RedSport is rated 400hp with exactly same 3.0, same turbos, much more psi. 2 pumps and bigger heat exchanger are the only key differences. Get bigger heat exchanger (good idea anyway) if car is going to spend a lot of time in higher rpms. The chances to blow up with less psi are less than stock RS
@@ibilyy bruh i know that lol I have a tuned 3.0 but the JB4 isn't a real tune, just a piggy I didn't feel safe getting it so I went with the Ecutek
Took my test pipes off. I couldn’t accelerate for shit on the low end.
Need to tune with test pipes
@@SpeedCultureStudios Do you know why it would my cause my car to not accelerate as hard as it should?
@@RzVids if you’re not tuned, installing test pipes will mess things up causing the car to run funny. You can lose power, you can lose low end torque the car can just be sluggish overall. They are pretty well dialed and can be sensitive if you throw off the ecu with new parts.
Do you have the stock intake ?
You gotta check out the rest of my videos brother. I have shown every part I’ve installed and changed and tested etc.
z1 intake tubes and drop in filters.
Sucks you didn’t get a 3.0t you could turn that frown upside down lol
Rickyohh no no not disappointed in the numbers. Disappointed in how it sounds. Still sounds better than a 3.0 haha. Just kidding
@@SpeedCultureStudios Don't let those 3.0 turbo sounding diesel dudes get to ya. That VQ comes alive in the long-run.
