Wow, Denise! Already beautiful, you now look 20 years younger! I, too have transformed my life, weight & health via clean keto. Truly a miracle to be in better shape than any phase of my life, 110 lbs lighter and "normal" feeling, at 62.
👏 I need to get back on keto. I did really well on it but my hubby didn't really enjoy it. Lol When you get too busy you go for the quick & easy which is usually unhealthy.
Thank you, Thank you Thank you ,so very very much. I did not know this and i have worn wigs about 4 years now. This helps alot. i wear only bobs. This is Brilliant.
Hey Denise! This was really helpful. I love Fiery Copper, just haven't been brave enough to get one yet! I don't know if I've shared this with you before but L'ange has a tool called the Le Duo. It's like a flat iron on the plates but the outer casing is a round barrel that blows cool air so if you use it like a curling iron it makes a curl and sets it all at once! I've used it a lot on my heat friendly pieces to change or reset a style and it's works like a DREAM!! No holding curls waiting for them to cool. It's like one and done, easy peasy lemon squeezy!! I don't work for L'ange and get nothing at all for recommending it, I just like to share it to make this journey easier for my wig sisters! God bless!!
This video is so timely. I have an Upstage that's frayed and clumping. I will be purchasing that brush. You are such a bright light. Thank you so much for all that you give to us.
Thanks I really needed this information 😢 I used my topper this weekend for my daughter’s wedding and had it styled with a stylist. It came out so nice but she put so much product in. I washed it off and was trying to style it and it looks fried from the ends 😮 I almost threw it away! So I’ll try all your tips ❤thanks!
Thanks for all that you do! I’ve learned a lot and for the first time I feel that I’m looking natural in my wigs rather than like having a nest perched on my head!
So true re: those heat friendly pieces! I knew they needed heat here and there, but didn't realize how often for the longer, 16" styles, would need heat. I bit the bullet and took my Belle Tress Tea Leaf and Straight Press pieces and flat ironed them good! And know what? I was going to give them away but the heat beating I have 'em really worked to make them silky soft again. Who knew? I did have to work to get a soft wave back into Tea Leaf, but at least I have them looking good again...not perfect like brand new, but still good.
OMIGOSH...Ive been using wigs for over 3 years and never knew this! Suddenly my wigs would be frayed and a mess......I use wavy wigs that are longer. You may have just saved all my favorite wigs!
Looks great and thank you for this tutorial. I agree it’s much trickier to heat treat curly heat resistant fibers. After watching somebody else’s tutorial , I straighten my RW Wavy Day with my heat comb tool. My heat comb is especially sold for synthetic wigs. It really straightened the fibers - but also the perma tease ! Just letting you know that afterwards it was not a good look because you could see through to the wefts . Do not know how to put the wig back together again 😢
Another great educational video. I learned a lot. I was just trying to fix this problem and was struggling with it. Thank you for all the time you put into these videos. Your videos are the best.
Hi Wig Sister! I am currently not a wig wearer, and after watching TH-cam wig videos, wondering why not. I find your videos so informative and helpful. It’s definitely like a whole new language and lots things to know. You are awesome, and I have already learned so much from you! Thank you so much for your content, your honesty, and your supportive nature.
I absolutely LOVE this wig and color on you! I've been binge-watching your videos the past few days because I have developed alopecia areata and hair loss. This is my favorite wig on you! You are so pretty in all of them but this one, wow! Can't say enough. If I can find a wig like this for me, I will be so happy.
Denise...AMAZING! Thank you so much 💓 I have 2 Advanced French Wigs that I'm just beside myself with. Was going to throw them out. But I think I'll try some heat. They are both relatively new! Then the frizz began and I didn't know how to handle it since o washed them and in the box they went! I think I'll revisit them now..I have a steamer, hot air brush and flat iron. Will definitely look into that brush that you have. Will be messaging you today..you are so amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent! Just sent this to a friend to help her. I love your content Denise. I have the Revlon blow dryer brush similar to that and it gets so hot is is hard to use. It burns my ears and hands. I’m going to try this one.
So pretty and that color is SO flattering to you! Thank you for this video! I wanted to say, as a thrift shopper, you can often find many of those tools at thrift stores ☺
This is so helpful! Trying to find my first wig and think I will return my wavy, heat-friendly bob for a straight one. I pretty sure an easier piece will make my wig journey more successful!
Oh my goodness! Nobody ever told me I needed to take heat to the RW heat-friendly wigs I bought. I made the mistake of buying the RW Editor's Elite Pick as my first wig. So I had a stylist thin it & trim it but the curls got nasty, even after I washed it in downy & added a dab of oil. So it sits in a box. I stick with Upstage & Crowd Pleaser, and again trim & thin to my face. I also made the mistake of straightening one of them & thought I could curl it again because I watched a video stating the wig will return to its style..... which is true for washing it but not if you use a flat iron. THX DENISE!!!!
The tricky part about Editor's Pick is that if you do what I did here you will straighten out the curl pattern... I actually talk about this in this video using Editor's Pick: th-cam.com/video/Ma2dBwjKElk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OMoWYuDqNwZNArqf
Hello sweetie! That looks so natural on you! The color is amazing as well. Thank you for explaining how to care for HF wigs. Is there any way you could possibly take a picture of the wig outside? I am loving that color. Or do you have a review of it already?
Wow, thank you. I needed this. I have 2 heat friendly, one needs touching up and the other is new, need to wake her up in every way. I didn’t have a clue what to do with them. so they’ve been sitting around waiting.
Holy cow thank you for linking to the hot comb review! I just got it and it works phenomenally! I used it on my Flirt Alert and it was so easy and the results were awesome! Thank you for all that you do Denise! ❤️😍
Denise you look so beautiful! You've lost SO much weight. You look great, and I hope you feel as good as you look. I need help with my wig choice and learning to accept how I look in them. I feel like i look ridiculous. 😢I am not having an easy time with this journey. Lots of love Diane
Thank you for this video! I’d sworn off Raquel Welch wigs due to this exact problem. They’re very dense but they look SO good & keep their style great😄! This is beyond helpful! More than 1/2 my wigs are HD. I thought that HD meant NOT to use Heat! 🤪
You are so welcome! I have another short one that needs help desperately... I might film that one and show how washing it and then using heat can transform a wig. I might use a different heat tool on that one as well. To be honest, I LOVE these shorter straight heat friendly wigs. When I am in the mood for short I ALWAYS choose those, even over human hair. They are just so easy and look so good!
Do you have a video explaining how to style synthetic hair with hair dryer? When I bought the wig it was perfectly styled, but after the first wash it became straight
So I bought a heat friendly long curled wig a few weeks ago because I knew nothing about wigs. I’ve worn it once but now I’m worried about how to care for it to keep it looking good.
This is such a cute Bob style Denise! I think it might just be the style Im looking for. I have Ignite and I’m getting used to it. Although I’m not sure about the permatease . It seems like more of a out on the town type or buisness. I dont get out much and I no longer am able to work. I’m thing this wig your wearing is more too f a daily style. Throw on for dr apts etc… if you have any others in a bob style that is also straight that can be worn with a headband , please let me know! Thank you so much!
I just got hairmail #50 I think that’s going to get thrown in the won’t wear ! It’s orchid and s&p but it’s not at all the bright white it looked like . But the wefts are awful I’ve never seen them like this . I bought it on clearence onky another 100$ down the drIn😢
Wow Denise you look fantastic! I haven’t been on You Tube in a while and just came across this video. Straight Up With a Twist is now on my list! Pretty style. Thanks for the tips!
I was told no brushing because bristles damage fibers. Its why we use wide tooth combs, so I even bought a new brush because mine is like yours, your blow brush has bristles. Isn’t this damaging?
Thank you for creating this video. I am a new wig wearer. I haven’t purchased one yet because I’m on the fence of HF fibers vs regular synthetic. My entire purpose for purchasing a wig is to have a long, curled or wavy style because my bio hair does not do that. I don’t really plan on purchasing multiple wigs. Maybe I’ll add another eventually but, I’m really not planning on it right now. These wigs are expensive. Synthetic wigs are even more expensive than HF. I realize they take a lot of care but, are the long and wavy ones that bad I just shouldn’t even consider it at all? I don’t plan to wear this wig daily or even weekly. I’m leaning towards buying a HF long wig because it’s probably going to be my only wig for a long time. Would buying a HF long wig in a straight style that I curl myself be better? I’m struggling with making a $300-$500 purchase when I hear that I might absolutely regret it and waste my money as a brand new wig wearer. Any thoughts? :/
I got one of those "wide tooth brushes" because I was struggling with my synthetic (not HD) JR Angelique as it is a longer length and after wearing it, it would get so tangled the JR wide tooth comb just wasn't dealing with the tangles and knots. I don't know if it was my technique or what, but with regular use to remove the the knots, the brush stretched the fibres something awful, and by the end of the month it was unwearable- more like a coarse broom than a synthetic wig. I had thought I was being gentle...but it didn't work. Wish I knew if it was just my bad technique or the brush, or a combination of various things. But I did stop using the brush after that. Maybe only works for shorter wigs?🤔
Thank you! I have trouble doing this for my wavy and curly wigs. When they frizz and fray I don’t know how to take the heat brush to them without losing the wave! Help!
Hello Denise. This is such a great site especially living in UK as we just don't have this type of help and advice. I was just wondering how you get the lace to sit so flat at the front. I wear a Raquel Welch heat resistant wig with a wig band but the lace always ends up lifted at the front. Am I doing something wrong?
I have a RW. Topper. I have hardly worn it but it just feels dirty and the hair doesn’t move. How do I get it back to being soft again. I think maybe I put too much dry shampoo on it. A would appreciate your advice and time
Thank you so much. Seems like RW tangles more than others more in Bobs and in longer hair. Do you have that impression? I know longer hair will anyway.
I have RW Fascination which is pretty short, it looks like I have clumps of hair on, would this work on a short wig? I don't wear her because of the clumps,
I love my heat friendly wigs, although I’ve been procrastinating about taking heat to them. I have a couple of my well-loved short wigs that need heat ASAP. I have all the tools, except a flatiron (don’t you have a favorite that you talked about in one of your videos?) It’s just a matter of getting things set up to do it. Actually, at this point, I’d rather clean a toilet than heat-style my wigs. Ha
This is a great video Denise!!! Thank you! I was finally able to get a wig…Ignite HF wig. So happy with it but the front ends are getting sticky and clumpy. Would that large air dryer you are using work for that or is it going to be too large?
Curious question...my Ellen Wille Anima is a bit stiff and not so flowy. Can I just pass some steam over her but not comb her per se? She has a fabulous noodley spiral curl going on (with sea salt spray) but she's not very moveable. Does that make sense?
Sometimes, you put in a mention of a product in the description, but there's no way to follow the link and no way to copy and paste it either. For example, the beachwaver.
I’ve avoided Raquel Welch heat friendly because I have watched reviews that mentioned they have a smell to them. I am extremely sensitive to scents. Can anyone comment on their experience with this? Has it been an issue, or not? 🙏💕
@@heywigsister Thank you! I’ve never had an issue with Jon Renau, Estetica, HM, Envy (all not heat friendly except for an Envy Blend). Do you notice a scent difference with RW? It’s the only brand I’ve seen it mentioned in reviews.
Hi. Great video. Should you spray with a heat protecting spray before using a hot air brush or straightening irons and if so is there a product you’d recommend? Thank you. ❤
I like to use only water when using a hot air brush, but I would definitely use a heat protectant when using a flat iron or a curling iron. Jon Renau makes a heat treat that works well... it is spendy but it lasts a very very long time. Here is a link: amzn.to/3StRCsM
I'm a newbie. I thought heat-friendly meant it would tolerate heat, not that it actually needed heat on a regular basis. Can you toss the wig into its hairnet that it came in and put it into the clothes dryer and just let it bounce around for 5 minutes on high heat? Don't laugh but I don't want to mess with blow dryers and all that nonsense. I didn't like doing it with my real hair much either. You look wonderful, btw. Keto?
Hi! I see you found my keto video... I would not try putting it in the dryer... all that bouncing around could cause more fraying and tangles. I thought the same thing you did about heat friendly wigs, but the truth is that they do need regular heat to keep the fibers smooth. Shorter wigs like this one need it much less frequently than longer wigs... it is the friction that really gets to them. Rubbing on clothing is really hard on them.
Wow, Denise! Already beautiful, you now look 20 years younger! I, too have transformed my life, weight & health via clean keto. Truly a miracle to be in better shape than any phase of my life, 110 lbs lighter and "normal" feeling, at 62.

Very informative thanks Denise I can't wait to see this on curly and wavy styles I don't wear straight 💖
Your videos are always so informative and easy to follow! Keep up the good work!
Leave in wig conditioner works great for curly synthetic units.
Love that wig! And it looks super on you too!🤗
Me, too! They finally came out with some grays, which are apparently much in demand and hard to come by.
perfect timing! i need to refresh my wig and was just thinking i needed to search your archives. you read my wig need mind lol
You always look so fantastic! You are such an inspiration. The knowledge you relay is truly appreciated!

Awesome video!! The hot air brush worked wonders on the ends😵 Very helpful information🙏❤👀
How do you refresh the ends of wavy/curly styles? Thank you for the great tips!

How do I know if my wig is heat friendly
Wow Denise you look fantastic! I haven’t been on You Tube in a while and just came across this video. Straight Up With a Twist is now on my list! Pretty style. Thanks for the tips!
You bet, and THANK YOU!
Denise this is so helpful. I want to love heat friendly. So far noi doing good with them yet! Thank you
What's the advantage of a hot air brush vs a CoolFlow wand?
Great video Denise, thank you.
No matter what I have tried, I cannot get rid of the clumpy ends, and these wigs are not even 2 months old. Really frustrating.
Thank you in advance❤❤
Such a cute wig on you! Love it.
Can i do this on a wig head? I would never be able to keep my wig from slipping
Sweet personality and very helpful!
Thank you! 😃
I've learned so much valuable information from you! God bless you!❤
Thank you! I have trouble doing this for my wavy and curly wigs. When they frizz and fray I don’t know how to take the heat brush to them without losing the wave! Help!
Hey Siri, what is the curly long week that you wearing your pre-add before this video I love it! Thank you!
Hello ! Mais comment avez-vous fixé votre perruque pour qu'elle ne bouge pas quand vous passez la brosse ?
I have a RW. Topper. I have hardly worn it but it just feels dirty and the hair doesn’t move. How do I get it back to being soft again. I think maybe I put too much dry shampoo on it. A would appreciate your advice and time
You’re looking so good Denise!!
Thank you so much. Seems like RW tangles more than others more in Bobs and in longer hair. Do you have that impression? I know longer hair will anyway.
The beachwaver link is not active from what I am seeing (I can't click it) ... Do you no longer recommend them?
So could I use my Shark dryer with the round brush attachment? Would it work the same way?
You look amazing! And thanks voor all the helpfull advices💕
Need reassurance that it’s ok to use heat tools and brushes on wet fibers on HF synthetics. Thanks
I wouldn't use them on WET fibers.... only slightly damp.
Thank you. So helpful!
Hi, I have learned a lot from you.... How do I get one of those beachwaver blow out comb, brush kits???
This is a fabulous tutorial. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
denise what is a wig that is like this but alittle longer in racheal welch line do u no derar thanku xo
Do you use heat protection before using heat on the heat friendly synthetic wigs?
Damn maybe i need to start wearing a wig you look amazing ❤
I have RW Fascination which is pretty short, it looks like I have clumps of hair on, would this work on a short wig? I don't wear her because of the clumps,
I love my heat friendly wigs, although I’ve been procrastinating about taking heat to them. I have a couple of my well-loved short wigs that need heat ASAP. I have all the tools, except a flatiron (don’t you have a favorite that you talked about in one of your videos?)
It’s just a matter of getting things set up to do it. Actually, at this point, I’d rather clean a toilet than heat-style my wigs. Ha
Por favor traducir el vídeo 😢
This is a great video Denise!!! Thank you! I was finally able to get a wig…Ignite HF wig. So happy with it but the front ends are getting sticky and clumpy. Would that large air dryer you are using work for that or is it going to be too large?
How long does it take for the ends of the wig to fray in that way ?
Curious question...my Ellen Wille Anima is a bit stiff and not so flowy. Can I just pass some steam over her but not comb her per se? She has a fabulous noodley spiral curl going on (with sea salt spray) but she's not very moveable. Does that make sense?
Should the wig be fresh washed before i do this styling?
Sometimes, you put in a mention of a product in the description, but there's no way to follow the link and no way to copy and paste it either. For example, the beachwaver.
What is the name of your wig?
Thank you for this video. Very helpful. You lost some weight! Looking great. Congrats
How do I find the links?
How hot does our brush get?

To be honest I think most synthetic wigs have a smell to them that I have deemed the synthetic wig smell.
@@heywigsister Thank you! I’ve never had an issue with Jon Renau, Estetica, HM, Envy (all not heat friendly except for an Envy Blend). Do you notice a scent difference with RW? It’s the only brand I’ve seen it mentioned in reviews.
I think this has convinced me to stay away from heat friendly wigs. Maybe much later.
@@heywigsister thank you very much for the advice. I’ll check out the link. ❤️
Hi Can I use a hair straightener for my wigs that are heat Friendly. Thank you
Hi! Yes you can! Try to keep the heat below 300 degrees to be safe.
@@heywigsister Thank you and God Bless
By the way, you are so pretty in all your wigs. Just saying.
Thank you so much!
