Didn't even realize that going to Pixar Pier first would make such a difference! Also, I thought it was funny that I too have 2 boys who are named James (3) and Benjamin (7months). Great names!
Trevor, thank you so much for your amazing videos! They came in very handy when my wife and I went to Disneyland for the first time in September. I especially love your etiquette videos. Shame we didn't get to see you in the parks. Hopefully next time!
It was great running into you and your family on Sunday! We rope dropped Radiator Springs Racers that morning and it was a posted 50 min wait time immediately but we only waited like 20 mins. I’ll chalk it up as a win!
I think that happens a lot when the park opens because they don't want to change the sign a lot, that's probably some sort of typical amount for however long it takes them to get an accurate estimate.
😊 We can't wait to go to Cali next October for our Anniversary. We have really enjoyed your content. Your family friendly format is great. We would like to see more couples focus on your content as an additional aspect to present. Ty Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I didn’t realize you jump around different areas since I don’t know where everything is situated in the park, but I think this strategy would work better for us since we have mobility limitations.
Yes, usually we criss cross the park 2-4 times in a day. Chasing low wait times. Like if I know Spider-Man is usually 45 minutes and I see it at 20 minutes, I would stop what I’m doing and go straight there to save the 25 minutes. Some folks suggested that I waste a lot of time doing that and any time savings is negated by the walking. For DCA, I would say Land-by-Land is a valid strategy. We will try this at Disneyland and see if that holds up there too. Though it’ll be a few weeks.
The trade off is that if you are able to do more walking that there are times when walking across the park saves time. But, if the issue is mobility or endurance it may not be a worthwhile tradeoff.
You should make a video on single rider rules/etiquettes. My family and I were hoping on a car for the radiator springs ride and a single rider before us refuse to ride with the group she was assigned to. A cast member kindly asked her to step out of the number line because she messed up his count and he needs to assign her to a new line. She threw a fit and he had to pull her out of the line. It’s ridiculous how people treat cast members.
We went to Disneyland last week for four days. Two of them we rope dropped Pixar pier per your advice! My loved walking on it several times both of those mornings!
My family is exhausted after a rope drop to close day at Disney and OBB night last night and I'm currently trying to get them up so we can hurry to DCA 😅 this gives me hope we can get everything done despite getting a late start, because we do have genie+ and don't mind wait chasing a little 🤞
It’s only for this one ride, so not really something I can do a whole video on. But we put it in our videos from time to time as we go about our day. And it’s not always available at this ride. As it happened in this video they weren’t when we first walked up but they said come back in 10-15 minutes.
I’ve never heard of the Buddy pass!!! Is this available on all rides or just select rides? Can 2 adults use it or is it reserved for parents with kids?? Great tip!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
What are the buildings to the left and right when you look at grizzly mill the back way coming from Ariel’s? What is their theme? What are they used for? Which land are they in? Thanks
Hello! You mention that you don’t usually use your go pro. What camera do you use? We are planning our next year’s trip with my kids from Europe. Thank you!
They used to have it at Toy Story, but it went away. That doesn’t mean it won’t ever come back, but I don’t expect it to. Monsters Inc is the only ride with Buddy Pass for now.
@@emanuellawton7942 Only Lightning Lane Single Pass (Radiator Springs Racers and Rise of the Resistance). Everything else requires Lightning Lane Multi Pass (What Genie+ turned into).
Wish i got this lucky in august! Ugh everything was over an hour. Gotg is my fave and ik theres 6 sequences and i only got to ride it once. Got to do incredi just once and i wish i got to do it again at night. Never done midway mania still, or little mermaid or monsters
I'm a lot like your family. I walk around a lot, too. And never have I done land by land. I might have to take that challenge. But definitely on a longer visit. I kinda go where my legs take me. And what the Disney app is telling me for wait times.
By mostly the end of the video (at least the portion where we said we were going to end it initially) Amy was telling me she felt like she hadn't got any exercise. 😂 We filmed a walk-around video at DCA and she doesn't usually accompany me for those, but she wanted to this time because she hadn't gotten a chance to walk around.
Yes! No problem. Age doesn’t matter. But your pairs will be split. And you aren’t guaranteed back to back vehicles. Usually it’s within a couple of cars though so that the pair that goes first shouldn’t be kept waiting too long for the second pair.
It’s funny how people are even moving slower than they seem to be in your Disneyland videos. Disneyland guests always look like they are walking with a purpose. The people here are just strolling 😂. Is it possible to do all the rides and shows/ non ride attractions in one day?
There’s not a whole lot of those in DCA. Mickey’s Philharmagic (which was in the video), Disney Jr Dance Party (my kids are too old, and the youngest is 6), Disney Animation Academy which has maybe an hours worth of stuff in it, and the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (which we also did this day, but didn’t film it). If you watch all the shows in Avengers Campus it might take you another 30-60 minutes, but they are really mostly just something to see as you happen by, rather than something you go out of your way to plan to watch, except the Spider-Man show. That one is definitely worth planning to see.
What a fun day! You're family is adorable. I love watching everyone having fun. Thanks for your videos

Loved this video and you guys too. Would love to see you do one like this in Disneyland too😁
We plan to! But it might be a few weeks as there’s a lot going on in the next few weeks that take priority.

keep up the great videos! I love to open youtube and see that SoCal Disney Dad posted a new video!

14:31 We saw what you did there, Traver 😇
Is early entry for guardians and making it to radiator springs racers before 8am doable

This is a great channel. I always enjoy watching. From a Central Ca Dad to SoCal, hell of a job.

You should be fine with Genie+. Enjoy!
Great video. Is there universal Hollywood videos plans? Looking forward!
I only make it up that way every so often. It’s further away and requires me to get a hotel which is a bit more costly.
I’ve never heard of Buddy passes! Are they available for just select rides? You should do a video just on that! 😊
It’s only for this one ride, so not really something I can do a whole video on. But we put it in our videos from time to time as we go about our day.

It’s only Monsters, and adults can use it too. It’s just intended for 2 people.

I just use my iPhone. It works just great for my purposes. I know some vloggers have fancy cameras, but I’ve never needed one.
Are there any other rides in the parks that use the buddy pass? I’ve never heard of this before. Thank you!!!!
They used to have it at Toy Story, but it went away. That doesn’t mean it won’t ever come back, but I don’t expect it to. Monsters Inc is the only ride with Buddy Pass for now.
My family when we went like 1 week ago we zipped everywhere oh we have a lightling lane at smugglers run ok lets. We were at Star Tours :)
Yes, that’s what we usually do. 😂
Nice I’m trying this
Can you book lightning lanes without Genie +?
@@emanuellawton7942 Only Lightning Lane Single Pass (Radiator Springs Racers and Rise of the Resistance). Everything else requires Lightning Lane Multi Pass (What Genie+ turned into).
We zigzag too based on low wait times. Last time I had 28k 😂
I like going land by land, there is less walking. 😊
You walked by us yesterday, but I was too late to realise.
Can you buy an individual lightning lane without buying *former* genie+? (Sorry, I forgot the new name 😅)
Yes. You don't need Lightning Lane Multi Pass (new name) to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass. It's an a la carte purchase.

@@SoCalDisneyDad love that.
Curious if DCA can be done in 1-day during Christmas week
With Genie+, yes. I believe so.
So you can do all Dca in a day?! Wow! Quick question: Is the buddy pass for 2 adults? Or only adults with children?
2 adults is fine. It’s just two people.
Hey guys….. we are a family of 4 ( 2 adult children) are we able to get 2 buddy pass at the same time even tho we are all adults? Thank you 😊
Yes! No problem. Age doesn’t matter. But your pairs will be split. And you aren’t guaranteed back to back vehicles. Usually it’s within a couple of cars though so that the pair that goes first shouldn’t be kept waiting too long for the second pair.

Aloha I HATE Goofy's sky school! Don't like the mouse trap format. always feel like we are going to tip on the turns.
That’s half the fun. 🤣
