Traver, I really appreciate all those menu shots. Thank you so much! Great info. Sad about the giant candy bar. That was on my list. Thanks again.
Me too. It was it my top 5 favorite Disney snacks between both parks.
I love your honesty!!!
this video was AWESOME and exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!!!
C’mon! Don’t sleep on the fried cheddar at Corndog Castle!
thank you so much! I’m going to Disneyland for the first time in 4 days! I’m so excited
Thank you so much for this. I will try this out.
Thanks for the video - very informative
Thank you for the helpful video and your honest opinion😀
Thank you for the video
Please can you do this for Downtown Disney and the hotels as well. I love planning on where I'm going to eat 😂
Loved these videos, keep up the good work!
This is the second request for that video, so I’ll have to work one into the schedule. I have very limited food footage for Downtown Disney. But no reason we couldn’t walk around, point out restaurants, and see if we could take a peek at menus.
The cream cheese pretzels at Bayside Brews are fabulous. You shouldn't pass over them next time.
We'll be making our first trip to DCA next week, and your video was extremely helpful. Now I know how to plan my day.
This was such a good video the way you did it!
Thank you!
I really appreciate your honest feedback of your opinion of the food, and taking into account cost. It's very helpful. I feel like some bloggers are so positive they aren't honest.
I'm pretty opinionated and never afraid to share them. 😅 I'm also not afraid to admit when I'm wrong and tomorrow's video will have both of those things in it when my rankings for Disneyland restaurants drops.
Love these kind of videos. Also, this is the first video I've watched as a new Believe Key holder so there is an actual chance that I'll get to try most of these places.😀
Awesome! Welcome to the club! May you enjoy many visits to the Happiest Place on Earth.
The ESE maddawing you recording his HyNa lmao😂 @12:56
Very good info! Great video again 👌 side note: I love James’ hat! 😎
He always gets lots of compliments on his Slinky ears. They don’t sell it anymore which is a bummer. Hope he never breaks/loses it. It’s 4 years old now I think.
Great video! love the coverage! Keep the food items coming! (don't stop all the other info though)
Where can we get the best milkshake then?! I had the maple bacon from smokejumpers Dec 23
@@GP_NW Black Tap in Downtown Disney has the good stuff.
You have a great commentary presence, voice and articulation. Except that time you couldn't say 'river' 🤔🤣
Thank you and your beautiful family for all you do for us. ❤
Yes! 😂🤣 That happened twice in the same day, just on a different syllable. As I did the mispronunciation thing in the construction update video too.
Thank you!
Thanks! Heading to DCA today and was wondering what to eat. Might have to try the Chocolate Smash Cake. Always great to see your videos. Have a great day 😊
If you try it, let me know how it is.
Hi-haven't tried the chocolate smash cake yet. I had the coffee with the red foam at Pam Test Kitchen and is was sweet enough for dessert. Nest visit, maybe this next week if we get a break in the rain. @@SoCalDisneyDad
Thank you! I always struggle with where to eat at California adventure.
Disneyland definitely has more decent options. At DCA, I usually find myself always eating at either PYM's or San Fransokyo Square as the rest of the park is fairly limiting.
We always eat at Carthay Circle both upstairs for the fine dining and the alfresco dining downstairs with patio seating as well. We've never been disappointed. The alfresco is more cost effective and occasionally they have specialties not listed on the menu like fresh fish dishes. They serve casadillas with fruit for kids and my grandaughter loves them. Brunch at Lamplight Lounge (only on weekends) is our other must do! The french toast is soooo delicious and there's enough to share. I can't eat hot dogs, burgers, and greasy food items or I'll have digestive issues so having fresh, healthier, made to order options works better for us. Thank you for covering this topic. There are some other great dining options outside of both parks around the hotels and in Downtown Disney. Tangaroa Terrace, Napa Rose, and The Great Maple are some of our favorites. Check them out! 😋
We just felt that the dish we had in the video (from Carthay), the pasta, was about on par with Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta for taste, but we paid 4x as much. So we left with a sour taste (the bill) in our mouth.
We ate there once before 8-10 years ago and had a good time, which is why I said we did have a good experience before, so ymmv.
@@SoCalDisneyDad I usually order the fish, pork chop, organic chicken, or steak dishes that have the best reviews. I also check seasonal reviews to see what is new on the menu and what the majority of people liked. You'll be less likely to make a choice that'll end in disappointment that way. It's always beneficial to ask your server their opinion. They may surprise you with an option you didn't know was available. 😊
Great video! You hit all the places! Thumbs up from me! 👍
Thank you!
Watching this all it did was make my Disney food cravings even worse 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
The struggle is real! Disney food is covered in pixie dust.
We just came back a few weeks ago. After watching your videos I want to go back already lol
Get another trip on the books! I feel like we always have at least one trip to WDW scheduled (our Disney vacay) even if it’s more than a year out. We just always like to have something planned. 😂
Great video!
Thank you!
I’d love it if you’d do this for Downtown Disney.
@@michaelwilson6943 It’s on my radar as a video possibility. Trouble is, a good chunk of it is under construction or soon will be, plus I haven’t eaten at too many places (maybe 4 total) and thus don’t have a lot of footage. But could definitely consider just pointing out what’s there, etc.
There are SO many options at DLR and Disney wants you to think they’re all incredible. It’s really helpful to have your opinion because it helps me narrow my choices when I visit in June!
You should try the Carthy Circle Alfresco. We have never been disappointed with their food. The beef skewers are amazing!
I was thinking that I might have to do that this year. Since it's a bit more on the affordable end.
Great video! Thank you! We just got our Magic Keys and can’t wait to start using them. Have you done a magic Key tips video?
I have not. What type of tips would you be looking for? Just like an overview of making reservations and the ins and outs of it? Perhaps highlighting different Magic Key benefits?
The trouble is Magic Keys aren't always for sale, so it would be much easier to do that type of video if anyone could buy them any time.
I think highlights of benefits. You’re right since they are only available once in a while it may not be worth it for you. Side note I do hope they make it a less stressful experience s😂😂😂 but I definitely don’t want to let it lapse now. lol that was a really intense 6.5 hours in the queue.
@@kristenhoskin5822 Disney has MAJOR issues with their sales process. No other company makes you wait for hours just to have the chance to buy something.
But they do this with EVERY event. If you want to buy tickets to a special nighttime event, be prepared to wait all day in a queue.
My favorite places where my family and I ate on our recent vacation were Carthay Circle (ate there twice) and Cocina Cucamonga (tacos and that amazing street corn)! I was disappointed in the lack of seating during the festival of the holidays though.
Glad you had a better experience than we did at Carthay. I do have fond memories eating there 10ish years ago, but when we tried it again this last time, we just felt like we'd eaten overpriced average food we could have gotten at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta for 20% of the cost. But it might have totally just been whatever we ordered.
surprised the food price is more reasonable than most ski resorts. lol
Yumm yumm im debating going to dca now instead of Disney just to get the food
A lot of people like the food more over at DCA. Especially when it comes to food festivals.
I liked the choco smash bar more than the cake, but the cake is still ok.
I'll still have to try it soon. Is it as large/filling? Or is it more for one person this time?
Hi love your videos thank you! Headed there end of February- where would be the best place for my hubby to get the best vanilla thick shake (think you still call them thick shakes - we are from Australia)
Keen to get him one
So any of our milkshakes will be the same as what you call a thick shake (lived in Australia for a year and found this out for myself 🤣).
Also, found out that mint shakes and mint ice cream tasted like toothpaste in AU. Not a fan. 😂
The BEST place to get a milkshake is Black Tap in Downtown Disney. You can get the shake inside the restaurant, or at their Crazy Shake window outside at the far end of the restaurant.
But restaurants in DCA that have shakes are Schmoozies, Flo’s, and Smokejumpers.
Disneyland, I don’t know. I can’t think of any.
I agree, when it comes to shakes,Black Tap in Downtown Disney.
Great thanks heaps I will make sure he gets a few to try
Question: I saw on another video that they were selling fluffy Japanese cheesecake at San Fran Tokyo do you know where I can find that??? Thanks!
That’s Aunt Cass Cafe. Though I don’t see it on their mobile order menu right now. It is listed on their main menu, but that doesn’t always mean they’ll be selling it. It never hurts to try though.
Check mobile order earlier in the day, as they might just be running low so reserved their stock for in store guests. Otherwise, standby will be the only possibility.
Hi
I'm planning a DL vacation. I wanna avoid the crowds- thought about the first few days of September 2024 -what do you think?
I plan to stay at the grand californian
If your goal is to go for Halloween, that’s fine. September is better than October.
If you just want low crowds, go before Halloween kicks off on August 23rd.
I’d say August 15-22 is like the sweet spot. One of the best times to go as a lot of local schools have gone back already.
But if you’d like to go in September, this video was filmed around September 5-7. I don’t remember the exact day:

Is there a link for Mouse Dining

So your saying eat across the street at ihop
If we are solely talking about the food on Buena Vista Street and Sunset Blvd, 💯. 😂
I do like the food deeper in the park, though.
I wana experience the lunar ny fest food sooo bad
It’s my favorite of the festivals when it comes to food offerings.
@@SoCalDisneyDad yeah! Id love to go but lots of the rides are closed during that season right so eh. Rides are the most important part to me
Did he cover the coco restaurant?
Coco restaurant? There is no Coco restaurant. At least not here. A Google search turned up that there’s one in Disneyland Paris. Perhaps that’s what you’re thinking of?
Thanks for these helpful videos! Just FYI, it is pronounced KAY-sa BEER-ee-ah (roll the R if you can) 😄
yum agree. traver do you know when Tianas bayou adventure is opening?. they say 2024 but do you know the moth. just wondering. your mi favorite Disneyland TH-camr. I live in mexico and when I go to Disneyland its awesome so I really like to plan mi trip well. oh im 14 years old
I believe I saw somewhere “Late 2024” so I would guess November, possibly right before Christmas season begins. But it’s just a guess.
Thanks for being awesome and watching!
thank you @@SoCalDisneyDad
I’m confused on the Lamplighter…I just read an article saying go up to the cast member at the door and ask to go upstairs and they would take you up to a lounge…is this true or do you know…really want to go there next month and just have a drink and enjoy the view
So there is a bar both upstairs and downstairs. One for the Boardwalk and one for the main “Lounge”
The Boardwalk is ONLY walk up, it doesn’t accept reservations. That’s the upstairs portion.
Usually the way I look at it is people try to reserve Lamplight Lounge (downstairs), but when they’re unsuccessful, walk up (upstairs) is still an option.
However, it’s entirely plausible that you ONLY want to be upstairs, so yes, walk up and talk to a cast member is what you’d want to do there.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you…looking forward to my week there…cheers
Since you're a milkshake snob, where do you go for a fantastic milkshake?
Black Tap in Downtown Disney. They're the best shakes in the whole resort. They even have a separate window around the back of the restaurant just for their CrazyShakes.
you have an amazing wife
Just wondering why you don't say much about the alcohol options? I'm assuming it's because you don't drink yourself, but lots of people do....I mean I would never eat a vegan meal but you go on and on about those meals.
Ah yes the classic "im old so anything different scares me" have fun with the heart disease and liver failure from your steak and beer diet
I guess you're a non-drinker since you barely mention the places that serve alcohol. Would have appreciated some sort of detail for those places.
I appreciate not having to sit through alcohol reviews. Some other fave Vlogs devote a ton of time to drinks that don't interest me at all
Then they weren't made for you. Simple
🙄
Big family war 😧🥱
I also really appreciate you skipping the alcohol reviewing. My husband and i dont drink and thats not why we are going to a family theme park.
