My nephew was listening to right wing talk radio while he worked and he'd get so worked up about stuff that wasn't even real. (This was a few years before Trump, too.) I told him that there were people paid by conservative groups to phone in and spread misinformation to get people upset. And, I added, there might be some money from pharmaceutical companies who would be making extra millions selling blood pressure pills. That last got to him, because at his last checkup he was told he'd need medication soon. He switched to a nice oldies station and his blood pressure and blood sugar have been fine since.
I should add, I have no idea if pharmaceutical companies are fueling the outrage media circus. I sort of made that up because I figured if my nephew was susceptible to conspiracies then he might as well believe something healthier.

My nephew was listening to right wing talk radio while he worked and he'd get so worked up about stuff that wasn't even real. (This was a few years before Trump, too.) I told him that there were people paid by conservative groups to phone in and spread misinformation to get people upset. And, I added, there might be some money from pharmaceutical companies who would be making extra millions selling blood pressure pills. That last got to him, because at his last checkup he was told he'd need medication soon. He switched to a nice oldies station and his blood pressure and blood sugar have been fine since.
I should add, I have no idea if pharmaceutical companies are fueling the outrage media circus. I sort of made that up because I figured if my nephew was susceptible to conspiracies then he might as well believe something healthier.
