It seems like such a small ask. Please vote. If you live in a country that affords you the right to vote, then please vote. Every one has not only the right to vote but also the responsibility. So, please vote.
The right's hard-on for a bad-ass military doesn't allow it to be effective. They don't want a military to have the information it needs to out maneuver, out supply, or out wit an enemy. The right's view of an effective military only needs to have more firepower.
Well, isn't the republican nominee striving to turn this Democracy towards an authoritarian govt thru military force or any illegal means possible? Fuck yeah they are
The double standard is the point. By Republican standards, the system exists to protect "good people" and punish "bad people", never the other way around. All of those laws lawyers and elections and stuff are intended to be used in a way that achieves that end regardless of the actual wording of the rules. If the system tries to help someone they don't like or hurt someone they do, the system is malfunctioning.
The hypocrisy of the Republican Party was what led me to stop being an Independent and becoming a Democrat 16 years ago. Their behavior since then constantly reminds me that it was the right decision.
Hi Steve, Mail-in expat from Texas voted all blue 💙. Love your ST posts too. But I also like these. Especially how you speak about these issues from the heart and not a script. You really get it right. Thanks! Live long and prosper.
I LOVED the “taking the glasses off in order to look more intellectual and studious”! It worked on me! Serious! It also helps that you ARE intellectual and studious.
After watching this video, I read “The Real Reason Donald Trump Insults the U.S. Military”by Ruth Ben-Ghiat. The article makes perfect sense and Steve Shives’ viewers can read it online.
I understand exercising the raw use of power, but man they are such whiners! Why doesn't: "He who says he is king is not the king." apply here? Its baffling honestly.
I've seen hypocrites tie themselves into knots trying to explain why it's wrong to deplatform bigots and then champion deplatforming others they disagree with.
It’s no different than their stance on “cancel culture”. They’ll talk all day about how they oppose it, how vital it is to not destroy someone’s livelihood because you disagree with their politics. But then check out what they do to people like James Gunn or The (Dixie) Chicks when they speak out against them. They LOVE cancel culture then. Can’t do it fast enough.
"Go woke, go broke" Is not so much of a reality as it is a magic spell of hopeful cancellation that MAGA losers try to cast for the purposes of coping with a failed worldview.
I voted blue all the way down the ballot. (Let's fire Ted Cruz, please.) I also skipped the races that had a Republican running unopposed. I lost count at 16. Come on, Texas dems! We couldn't find anybody to run?
I'm reminded of that so very important "rule" against presidents nominating justices to the Supreme Court in an election year... unless that president is Republican, in which case feel free to nominate two. The party of law and order is lawless and disordered.
When your operating philosophy is “the ends justify the means,” yeah - you don’t care if you’re a hypocrite. Power is all that matters, not representing. And when you want to rule, how anyone feels about it doesn’t matter.
I was attending UCLA a few years ago when students protested against an appearance by Milo Yiannopoulos. But I saw today that UCLA just hosted Ben Shapiro, who is Milo-adjacent in his views. I think Milo was just a step too far. Students at UCLA are taught that we should listen to varied viewpoints, and most do. But we can also recognize a pos when we see one.
We all have the right to free speech (not being subject to arrest/imprisonment by the government), but by the same token, no one has to be forced to listen to someone else’s BS under the threat penalty.
The only dangerous B.S. being thrown around is by the so-called Republicans, MAGA, these people are extremely violent because of the hate-filled rhetoric being thrown around by Trump & his bootlickers!! VOTE BLUE ALL THE WAY SAY NO TO TRUMP AND PROJECT 2025!!
This is appalling behavior. Their very oath requires the military to take a side, to take a stand, to actively work in opposition to those who act in favor of opposing and terminating the Constitution. That is their fundamental purpose. It appears they can be bullied into disregarding that oath. That is nothing short of shameful on their part.
You could add Ron DeSantis to the authoritarian list as well. He has literally taken 500,000 off of the voter roll. I have been a victim of this and haven't gotten anywhere because they're so swamped with people trying to find out what's going on and why. I know why and it's because I switched from R to D.
And by the way, if your state doesn't have a Democrat available on the ticket, look for an Independent. Take for example the Nebraska senate seat race between a Republican and Independent. Currently it's looking like the Independent guy has a chance.
You definitely need to vote Republicans out of office on the state and local level. If you don't, and Republicans take power in Congress, that's where they will implement the 2025 Plan; not just at the Federal level.
I've had a twitter account for several years that I almost never used for anything but to be able to see tweets. I've replied to several tweets over the last few weeks when I've felt like something was worth criticizing. Yesterday, I replied to Elon Musk's tweet to Mark Cuban about how Cuban had blocked him. I wasn't rude or crude, but I certainly wasn't flattering. My account was locked the next time I tried to log in. It was easy to unlock it, but makes me go hmm.
Not saying voting isn't a great idea, but answer me this.. What exactly would a vote, or even Kamala winning, change about the Naval Academy uninviting Professor Ben-Ghiat? Right-wingers would still be in position of strange power, to convince our Military Academies to uninvite a lecturer. Whoever or however this came about, needs to be examined and brought to light. Institutions shouldn't be caving to the demands of outsiders or alumni, that hinge solely on a person's political views. Some sort of strange corruption is happening when one of the most prestigious institutions can be manipulated in such a manner.
It would set things on the right path as Trump would be free to be indicted and arrested and JD Vance’s career will be over as he’s never voted into congress again. Another Trump may arise but we will be better prepared to deal with them

You can never be justified and they can never be wrong.
The glasses thing is a great transition between quoting and elaborating. 👍
It's for emphasis. - Oscar Goldman
It takes away the barrier between his eyes and the camera, so the impression of Eye Contact is intensified. Approved. 👍
Hi Steve,
Mail-in expat from Texas voted all blue 💙.
The hypocrisy has been naiseating for all of us 💙💙💙🇨🇦
voted yesterday 💙
Every accusation is a confession.
Get out and vote dem
After watching this video, I read “The Real Reason Donald Trump Insults the U.S. Military”by Ruth Ben-Ghiat. The article makes perfect sense and Steve Shives’ viewers can read it online.
Because Donnie dumbass wasn't man or woman enough to serve. He hates the word "serve" unless he's being "served."
Election winners of the majority party make the laws, determine the punishments, set the tax brackets, and shape the judiciary. Vote BLUE.
Thank you brother - keep shining your honest light..
I understand exercising the raw use of power, but man they are such whiners!
Why doesn't: "He who says he is king is not the king." apply here? Its baffling honestly.
There’s telling on yourself and then there’s this disgraceful bullshit.
Self snitchin' = Master level
The glasses move was very Glenn Kirschner 😁
Vote, vote, vote BLUE!
Progressives havd also been awol in educating voters on the issues as well.
So good to see lots from you today.
Go Trump go! And never come back!
This is because the GOP lives by one ideology that they never stray from “Rules for thee not for me”.
I voted blue all the way down the ballot. (Let's fire Ted Cruz, please.) I also skipped the races that had a Republican running unopposed. I lost count at 16. Come on, Texas dems! We couldn't find anybody to run?
I see that on my ballot as well. I vote none of the above. I may not have a candidate to vote for but I can still vote against.
Send ol' Teddy the message he needs to Cruz his butt on out of politics.
It would have been nice if they had vetoed B. Shaprio too. He is a N@hsi too and that is sick.
I hate that i missed midterm elections. I'm voting early tomorrow blue 💙 to save democracy 💙 !
I voted!
Its so horrowing how they will just cluelessly practice this level of hypocrisy.
I already voted now I can only hope it's enough
And by the way, if your state doesn't have a Democrat available on the ticket, look for an Independent. Take for example the Nebraska senate seat race between a Republican and Independent. Currently it's looking like the Independent guy has a chance.
That is a prime example of doublethink
You definitely need to vote Republicans out of office on the state and local level. If you don't, and Republicans take power in Congress, that's where they will implement the 2025 Plan; not just at the Federal level.
Can you book her? It will be nice to hear her speech; and point of view. She sounds like a fascinating person!"😊❤
She has a newsletter you can sign up for. And she is out there on TV.

Telling on themselves.
Another Trump may arise but we will be better prepared to deal with them
@@infinitivez I think Steve is saying that under a Trump presidency that behavior like this would only become more entrenched and may weaponize government power to do so. But I agree, the work on issues like this doesn't necessarily stop on November 5th.
BRAVO! Steve Hives⚡️💪🏻🔥
Great video👍 ✌️ & 💛 always
to/and for you & yours.💕
You had me at ‘do you like how I take my glasses off?’
Hubba hubba
A little of his history we all should know.
But what if my Democrat option for governor is just a republican who switched parties because he hates Trump? I guess I'm still voting for him, but I'm not happy about it.
I voted 3wks ago mail in the whole ticket
It's like Dan Olsen said, they weild hypocrisy as a weapon
Cowards, all of them.
Now you understand their perspective. Finally someone is starting to get it.
Oh, Steve, going for the Clark Kent remove-the-glasses move to get more fanboys-n-girls to give a like to the video. 😂You da man!
Fascism at its finest...
This incident ticks several boxes in Umberto Eco's Ur-fascism.
Looks cool, wish I could remove mine after finishing reading.
I tried so hard to vote this year, but the post office screwed me 😭😭😭 Tx says you have to have a Tx ID card, I just got married and the post office returned my ss card and voter registration. I don't have enough time to go get them again before the election, along with a new state ID. I've never been so disappointed in myself before ever
I live in Kiggans district (VA-2), and she keeps denying she is MAGA in her ads, but of course that in not true. Happily voting against her.
Voted ALL BLUE in Central Texas this week! I’m terrified of the right’s pursuit of power and I’m equally excited about the possibilities of the left’s policies.
Sure am glad Kamala is buddying up to Dick Cheney at a time like this 🙄.
We are so boned
Blue Voter Guide if you don't know it Steve check it out it took me through my sample ballot here in Florida showed who was recommended and what groups endorsed them if repukelicans win they will be on the chopping block
I'm a free speech absolutist. My speech is freely given and absolute.
I say unless you literally praise Hitler or Stalin, professional lectures are OK. Just glad nobody actually does that. Oh wait...
4:36 classic Hitchens move. Means get ready cuz I’m gonna preach!
"For My Friends, Everything! For my enemies, The Law." Hypocrisy is my hugest peeve. Gawd I hate it.
Repeat after me: every whiny accusation is a damning confession
I love the glasses bit. Production jokes always crack me up
"Teach the controversy!"
history edition.
Americans are seeing who the wealthy elite CEO class are, who they overwhelmingly support, and who- if the speech, thought, idea and book banning didn’t clue them in- who really hates Free Speech.
I thought they might be having a huge issue with educated women. But, yeah, someone shining a light on them… and it’s a educated woman. 😮
It's less a case of them holding a double standard, and more a case of their standard being that only they should be allowed to have basic human rights.
Teach the controversy!
Funny how that works. Good video. Thank you for it!
She’s great.
I’m looking forward for your commentary on the Post and the Times non-endorsements.
Personally it’s driving me nuts. How can Bezos have so much money and still feel so insecure?
It's the actual history they fear. They know that anyone who hears the actual history can't keep denying the pattern that is blaringly obvious about their despotic object of worship.
Lol im copying your move with the glasses when i speak publicly again ❤
