P - You won't blow up your truck. Typically there are different levels of tunes. You can just go with a modest tune if that would make you feel more comfortable.
It's always hard to give exact numbers since there are so many factors like conditions, dyno, engine/turbo health, tuning, etc. However - as a rough ballpark - a full bolt-on 2015 2.7L EcoBoost will likely make about 360-380whp and 400-430wtq on standard 91/93 octane pump fuels. If you run a small E85 blend (like E30) then you'll likely land somewhere around 380-410whp and 425-450wtq.
This is really going to depend on what tune you are running. Intake, downpipes, etc. aren't going to have too much of an impact on gas mileage but if you run an aggressive tune 100% of the time then I'd assume you might lose 2-4mpg depending on how you drive and accelerate off the line. But you can adjust tunes depending on what you're doing - keep it on an economy/mpg tune for daily driving, put on the performance tune when you're towing, want more power, etc.

You are incorrect @joumadepoes88. Torque is measured in "pound-feet" (lb-ft), which means it's expressed as a force in pounds multiplied by a distance in feet, so the correct answer is lbs feet; "foot pounds" refers to a different unit of measurement, typically used for energy, not torque.
@ cool that’s good to know considering EVERY SINGLE MEASUREMENT IF TORQUE since the beginning of mechanical knowledge up until the last few years was wrong. I’d better go have all my torque wrenches ground smooth and inscribed to reflect a whole new way. Must be the most annoying Mandela effect ever.
As a SHO owner we share the same transmission the 6F55, 550awtq to some in the industry is Max before failure. I'm at 640 awtq and have been for two years and 20,00 miles. My engine is built, tranny is stock. I change 6 quarts out every 10,000 miles i use 33% ULV , the fluid for the 10 speed, it's thinner, allows more transfer with such higher torque and power. Unfortunately Fusion sports like the SHOs 3.5 do not use the same internals as in the F-150. The 2.7 in Traverse form is maxed at under 400hp and 450-475tq before failure. If you plan to do major upgrades, like me you will have no choice but to have the engine built.

People keep saying the 2.7 underrated and most reliable. I must have got a bad apple because mine has gave me the dumbest problem's.
P - Sorry to hear. We think the 2.7 is certainly better than 3.5.
How much does fuel economy suffer ? Would be nice to get stock 3.5 numbers but keep fuel mileage around the same.
Hey, great videos, keep um coming. Have a question. I have a 2019 Ranger XLT. Its the 2.2 TDCI engine and MT92 "i think" 6speed manual 4x4. I was thinking of swapping in the 3.5 Ecoboost, but the engine itself and parts arn't available where i live which makes things get expensive. Question is, is the 3.5 Ecoboost the best engine to choose. Looking for a reliable 500whp. If i can use the gearbox i have that will save $. Thanks!
I'll go with the 2.7 ecoboost for the best bang for the buck plus in theory you should be able to get engine mounts from the bronco 2.7 to fit
You can get a 5.0 L coyote with about 50,000 miles on it, (all broke in) with powertrain 10-speed trams 4x4 for about 3 to 3500 $ I just ordered one for my 2013 Platinum f150 the old one went at 225,300 and it was ignorantly abused by a young man that showed no mercy lol
@@woodmaster4eva for $3500 eng and trans im assuming I’ll have to rebuild them. But may be better. Where will I find such a deal ?
Just noticed you’re shirt steamboat springs back in 2017 and I got to ride the mountain trails on a bike that was probably the most fun I’ve had on two wheels
Andrew - Always a blast up there! Some of us have been in Colorado for over 10 years now.
I live in Michigan you don’t need speed or power you just need a suspension for off road because our roads are terrible
Haha, same for here in Denver!
Why would I want to screw up a great engine by messing with it.
Stock engine gets great gas mileage and has more than enough power.
Glade - It all depends on the vehicle owners wants and demands. If you don’t want to add more power, no harm, no foul. It certainly will be more reliable when not tinkering with the engine.
Fun, that's why. We guys always want more. I have a SHO. Modded for two years. Now 650awhp. Still drives like a grocery getter, mash the peddle and I'm leaving hellcat drivers wondering what just happened.
My truck is full bolt on, and I get around 28 mpg highway now versus 22-23 when I bought it
@zep3308ify thats impressive.
I worked at a cord dealer. Mechanics say the timing chain on the 2.7 is so long, it stretches prematurely. They claim the 3.5 is better.
M - Thanks for taking the time to share this insight.
i think you have that reversed
@@darrenyoung4893yeah I own a 2.7 Edge and have a retired Ford master mechanic in my family, he won't let me buy a 3.5 specifically because of the timing chain. Plus everywhere you look online says the 2.7 doesn't have a problem, and the 3.5 is a guaranteed timing chain failure every 100k+ miles.
Nothing for the edge st 😏
Gary - Unfortunately there aren't very many options out there because Edge ST's aren't usually modded out. However, what info are you looking for and we can do our best to provide answers for you!
@8020 Media intercooler, definitely a good recommendation for a tune, I'm possibly interested in Livernoise tune out of Michigan
Same Gary. I've been trying to look for parts for my Lincoln MKX but it's even harder than the Edge ST. All I found was an aftermarket BOV and a tune from livernois, and I'm pretty much capped. I did find something on the edge forums and someone complied a complete list of mods like intercooler, springs, upgraded thermostats, etc. But it's too close because it is a list for 1st gen and 2nd gen 2.7
Not having a downpipe option for the Edge ST has been driving me nuts...
@@garys9718Old thread, please stay away from Livernois. You have options, Gearhead, Stage 3, Ortiz. I'm in the SHO community, Livernois is not used by anyone but newbies. I mentioned to another guy on here, your 2.7 is like my 3.5 was in my SHO, the internals are cheap. The 2.7 transverse failure will start at under 400whp and 450wtq. Only way to get alot of power is to have the engine built. Average is 10-$14,000 to do a good build on a engine. The F-150 2.7 internals can handle the power.
And will blow up within a long weekend
R - What?
Aren't these engines breaking on their own
B - I mean, not really.. All kind of depends on maintenance.
no?
@@anthonyhales4192 I got a Ecoboost I got off caravans 80k miles they paid for a new engine. Then I hear it's common for these engines to crack and burn coolant. they are there 3rd fix for engine version. But I have the 2L I guess probably not as good as the 3l for durablility
@@anthonyhales4192 so getting your engine more HP will make it last just as long ?
The 2.7 is way more durable than he 3.5

Torque is measured in foot pounds not pound feet.
J - Thanks
You are incorrect @joumadepoes88.
Torque is measured in "pound-feet" (lb-ft), which means it's expressed as a force in pounds multiplied by a distance in feet, so the correct answer is lbs feet; "foot pounds" refers to a different unit of measurement, typically used for energy, not torque.
@@8020Mediayou are correct. It is “pound-foot of torque”. Not “foot-pound”.

How much can the Fusion sports transmission handle?
TrueJay - We've seen many hit the 425 wtq mark on stock transmissions. But this also depends on what year the Sport is.
@@8020Media2017 Fusion Sport?
