    Just wanted to say that I appreciate your short reviews. I don't watch your videos to get a 30 minute, detailed video of every nook and cranny of the car. There are plenty of other channels on TH-cam to cater those needs. Instead, I watch your videos to gauge the current state of the car industry: what brand is innovating with tech, what model is family friendly, and so on.

    This is my baby; same color and everything! I call her ZZ, because, you know.... lol. Still turning heads 3 years later. Prefer this model and look over all of the models that have come since. Hate the new mesh grills. Gotta be a bear to keep clean. Plus none of them have the light bar on the front of the grill that looks so frickin awesome at night while driving. So much fun to drive and a beauty to match. Love my ZZ!

    For all the American viewers who were puzzled. Yes he said Mazda the right way. You guys in the US are the only ones in the world who say it the way you do.

    The Mazda 6 is a great looking car inside and out. My beef is it is far too expensive, a GT with the tech package + nice rims will cost $42,627.84 including taxes in Canada. Where as the Honda accord V6 EXL will cost $40,180.14
    including taxes. The Toyota Camry XSE V6 would cost $39,385.63 with taxes. I would choose the V6 car over the 4 banger.
    I found the Mazda to be far too underpowered for the price point. It never felt quick to me, during my test drive . No zoomzoom . I wish they sold the deisel engine like they do in Europe and Asia.
    Great review Zach !

    I don't think we in Canada prefer smaller vehicle, it's just the compact class in Canada is priced as the mid size class in US

      I think it's because in the U.S., there is so much highway that midsize cars are more suitable for highway driving.

    Hi Motormouth Canada. first of all I am huge fan. The way you deliver
    reviews is just class. I want to ask if I should go for 2016 CIVIC
    EX-T($25000) or Mazda6 GX($26500). Mazda is just class above and feature
    list is almost same excluding Honda Sensing which I don't want. Don't
    you think Mazda6 makes more sense as it is more premium?

    wow it's so expensive in Canada! in Saudi Arabia it cost 30,000$ fully loaded GT. overall the rotary engine is coming in the future, so I think they may use it in Mazda6, MX-5 and CX9.
    I'm not sure if they going to use it on MX-5...

  • @johntechwriter
    @johntechwriter 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    You neglect to say that the 2.5L engine gives outstanding fuel economy, good enough to make a case for choosing it over a 6-cylinder Accord or Camry.
    Also, the high-end GT model comes with more than the cosmetic trim you mention: its bolstered leather seats would not look out of place in a BMW 5 series.
    Fuel economy and seat comfort -- two of the most important features for a commuter car, and you mention neither.

    I learned today that this car can nowhave Apple Carplay and Android Auto enabled - my understanding is it is a $495 USD upgrade that requires a new module to be installed where the USB ports reside.

    For the price of this GT trim, you can also get a Fusion Titanium with the 2.0 Ecoboost. It's also a nice car. Same platform and the sound deadening works great. The only downside is the fuel consumption. I guess it's the price to pay when you want some kind of fun. That said, this GT trim is very classy and modern. However, Mazda had issues in the past with rust in the cold climates. I am not sure if the Skyactive philosophy makes it worst: lighter panels? Also, the paint quality of many car makers of today is too weak. The clear is so thin.

    • @Motormouth...
      @Motormouth...  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Xsoul1000 The Fusion and the Mazda6 no longer share any components. They used to be built on the same platform, no longer.

      +Xsoul1000 They've got a 7 year anti-perforation warranty now. I think those days of premature rust have passed.

    • @Xsoul1000
      @Xsoul1000 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +daxterreid Good point for the warranty. They have made it greater. However, I am a Honda/Toyota fan. I would probably buy an Accord or a Toyota Rav4 if I was shopping in that range. :-)

    Dear MMC why what's the review so short on such a good car. I've often have to go to other channel to get a full in depth review of some of the cars that you talk about. I know everyone now a days has a short attention span but I think the cars that more popular should get a more in depth review

    • @Motormouth...
      @Motormouth...  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FamusFace This isn't a new car, it is a mild facelift, mostly on the top trim level. You can always watch the 2014 review, when the car came out.

      FamusFace Motormouth Canada That's just the style of these videos - short to the point. I personally love this channel because the creator (sorry, I don't recall your name) doesn't take up time talking about every single tiny detail, but instead reviews the general exterior appearance, interior design/comfort, and how it drives.

    I dont know the mazda 6 but the Mazda 3 2015 had REALLY thin body panels that would 100% take me to the body shop and color for the most minor accidents and the road noise was more than my 2008 camry V6 and the 2.0 had enough power for daily driving but such an ugly screaming noise on high rpms I think there is no premium car without the premium price.

      +Skyler91 The 2.2L Turbocharged Diesel was planned for North America when it was announced 2 years ago, but has been delayed several times, and now cancelled of rapid rise of fuel levels and tough emission standards (which Mazda didn't want to use after-treatment system).

      +Dhme Janbi They're probably not going to use the rotary in the Mazda6, MX-5, CX-9. All these cars are mainstream (well maybe MX-5 is an exception) and they wouldn't use unproven technology in cars that will definitely sell in mass volume. The rumour is, the MK. II SKYACTIV-G engine won't use spark plugs and will use gasoline and HCCI to combust (like a diesel with high compression of 19:1). We'll see if that new SKYACTIV-G engine will come.
