    What a quick yet highly informative video Josh. I will have to check my Bushnell Truth rangefinder to see if there’s any angle 📐 compensation mode and if so how to set it up.
    My biggest concern is shooting extremely short distance at whitetail from a tree 🌳 once I learn how to use my sticks and tree saddle properly. 🌳🏹🦌

    Very nice. If you have your rangefinder set for angles. Is there a quick way to figure out line of sight? Say I don't feel comfortable shooting over 50 yards. I range something on a hill and my rangefinder says 45 because it's angle compensating, but actual yardage is 65.

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a great question. You could choose to keep it on LOS mode, then flip it over to the angle comp after the fact. Would have to be quick with your settings though! Haha.

    Is there a reason to use line of sight on my rangefinder, or should I just use horizontal compensation mode

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So, the only real reasons to use LOS mode in my opinion are if you're using precise slope adjustment charts based off of your specific ballistic data. These are obviously going to provide the most pinpoint accurate cuts. The HCD gets you pretty close though. That goes for bow and rifle. And the other reason is more nerdy than anything, but I personally like knowing what a certain degree of angle was and what the actual LOS distance was after the shot. Other than that, your best bet is to just always have it in HCD mode, haha.

    • @trussell2505
      @trussell2505 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DialedinHunter Thanks, I'll leave it in hcd mode and hopefully it will make a difference on my next hunt.

    • @christiantorres6118
      @christiantorres6118 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was doing the hike to hunt last week end and compared the LOS mode to the HCD. I used the data from the range finder to get my yardage off a cut sheet from archerers advantage based on my sight tape that i made. I then went to HCD mode and compared the yardage from the cut sheet to that of the range finder. It was so close to the tenth that i kept it on HCD mode and didn't use the cut sheet. The slopes were moderate. Nothing crazy. I hit all of the slope shots pretty good for my novice experience.

    Hi, great break down. So, new here to shooting. I have a range finder but I have no idea how to use it when I am using my rifle. Assume the Range finder say I am 2° up does that mean you have to dial in 2° compensation in the scope? Thanks

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That means that the target you ranged is at a 2 degree angle. This isn't enough to warrant an adjustment, in my opinion. You're on the right track though. Sounds like your rangefinder is reading line of sight. If you get one that does angle compensation, then it'll do the calculations for you and give the range of what you need to aim/dial for on your rifle scope.

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      SO LOUD. There were two things going on there I found out. One the mod on those cams seems to like to come loose easy, which then causes a clank sound on the shot. Two, and a very simple fix, is the football head on my drop away cord was actually hitting my quiver on each shot. There is a mark on the backside of this quiver from it.

    • @DialedinHunter

      @@Terpedup925 HCD if you want the rangefinder to do the slope calculations for you. LOS would be used if you wanted to use an actual printed out cut chart to do the calculations on your own.
