    Thanks for the explanation of the Corona line.
    Off your recommendation I picked up a 2" Cortez and 2" Vegas. Love them both!
    I know its a ton of work but would love to see more of your long form videos again.
    It would be cool to see you and your brother paint another room

    THANK YOU ! Now I know what I’m looking for when I go to big box. I tried and tried to find Corona brand brushes. No luck. Tried to order some from The Paint Store out of Florida but they never shipped my brushes.

      Benjamin Moore retailers are the only place I’ve found them. Occasionally you can get them for decent prices on Amazon

    What brush do you recommend for staining a wood picket fence using acrylic solid color stain? Each picket is 3.5 inches wide and they are spaced 1.25 inches apart so must use a brush instead of roller.

      I’d probably go with a stainer brush from Wooster. I’ll link to one so you can see what I’m talking about. I didn’t mention them in this video cause it’s more of a specialty brush but they’re not overly expensive and they come in a variety of widths. They hold a lot of product and are a solid choice for what you’re talking about. www.acehardware.com/departments/paint-and-supplies/painting-tools-and-supplies/paint-brushes/1235076

      For cryin out loud ROLL IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brush the spots you can't get with the roller !!!!! Slop that crap on there and rub it in smooth it out , roll baby roll

      5 gallon bucket half full , roller screen , 1.25" lambswool roller ..... dip the roller ONLY enough to cover the nap of the roller , DO NOT dunk the whole roller on paint , it will drip like crazy ..... just touch the paint with the roller a few times , run it over the screen a little , raise it up , LIGHTLY apply the paint do not push too hard at first , as you roll you apply more and more pressure , do not push too hard with a full roller , it will drip like hell and do not dunk the whole roller in the paint (stain) , just get the "nap" wet , not the inside of the roller , it will drip like hell too ......soft pressure at first , just to spread the paint , then roll harder , easy at first with a full load

    you should consider starting your youtube titles with “pro painter explains… [normal video title]”. because in search results - usually only the very first 4-7 words of titles are visible unless on searching on the youtube client. so while people are scrolling it’ll communicate your expertise instead of only after clicking

    • @SuperVassarBrothers
      @SuperVassarBrothers  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ll take that into consideration 🫡

    Angled sash brushes are actually designed specifically for sash windows, hence the name. The flats are designed for walls and usually say so on the package. Sure you can use a sash on walls, and lots of painters do, but usually do so only because they've never used a proper wall brush . The sash will slow you down because they simply don't hold as much paint. Anyone who compares the results of the two knows that wall brushes are way more efficient than sashes.

    • @SuperVassarBrothers
      @SuperVassarBrothers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Whatever works for you. I’ve seen painters use all kinds of brushes and do so with great speed. I’m quite fast and accurate with a sashed brush, but that’s what I’ve used for 20 years.

      @@SuperVassarBrothers Absolutely, Painters are free to use a toothbrush if they so desire, but can't expect the best results .

      @@gianthills you're being unnecessarily rude to this guy ..... I have used and have seen TONS of expert painters use angled brushes for walls , and they DO work better when side cutting using the edge of the brush than a flat brush ..... angled brushes give you both options , flat cut or side cut ..... TONS of painters use them to cut in .... I use flat brushes to paint flat surfaces like slab doors , and I will use them to cut in now and then , but I have no problem using an angled brush cutting in and nether does a million other painters ..... I seriously doubt Vassar Brothers would recommend a toothbrush to paint with , you went "absurd" with that nonsense

    • @gianthills
      @gianthills 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@shure46 i see. so tell me how a brush that holds less paint is more efficient. A flat 3 or 4 obviously holds more paint than a sash and is therefore more efficient, as in faster. You seem unnecessarily angy, bud.

    • @shure46
      @shure46 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gianthills some people prefer and angled brush for cut in , has more to do with ease of use than how much paint it holds ..... If you like flat brushes , use flat brushes , a lot of people like angled brushes , and I'm sure many of them are just as "efficient" as you are at cutting in ...... You are making a mountain out of a molehill

    Bought 10 different brushes ,not 1 was good enough for cutting in ,it needs to be thinly layered and soft ,not thick as floor brush and stiffer than a corpse

    • @SuperVassarBrothers

      Mmmmkay. I’m assuming you’re taking issue with me using the phrase “dudes”. I use that word as a general phrase to refer to people that paint. It’s not necessarily gender specific, but I can see how you would take it in a negative way. I’m well aware that women paint. I’ve met quite a few over the years.

    • @bmcdonald7303

      I’m a woman that paints and I throw around the dude word as well. I’m also military and I’m used to using terms that include both male and female. I tend to dislike having to distinguish or have others point out that other genders do x, y and z. It’s common sense. Thanks for what you do @supervassarbrothers
