Good for you Tony Randall, an old Father is better than an absent father, a cheating father, or a father that’s not married to their mother! Take a lesson from this wonderful man!
He really loved his wife and kids!!! Saw him on Johnny Carson a number of times and when asked about how he got his kids, Mr Randal said, “I got them the old fashioned way!” He literally brought down the house down, nobody could not stop laughing and clapping. He was so happy and proud of his family. He regretted having to leave them when he was dying.
The Odd Couple was the one time that the TV version was better than the movie. He was one of our favorites and he's still missed. A genuinely interesting and funny guy.
I agree! Tony Randall brought way more depth to the character of Felix Unger than Jack Lemmon! Of course, he had 5 years of shows, to do it! Both set of actors were fantastic, though! One of the best sitcoms, ever!
I personally didn't find the TV series to be better than the film , but it was at least just as good - and , of course , the TV series did manage to step outside of the shadow of the original film and seek its own path - May GOD rest the Souls of both , Tony Randall and Jack Klugman 🙏 ✝️ 🙏
As a product of a father who was 59 years old with a 36-year-old mother in the late 60's. I applaud him; being there, and present, is better than not having one at all.
Hello I don’t think it was unfair because without Tony Randall their children would have not been born. More power to Tony he was an excellent father to his 2 children💕😊
Married 9 years from ages 75 to 84. Interesting. Whatever floats your boat! Go for it! Having the income for his two children and the dedication of his wife is all that matters. If he wants to be a dad on top of that then that is the bottom line.
I think Mr. Randal’s decision to marry a woman 50 years his junior and to have children late in life falls under the category of nonya, it was no one’s business but Tony’s and his wife’s….. I hope mom and kids are all doing well and enjoying their lives…. And even though I loved the movie version (and still do) it’s the TV version I love the best……. And at this time of the year, the Odd Couple Christmas episode was the best of all Christmas episodes ever done! In that episode, Felix and their poker player buddies were looking for someone to play Scrooge in their production of a Christmas Carol because usually Oscar played him, but for some reason he didn’t want to …. Great, funny actor, with an amazing body of work.
50 years is a big difference but love is love if it's real, and having kids in his late 70s was also crazy, but if the kids are okay and happy then what else matters? Overall very inspirational.

I remember Tony Randall from his days on "Mr. Peepers", starring Wally Cox, ca. 1951 & have always liked his 'quirky' personality! Since I'm the father of two & grandfather of six, the oldest being 24, I can't imagine bringing up a child at this age! p.s. By the way, what did Tony Randall do with all the money that he made in 60 years of acting, to only leave a 1 million dollar estate?
This channel completely misconstrued the court papers filed after his death. They stated merely that his estate was worth "in excess of one million dollars," and was most likely worth far more (some estimate as high as 30 million).
The hint of scandal in this video’s title is entirely false. As the repetitious piece makes clear, Tony and his young wife loved each other and had two much-loved children. Some rumor! Better to watch the many interviews with this brilliant, beloved actor,

We make choices everyday, whether to marry and if that choice be to go that route, fine next choices about having children and raising a family, fine. What we have no choice in is when we die and the children and loved ones we leave behind and trying to explain to the children they have no father, in this case. Could be a loved one in any family and coping with the loss which is unfortunately to arise at any given time.
I feel as long as you're up to taking care of your kids that's all up to the individuals involved God bless the Randall family I think that was beautiful🎉🌄☝🏽🙏🏽
Marriage & having children is a very personal decision for all. Whether you’re famous or not. Sounds to me like a lot of thought went into the decision. He certainly didn’t enter into it lightly if he knew he wanted to be a father. IMHO I feel like all of us have the right to choose our own path in life as long as we’re of sound mind & not hurting anyone. Tony Randall knew what he was doing. He was not hurting anyone. He was living out his golden years giving love to his family. He knew he would not have the time with them he would have liked. It sounds to me like he loved them all very deeply during the time he shared with them. To me this is what’s most important. I’m sure his family will remember his love for them & theirs for him more than his age.
I enjoyed Tony Randall very much. I believe his and Jacks portrayal of the Odd Couple was the only remake of a movie to tv that was better than the movie. Tony was Felix. I also heard he was a very good loyal friend. When Klugman had throat cancer Tony stood by him and brought him out of his shell from losing his voice. Jack loved him. He has every right to have children at any age. Just ashame he couldn’t enjoy them and share his many interests in the fine arts. I’m only shocked he wasn’t worth more than a million. Very odd. But I loved his appearances on letterman. His wife sounds like a very special person who actually loved him for himself and not his fame. I miss him
Well, there’s always a chance that a person having children even that late could still live a good long life. Even young parents die and leave their children. And to have a loving father even 75 years old for a few years is better than having a rotten father for decades.
God bless him,but no way in hell would I want to become a father at my age and I'm 63,i don't have the desire or stamina to keep up with a new born,i want to enjoy my retirement years doing nothing but traveling and doing what I want to do when I want to do it.
One of my favorite episodes from The Felix Watson to a restaurant at the next table actress Betty White and Allen ludden and the funny scene is when she told Alan to put a little more butter on his bread that was so funny
Controversy? What controversy? The man and the woman decide to get married, no matter what age difference or any other difference, that's their business not a matter for public debate. And if anybody wants to get married but doesn't because of what people say- I pity the fool
Several things I find interesting about this. After a life time of acting his net worth is 1 million. Hell I'm worth a million at 78 and I'm a no body. Second, I'm amazed even with the blue pill he was able to get it up. And third, I can see that if he wanted her and at 25 she wanted kids, that was his gift to her along with the 1 million. They'll be fine. She will remarry and the circle of life goes on.
Tony Randall was a successful person and lived his life the way he wanted. We only knoe and see his public side of his life as it should be. It isn't our ugh business to know or decide for him or anyone what he does in his personal life. Look at Anthony Quin. He had two children in his 80s, and he already had children in his life.. If it works for them, good. This does happen in other lives. They may not be public figures. This is not our decision.
Obviously age is an important parenthood factor. Having said that, other factors are extremely important as well. Presently, we need a License to drive a car, to remodel our house, to install an awning in our building, to own a pit-bull dog in several countries, etc. Neverthless, "we ain't need no License" to have Children. I know several men who remarried in their 60s and 70s. Most of them, persons in Academia, In the World of the Arts, or other Professionals -- all of them, still very active in their endeavours. However, they had to bear the burden of intrusive criticism. They had Children, who grew up to become successful in their Private lives and careers. Unfortunately, the same can't be said in regard to so many kids whose parents were chronologically young. Lacking other decisive parenthood attributes. Parenthood and the age factor? In sum, there is more than meets the eye! .

@@FactsVerse Well just great touching stories like this story see Heather really loved Tony because she never remarried and no relationships since his passing in 2004 and she said that nobody could hold a candle next to him - wow what a beautiful loving wife -- in my real life i never did find a woman yet especially like Heather see Heather for me would be a dream come true because of her spectacular awesome unique one of a kind comment after his passing. Just to let you know i was a big fan of Johnny see Johnny gave back to his roots and many foundations and he did it in a quiet way a secret way and all of this did not come out til after his passing in 2005. I watched Johnny from 1962 to 1992 never missed a show he was brilliant he was like a relative and i loved his Art Fern # 1 and Carnac the Magnificent # 2 role plays especially ART FERN SIMPLE THE BEST COMEDY !! See Johnny, Ed Mc Mahon, Doc Severinsen, and Tommy Newsom were the best of all time so good thing i lost sleep in those 30 yrs because it surely was worth it for sure !! Chester
He left her only a million dollars? Seems odd. He had a very long, conservative (I mean lifestyle, not political), successful life, so I don't see where it all went unless the bulk went to charity (hopefully).
Everything sounds perfectly fine and beautiful to me in Tony's and Heather's relationship. She wasn't a child. WHAT RUMORS???? I feel bad for the kids growing up though without a father but maybe Heather resolved that. Other than that, to hell what anyone thinks about the age difference. Who gives a crap. To each their own provided no one is HURT intentionally as a result of it. Tony Randall was a beautiful and TREMENDOUSLY classy Man. My Mother slipped and fell on a train grating due to fallen snow while walking to work one morning back in the 90's in Manhattan by the S.I. Ferry. Tony came to her aid while she lay in pain with a broken ankle. He waited with her patiently for 1/2 an hour until the ambulance came. He didn't have to do that. A beautiful Man indeed. R.I.P. Arthur and God Bless you, Sir.
How did he raise those kids he died when they were toddlers so they will barely remember him. No, I am 62, and I would not have kids at my age only for them to become old enough to watch me die.
I 100% agree. I was debating this subject not long ago with regard to Rod Stewart having a kid at 66 years old. Me and my ex had two boys, one year apart when we were 25 years old and had completed college and well established in our careers. I taught my kids sports and they competed at the highest levels until they graduated from high school. We were constantly practicing, we fished, we hunted, we camped, they rode dirt bikes, I taught them mechanics and carpentry, they also had numerous hobbies we indulged. Like yourself, I'm 62 years old and probably more active and fit than 95% of men my age. There is no way I would say I'm up to the task of being the father I once was.
I have no problem with people getting married to someone who is extremely older than the other person. The problem I have is bringing children into this world, which is unfair to them. He passed when they were small children. It isn't fair to them. I would like to know why he didn't have children with his first wife. I would like to hear from the children about growing up with no father and when they had their father It must have seemed weird to have a father who looked like a grandfather.
Tony R I wonder what his opinion was regarding situation comedies like Seinfeld and my fav (Malcom in the middle), as their physical comedic talents from the actors was a significant dynamic to those shows successes.
So wonderful! Age should not be a deciding factor. He was a great Felix Unger. I hope he didn't aggravate his kids like he did to Oscar (Jack Klugman).
even though my father was 50 when I was born, even though my father passed when I was 32, I am my mother's/father's daughter and I'm so blessed to be their daughter.🕊️🙏🪽🕯️❤️🕯️🪽🙏🕊️

Why don’t you get your information straight? Tony Randall passed away in 2004
It'll be 20 years in a month. He just rounded up by a month. People make mistakes. Happy Thursday and I wasn't trying to come across as rude. 😊
The narrator gave the date of his death.
Personal choice that worked for them, fini
I feel as long as you're up to taking care of your kids that's all up to the individuals involved God bless the Randall family I think that was beautiful🎉🌄☝🏽🙏🏽
He was great in Seven Faces of Dr. Lao.
No, it’s not unfair if you have left a plan for their care after your demise! If life gives you a chance for happiness, I say, grab it!
So what rumors did she confirm? I must have missed it.
He reminds me of my uncle Walter, very simular mannerism. I enjoyed the odd couple so much.
Wonderful
I miss him
He was able to leave mo ey for his family to live probably a modest life but that’s fine too.
Sweet love story with Heather.❤

This video upset my sinuses.
Yup! I do.
Now age difference not considered unusual.
2024
❤
Well, there’s always a chance that a person having children even that late could still live a good long life. Even young parents die and leave their children. And to have a loving father even 75 years old for a few years is better than having a rotten father for decades.
This is up to the couple. It seems in this case it worked out well and added two well adjusted, healthy human beings to the world.
God bless him,but no way in hell would I want to become a father at my age and I'm 63,i don't have the desire or stamina to keep up with a new born,i want to enjoy my retirement years doing nothing but traveling and doing what I want to do when I want to do it.
What were the rumours?
Okay, so what were the rumours eluded to in the tile of this video? You obviously did that to lure people in.

Misleading title...there are no rumors here!
Let him rest in peace always have to start shit after someone thats gone

Chester
We willmis you Rip
We love Tony too. May he find peace ❣❣
He left her only a million dollars? Seems odd. He had a very long, conservative (I mean lifestyle, not political), successful life, so I don't see where it all went unless the bulk went to charity (hopefully).
I thought the same thing!
What are the "Rumors?" The video's, for the love of Mike? Fake title it seems.
There were no rumors. Just a stupid hook to get people here.
Well, those stupid hooks were also what the tabloids of the time used. It's not all new, and I've read up about this story (and more).

That’s what he said…..2004
How did he raise those kids he died when they were toddlers so they will barely remember him.
No if his first wife wasn’t able to have children it’s the only way for him to have a child if he were to marry a younger woman 😊

Misleading title, what rumors!? smh

Robot narrator messed up Jack Klugman's name at the very end of this.
Thanks for the feedback! We'll check the video.
so what was the rumor?
A 50 year age difference? What possibly could they have on common?

Not as old as De Niro.
even though my father was 50 when I was born, even though my father passed when I was 32, I am my mother's/father's daughter and I'm so blessed to be their daughter.🕊️🙏🪽🕯️❤️🕯️🪽🙏🕊️
Who are we to judge. Lucky Man !! How are the kids, that’s should decide the argument.

I totally thought he was gay & closeted.
Nope Tony was a ladies man. This article didn't really talk about a lot of women at Tony was with but he dated around
@@derekseven1647 That sloptart, jk 😋
@@derekseven1647 Rock Hudson dated as well for professional appearances. He was married to Phyllis Gates from 1955-1958. The marriage was arranged by a studio agent to avoid rumors of Rock Hudson being homosexual which would have destroyed his early career, and the studio's "cash cow".
