The original Slayer lineup is the best. One big thing at metal shows is that you really don't have any enemies. If someone falls down, someone will be there to pick you up.
I've been down at the front in Slayer, Celtic Frost, Kreator, Morbid Angel and Carcass pits and I can vouch for this first hand. Metal fans are THE best community.
100% agree. us metalheads may look "different" & listen to loud, in your face, aggressive music, BUT we are some of the kindest people you will meet. metalhead for life 🤘
Slayer, Slayer, Slayyyeeeerrrrrrrrrr, Guitarist on the left with blond hair is sadly not with us anymore R.I.P Jeff🤘🤘🤘, looking for a MEGA audience reaction watch Exodus "Strike of the Beast" Wacken 2008 KILLER WALL OF DEATH.
I've seen slayer more times than I can count. The best show I saw was The reinventing the steel tour, Slayer, Pantera, Static X, Morbid Angel and Scrape. We rushed the floor during Morbid, and stayed there until about halfway through Pantera's set. The pit for slayer was the whole floor, the pit for Pantera was the whole building. I stood right in front of Dime and watched him rip the solo in cowboys from hell. Rip Dime, rip Jeff. So many fun memories going to the shows.
That part when they're done and you see Jeff Hanneman from behind, arms spread wide, facing the crowd that's giving him all the praise he deserves like a returning conqueror is how I will always remember Jeff Hanneman.
To put the band in a bit of perspective, they don’t even have to be playing a festival, and people will still be running through camp at 3 am screaming SLAAAAAAYYYYEEEEEERRRRRRR!
You have been officially converted.!!!!!! You don't know how much joy this has brought me. Been a slayer fan for 20+ years and have gone though every emotion you went through in this video. Trust me when I tell you this audience was chill in comparison to 90% of most other slayer conerts.
Yeah, it was an epic concert (Sonisphere Sofia 2010). Unfortunately I was in the stands, so couldn't be in the mosh pits, but got another chance with their farewell tour
I saw one of the last times the original line up ever played in massachusetts. Seen them Many times before as well, club shows to near arena style festivals. Ive seen people rip seats out and start enormous fires, pits around it etc. Slayer will always be the OG band. Kins of thrasha nd metal, always. Nobody can compare, and people have done nothing but try.
Dude, you need to come to the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, KY this September. Slayer’s headlining Friday night, but the whole festival is going to be a blast this year.
Well I'll be damned. Last thing I heard was the guys retiring in 2019. Crazy that your comments let me know Tom, Kerry, Paul and Gary are carrying on. Gary Holt is a great 7:46 successor of. Jeff Too bad Lombardo isn't part of it.. No disrespect to Paul, I love his 90's stuff.... Dave is just my slayer drummer. Nice to see they're back in 2024
In order to make that sustained ringing sound out of the guitars, they turn their backs towards the speakers in order to get acoustic "feedback" (which re-enters the sound system and is amplified in a continuous feedback-loop to create that rumbling sound).
In the pit, it's exactly like what you said; no enemies. Even with people that you might have huge opposite views in real life; over there we are living the moment, cleansing our self; together with great & aggressive music. 2 other live Slayer that you should check: War Ensemble (same concert) & Dead Skin Mask [download festival 2007].
I’m a female, Slayerwas my second concert. I was 14 or 15 and went into the pit! Only danger was some idiots at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago put these heavy metal and wood folding chairs in there which my leg got stuck in but 2 people pulled me up and I was back at it again! If you’re angry going into the pit will relieve all that frustration in a positive BAD ASS way! Feels so good afterwards
Pop open a Heineken for Mr. Hanneman. You should watch/listen to a comedian named Jim Bruer talk about slayer fans at a concert he went to. F**kin hilarious
You watch the Great live version, but if you want a better Mosh pit you have to find the same song live in different concert. There is a live version of this song where it actually rains blood on the stage. Here is the link. th-cam.com/video/O9x9gG4z8IQ/w-d-xo.htmlm12s
You should watch one from the 90's when the fans were a whole different generation. They were facing the speakers to get the feedback (squeal) your hearing. Their concerts can be explained in one word....INTENSE!
Best Mosh pit I ever witnessed was at a disturbed concert let the bodies hit the floor it was raining and cold and we created a damn cloud just over the mosh pit actually it was an oz fest concert at sandstone. I'm also pretty sure I moshed with Henry Rollins at the bottleneck at a punchline show
Slaaayeeeeeeer!!!! 🔥 th-cam.com/video/WYt0bVm97fU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bDApFiNNTMcXxCnB Watch this video of a Slayer's mosh pit filmed on first person with a GoPro
Having experienced Slayer live a few times... I can attest that the energy of the crowd always went off the charts when 'Raining blood' comes from the stage... I remember going to see another band and Slayer's 'Raining blood' was played on the P.A. system and the crowd started moshing w/ no band on the stage! Here's a link to a clip of 'Raining blood' (+ 'Killing fields') by Slayer live in 1995 on the 'Live intrusion' concert video 🤘🤘🔥🔥 th-cam.com/video/dHjn2E97CQ4/w-d-xo.html

The person that knocks you down is probably the one helping you up. Then they drag your ass back into the mosh pit with them to have some more fun.

Saw them live several times,it was amazing!
I saw Slayer back in '87 on their Reign in Blood tour when I was 15 🤘 I'm 51 now and still rock out to Slayer and metal
Slayer pit is brutal and epic, and absolutely worth it!
I believe this was part of the big four tour Slayer Anthrax Megadeth and Metallica
Pretty sure that's correct.

There is nothing more freeing than a good metal show! The energy release is insane! You do feel uplifted from everything in life!
Subscribed 1/2 through the studio version video you did. Love it!

You hear slayer like I did the first time. Thanks.

I wanna take you to shows!!!
Slayer will live for 20000 years (according to video title) :)
Watch the "Still Reigning" live version of the song for some more madness!! lol th-cam.com/video/RE5FgxSWQOM/w-d-xo.html
I was in this mosh 🤘
I have been in a mosh pit before the purpose is to lift up who falls down and not to hurt anyone
I might have got knocked down but I never got hurt at a concert
When I face the amps they're creating a feedback
The reason they had their backs to the crowd was they were facing their amps to create feedback loops.
SLAYER!!!!!
Hatebreed is the most positive/aggressive and their pits are always lit! Try them too!💃
Chilean flag on his shirt! 🔥🇨🇱
Judas Priest - Painkiller (Epitaph) live
you will be shocked
2010 Sofia Bulgaria !
Guitars facing the speakers cause feedback, the squeals you hear
Check out Raining Blood cover by VADER
I miss Hanneman 😢
You need to start with early Slayer like songs AT DAWN THEY SLEEP and METAL STORM FACE THE SLAYER
