It makes me SO happy to see people watch more Slayer.
Agreed
It makes me so happy that thrash and death metal are getting more and more credit for how technical it is and often how much depth the lyrics actually have. "Proclaim my death, to end my wrath, it takes more than one try. Indulge your ineffective curse, I will never die." Slayer is Reborn
Dave lombardo a machine of a drummer!
The Neal Peart of metal👊🏽⚡️
@@faceplantor5647 More like Keith Moon style wise. They both play in a similar chaotic style.
Whenever I need to relax I listen to Slayer... and so do my neighbors.
Tom is using Chile's national football team home jersey from the 2010 World Cup. He is a proud chilean from Viña del Mar ♥️
More Slayer period! Live! Studio! Because FUCKING SLAYER!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
" Because Fucking Slayer" could not have said it better myself. 🤘
Slayer understands how to really whip a crowd into a frenzy. R.I.P. Jeff. Also , Lombardo is a Beast.
That was me that said Slayer was Controlled Chaos, and I'm glad you feel the same way. :) Imagine hearing this for the first time when you are a young teenager still trying to figure out life. This band was my introduction to the speed metal side of Thrash. Watching your facial expressions through the song was fuckin' awesome. You have that metal stink face down so well. Isn't it weird how you don't have to be taught or to see anyone else do the metal stink face, it just happens naturally.
I used to see Slayer in small clubs in the '80s. In fact, I saw the 'Reign in Blood' tour. They were younger, faster and so aggressive. I had so much fun watching the Blood fly in the pit.
I saw them on the Reign in Blood tour in the 80’s. Was deaf for a week after it. The main thing I remember was there was a blind guy in the mosh pit and he kept swinging his white stick about and hitting the rest of the crowd. Security asked him a few times to stop but he just kept on. Last thing I saw as they bundled him out the fire exit at the side of the stage was them kicking the shit out of him. Epic gig…
@stueyboy2 hahaha! I totally dig what you're saying. The stories I could tell. I should write a book (I've said this soooo many times). I better do it soon before I'm too old lol.
Seen SLAYER so many times and they rocked!!!
I took my kids to Slayer when they were in their teens. The family that Slays together stays together. \m/
The first time I saw Slayer, I got extremely drunk, spent the first 6 songs on the barrier before passing out and after a short stop in the medical room, made my way back to the pit where I got a fat black eye and had a great time. 10/10.
Skeletons of society is their best song. Recomend doing a reaction to that as well. Amazing video as always❤🎉🎸🤟🎵
I saw Slayer with my GF at Ozzfest '99. They opened with War Ensemble. She was short and when the beat came in she jumped up and hit me in the chin with the top of her head. I bit my toung and was cussing and spitting out blood the 1st 2 songs. Proper Slayer shit.
I was a 17 year old girl in a Slayer crowd, and not bc of a boyfriend.🙂 The Clash of the Titans tour, June 8, 1991, Cedar Rapids Iowa! 🙌 Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth! And who was the opener!? Alice in Chains!! Are you kidding me!? It was and is a dream-come-true line up! Wish I could relive that day.
very cool!
Thanks, and yes it was 🙂@@mattblatchley2061
Slayer bought out a dvd where they played the whole RIB album. A must watch. 🤘🤘
Yes, Still Reigning is a pure live madness. And the Raining blood version is their best 🤘
In order to make that sustained ringing sound out of the guitars, they turn their backs towards the speakers in order to get acoustic "feedback" (which re-enters the sound system and is amplified in a continuous feedback-loop to create that rumbling sound).
This is the band firing on all cylinders and it NEVER disappoints seeing them together playing such a theme.
SLAYER!!! Still screaming Motionless in White, Thoughts and Prayers!! Be easy !!!
My very first concert was Slayer in Los Angeles, Ca. in 1991
Nice.
Was that one of the Clash of the Titans shows? Would have really liked to have been to one of those mostly just to see Alice in Chains though lol
I love the bit at the start when they're standing close to the amps to get feedback.
I had the privilege of seeing slayer every time they came to Australia. I remember each and every show. So me things you just never forget!
South of Heaven and Raining Blood to this day still give me goosebumps!
South of Heaven was the album that got me into metal.
War At The Warfield is a great live Dvd that's on TH-cam now, any song off that show is amazing
Slayer riding the edge of incredibly heavy and ridiculously heavy for 30 years. 💥🤘🇨🇦
I saw slayer live once back in maybe 1989?! It was a small place. The stage was only like eye level high and not big at all- back in the day metal didn’t get big venues. I’m 55 now and can’t even imagine how I’d survive a show now! I remember jumping in the mosh pit which would be an insane thing for me to do now. It was a great show!
It's sad to realize that guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed away @agee 50, only 3 years after this 2010 clip was filmed (R.I.P.)
The "Big 4" of thrash metal - Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax... all played the frantic thrash metal sound... but each band sounded so different on a record and live in concert... Slayer was definitely the most incendiary live band of the 4; their fans would demolish anything in their path on the floor... Once Slayer got on a stage and started jamming, it was like all hell breaking loose 🔥🔥🤘🤘
I saw them a few days before in Warsaw. This was their first gig from Big 4 european leg.
In the early 90's I had a girlfriend who said that she can listen to same music as me. I thought "really?" and gave her Slayer's Reign in Blood tape, so she can listen to it in her car on her way to work. After work she gave me the tape back and said that "OK, I can't listen to same music as you".
🤣🤣🤣
Slayer alive is magnificent! I saw them twice in Brazil, Dave Lombardo is a monster in drums! Fuckin Slayer!!!!
Opeth-Ghost Of Perdition live at Red Rocks
Red Rocks is a fantastic venue!!!!
Yessssssssss. I'm so ready for an Opeth reaction 😂😅
I'm neither normal nor do I watch Raining Blood vids (intentionally anyhoo). These guys were one of my favourite shows I've seen. They proved live that there's no "studio magic" they employ. They were just badasses who could just tear it up. Good choice for a reaction vid.
I haven't been called normal people for quite some time. Thanks Molley. Lol
There was a year (2004?) at Download festival where Lars wasnt well and Metallica headlined and had Joey Jordison (slipknot) and Dave Lombardo (slayer) fill in. I was there, it was bloody awesome.
Killer! Love me some SLAYER!!
Saw them 30+years ago. Early 90's, in Budapest. Remember as the best concert of my life. Machine Head opened.(Maybe future reaction for Davidian?) I can clearly recall Aaraya (vocalist) never stopped smiling despite the dark lyrics.
Pretty sure Machine Head didn't exist in 84
@@RickJames-wf2rm Thanks, Bud! Guess miss typed it!🍻
Found this at age 16...now 40❤
A friend of mine years ago really liked a guy but couldn't quite get into his head as he was a metal head, and she was a goth. I came up with the Slayer test. I gave her one of the discs of the 2 disc live album they put out and told her to listen to it nonstop for 24 hours, even when she was asleep. When the 24 hours were up, I went to see her at work. This was the conversation, closest as I can remember to verbatim:
"Okay, did you listen to it nonstop?"
"Yes."
"Alright, how do you feel?"
"I want to 💀 something."
"Now, this is the important part. Is that a good feeling or a bad feeling?"
"A bad feeling."
"Give up on trying, it's never gonna work."
She kept trying for a bit, but they were never really able to connect.
As soon as I hear those 3 tom beats, I get goosebumps everytime. Been a metalhead over 30 years n it NEVER gets old.
So glad you’re watching the Original line up, nice.
I've watched this so many times....the way Kerry King rocks back & forth during the intro like a psychopathic beast ready to pounce gets me every time...absolutely awesome 👍🍻🇦🇺
Slayer has been in my life since i was 11, now 49. Can't believe i have to do without now....(Yes, they're doing some festival-gigs, but u know what i mean).
I'm 47 years old and I've been playing guitar since I was 9, in 1986, I heard Welcome Home(Sanitarium) by Metallica, Mr. Crowley by Ozzy, and I was hooked, but 88 rolled around, and I heard the riff for South of Heaven, and at that point everything was cemented, that riff is so eerie, I was hooked.
Oh, my! Are you prepared?
this video is from Sofia Bulgaria, and i proud too saw it ..BIG 4
Chilean pride 😂🎸🇨🇱, thank you so much!
Always happy to drop in for Slayer. (About time, too. I haven't seen anything from you in, like, a month. I will say, that Tori Amos covered this song and it was f-ing brilliant. Yeah. Tori Amos. Your mom probably knows who she is.
Glad you get to see Lombardo in his element. Funny memory in regards to girlfriends or the the uninitiated, it was the beginning of the show and all the white crosses were projected on to the black curtains in front of the stage and the woman next to me asked what was the deal with all the crosses....and then they slowly rotated upside down...she was like...ooooh ok. Then curtains opened up. SLAYER!!!!
Check out that big smile on Tom's face lol 😂 He is having so much fun!
I had the chance to see this lineup the same year, in Sonisphere Istanbul. Glad i did. It was epic. RIP Hanneman.
You should see the world's biggest (in the mosh pit) wall of death that Slaughter To Prevail did a few weeks ago!! That is a metal concert!!
Slayer is Heavy!!!!
So Slayer has been my favorite band since I was like 13. 33 years! I live in a smaller northern Minnesota town of around 18,000 people and fucking SLAYER played at our event center! Along with Lamb of God and Behemoth. Best day ever for my town! I was so proud of my town that day! 🖤🤘🏻🖤 Um and women love the shit out of metal.
Probably could've picked a better live version but still glad your doing another Slayer song
South of heaven I know you'd really enjoy
Got my nose busted in Milwaukee during Slayer, used my white tee to soak up the blood and wheat right back into the pit. Gotta bleed at a Slayer show!
Saw them 3 times in the early 90s. They had the best pits!
This is one of the best live versions.
SLAYER
Line-up 2010
Tom Araya: Bass, Vocals
Jeff Hannemann (R.I.P.): Lead Guitars
Kerry King: Lead Guitars
Dave Lombardo: Drums
Cheers from CHILE!!!
Saw em riiiight around this time 2010ish at Carolina Rebellion. Still the best live show I've ever seen.
Also I must say, the mosh pit is the nicest violent place in the universe. I remember if you or anyone ever fell in the pit, 10 thousand hands would snatch you right back to your feet. Metalheads are nice as fuck no lie. Super wholesome. Also you do see some hardcore ladies in the mosh pit more than you'd think
Dream Theater are playing in London in a few months... If that was your first concert experience, You would never forget it. I guarantee it!! RIP Jeff Hanneman...
this would be pretty epic!!!!^^^
First time i saw slayer was at burn odeon... boom head blown off ... had to see em their final tour as well...
Slayer played a gig in Portsmouth and my friend was making his way to the bar and kerry King passed him accidentally knocking him over.
At least you can watch their "live intrusion" DVD released in the 90s. The whole concert is insane
Great reaction Molly Boy
It was awesome to be able to see Slayer live
Tom reminds me of ice cube in the sense that his straight face just makes him look mean but the moment he smiles he looks completely different and sweet! I love some old slayer but I have to be in the mood for it.
It always makes me smile seeing that happen. Before Tom is like "REIGN IN BLOOOODHH!!!" and then, one minute later, "thank you very much! [big smile]".
I was it that mosh! It was an epic show! 🤘
Yyyyeeeeeeeeaaaaaaassssssss!!!!! This put to Christmas lights amazing as well!!! I love bad ass metal to Christmas lights!!! First song I ever heard from slayer, and was hooked!!! Love this band!!
And no the first time wasn't to the Christmas lights!!! The fact someone did that drew me in!!
Just think about how many of us are all setting around with a snarl and head bob going on.
Anyone remember the south park episode where the hippies had taken over the town. The boys built a drilling machine to make their way to the stage so they could put Slayer on the boom box to make the hippies go away.
RIP Jeff 🖤🤘🏻
Good reaction. This performance is not long after Tom had his neck/back surgery. This is why he no longer headbangs
When going through the drive-thru, at the speaker we'd scream Slayer! 😂😂😂
One of the best bands I've ever seen!
The drummer Dave Lambardo is one of the legends to...stands next to Joey Jordison...poor Dave had to quit Slayer...they were screwing him over big time with his money..he drummed his a$$ off man..he was only making like 65000 a year after everything from a tour from hotel stays paying managers and lawyers and staff..he made alot less than the rest...God bless him he was just doing what he loved to do...great job reacting Molly Bo
Look up “Wall of Death” it’s a way to slam dance. It is CRAZY to see! ❤ oh and I saw Slayer, Slipknot , Anthrax and Megadeth in 2016. I threw my kids in the mosh pit! Now they’re hooked! Mad love from Oklahoma!!
First time I saw SLAYER was the Seasons In The Abyss tour in Charlotte NC. Testament opened.
Been a while. Hope youre ok brother. Well, here i am sat in my Reign in Blood Tshirt enjoying this fine performance - and you're cool as ever reaction.
Slayer, quite simply, thrashed hard. Probably only one album that was a diversion, but they stuck to their thrash roots for the most part. Even their final studio album was fire. I mean, the energy needed for this is emense. I remember listening to Slayer Live at Donnington on the radio decades ago and just before the set started the radio host said:
"To play like this you need to be as fit as an athlete and as precise as a fighter pilot".
Never a truer word said. Thrash is hard to play, especially live.
Yes, the breakdown section is on the album version and yes, more Slayer live. Anything from the early days would be awersome.
Take it easy. Cheers. 🤘🏻
I saw Slayer live once. Everybody around me just went crazy. It was awesome
Classic old school thrash metal. Although I will admit that my tastes have become a bit more refined, this shit never gets old LOL
There isn't a better metal band than Slayer. 🤘
You really need to get yourself to a live rock show. There’s nothing like it
The law says, at this song, there has to be a moshpit in front of the stage 😁
I had the chance to go see them live in, I think, 2013, but didn't. My friend went and she told me it was awesome. It was the original line-up, and they played the entirety of Reign in Blood album. To this day I still regret not going.
You gotta react to the band Death, bro! Come on 😤
Going to see them in October at aftershock. Can’t wait.
DAAAAMMMMMMMMN they're all feedin' back on the 'Marshall Stacks'!!!!!! f-kin A!!!!!!!
so damn much HARDCORE in these brothers' music...so freeking badass
When I was 16 I use to play this album over n over again at the time it was the heaviest thing I'd ever heard and every song on the album was a banger
So nice to see a live show reaction, it just goes to show that these guys can do it live, no backing tracks or nonsense like that, those guys on stage doing pure raw music. I saw Slayer live back in the day, and am so glad I did, as we will never see that line up again, glad you enjoyed MollyBoy. RIP Jeff, still missed.
Dave Lombardo is arguably THEE best metal/drummer. You should check out Dave playing War Inside My Head with Su
cidl Tendencies. Drum cam. It's a long song, but I think you would like it. PS- he was about 54, 55 at that time.
Nice video! Check out Slayer - Jihad its a great track!
If you want to check out Live Slayer, then there is a live version of Jihad, they played it at the same concert you checked out in this video
First time I saw Slayer was in for the show no mercy album and I haven't missed them ever since they've come to Houston I've made sure I was there. The RIP album still raises the woo woo hairs on the back of my neck
Yes that breakdown is in the studio version
Great song!
Grand Funk Railroad
"Inside Looking Out" the live version
THRASH will ALWAYS put you in a good mood.. this is why us thrashers have been into this for over 35 years man.
You should do them doing hell awaits live in 1985 at studio 54 🤘
There’s a redub of this video called “Raining Jazz” you should react to. The visuals and the vocals are unchanged, but the instruments are replaced with jazz. The contrast is quite humorous.
During the intro they are doing a feedback loop - bring guitar close to amplifier so that sound coming out of the amp makes the strings vibrate, thus sending the same signal again into the amp and so on. Normally you want to avoid it, but good guitarists can get nice effects out of it.
I have seen them live 4 times.... they kick ass.....
Yes yes yes!!!!!!! It’s so good! I’ve seen this live 4 times. SLAYER!!!!!🤘🏻 Slayer live is the best! The crowd gets so crazy. Ugh….love Slayer! You need to watch the video where it actually rains blood!
I saw Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax and Alice In Chains (opener) Best concert ever 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
Most of the fans was there for Metallica. This was from the Big 4 Dvd and also it was streamed in theaters across the world back in 2010
Anthrax opened up for the big 4 portion of the festival
Megadeth
Slayer
Metallica
That was the order from the dvd and theaters
