This is the first time that I watch one of your videos. I'm so glad I did. You have a new fan!! I am going to use almost all the ideas. I am so thankful.
OMGosh! Brain overload. I’m new to card making and I want to try every technique you did. The shape card! Oh my, that may have to be the first!! Wait, maybe the window. Oh dear! Thank YOU for the inspiration to just dive in!! Watching from the US!!
I have really been into working with die cuts lately. Thank you for a good basic instructional video. I plan to use some of these techniques in my craft room.
I totally agree that the basic nesting sets of dies are a MUST have for scrapping and card making. It's amazing that crafters give up on their basic shape dies. Those should be a staple in everyone's arsenal!! Please share more of your ideas. Although I think that I can come up with great ideas you think totally outside of the box!! I never saw the full circle card technique or the Shaped card Technique, before. I will definitely use that. I loved all of your techniques.THANKS!!
WOW! I better get out my circle dies, I don't use them enough. I absolutely love how you created so many shapes techniques. This is so inspiring! Thank you and big thumbs up! ;)
What super great lesson you gave. Firstly you speak clearly. Plus you explain the why's of things you are doing. You have just shown how easy it is to use simple dies for card making. Thank you for Teaching this to us.
Great tip for making circle cards! Your cards are adorable, and I love the flower peeking through the circle on vellum. I definitely want to do the circle card and the lovely flower one peeking through the circle. Thanks so much for the great tip and the card ideas.
This video was so very helpful to a newbie like me. I love all the techniques and have enough supplies to make them. I don’t have the beautiful stamps that you used as this video is almost 3yrs old. Tyfs. Hugz!
Thank you for such a thoughtful video - we often overlook those 'basic' supplies however with a bit a of creativity we can get so much more out of them! Great ideas ( especially the frame) - thank you!
WOWEE! What a COOL video, Carissa!! I LOVE the wonderful variety in cards using those basic shape dies! CLEVER DESIGNS n’ ideas AND LOVELY cards! I learned some “neat tricks”, too, especially with the “;shape card” creation! I, too, sometimes have “snafus” when cutting a strip to match a “circle” shape so your tip to cut the DSP from the same-sized shape and THEN placing the strip is SO HELPFUL! :-)). I’m pulling out my dies today and going to “play” using some of YOUR CREATIVE ideas! TFS n’ HAPPY STAMPIN’ n’ CREATIN’! Looking forward to the Ellen Hutson releases! Enjoy your day! I know I will have fun “playing”, too! :-))
I was admiring your pretty unmarked embossing plate. Ooo la la! I love the stamps and dies you used. My neighbor was trying to dry emboss yesterday and needed my help. I have the "sandwich recipe" to do this on the big shot and was able to help. These are fun techniques and I forget to use them. The last circle card I made that was like the second circle card idea you used. I made an Oreo cookie card and it turned out so cute. I love my Cricut die cutting machine but it doesn't give me the nice edges that the dies do. Thanks for the video!
New subscriber, and have just got the Sizzix Big One Plus for my Birthday, which included the square nesting set, so thanks for sharing this video, new to die cutting. Also I do need to be shown the basics on different methods making cards, then i start getting all kinds of ideas. Best wishes from England. xxx
Fantastic video. I'm going to go back through all my dies and get those basic's out and make some great cards, Thank YOU...oh and your laugh is contagious! :) lol
Finally a new idea 💡!! Great video. I am not creative but I am great at copying. Occasions to use these methods are already rushing through the brain. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us.
Great video, just discovered your videos so will be subscribing for more inspiration. Need to ask you, how come your die cutting plates are completely unscratched? Are you using a magic mat underneath instead of one cutting plates?
I'm brand new to die cutting, etc. i bought a Cuttlebug just 4 weeks ago. Having lots of fun already!! At the very first thing in your video you cut a circle from a folded card. I was wondering how you cut that first circle on top of your card and it didn't also cut out a circle on the back side of your card??? I thought the die woild cut thru a folded card thru both pieces of card stock. Thanks so much, waiting to hear your answer. :)
Love your ideas! I have a Big Shot and pads and love it but often get confused with my different “sandwiches”. When you embossed the circles what was the order?
Carissa thanks for all the sneaky peeks, and a look at how creative you are ... I'll never look at a simple circle die quite the same ... pssst - love the debossed technique!=] Michele
What kind of stamp pad did you stamp the flower stencil with before adding embossing powder? I'm new to embossing & wonder what makes the powder stick to the image so u can heat set it. ... jewell
Thank you for sharing your videos
Glad you like them!

GmaPat89 she didn't fold the card until after cutting it. Look at the size of the piece of card.
GmaPat89 yes you can cut thru 2 layers if not to heavy of card stock about 80# weight would be good
Thanks, it did look like it was cut on the two layers. Appreciate your clarifying that for me. :)
Thanks, Candace, for the info about the cardstock thickness making a difference for cutting two pieces at once.
Great cards, thanks for sharing
Where do you get the containers that you use for your embossing powder? Thank you for your videos. I love watching them.
I got some that look very similar, if not identical, from amazon. I think the brand name is Sistema.
Wow! These are great tips. I'm glad I saw this even tho it's 6 mos old. Thanks so much.
Great video! Thank you!!!
Awesome video!

How did you attach the vellum to the inside of the card please?
With glue! We love the The Original Precision Craft Glue, Bearly Art from ellenhutson.com
