This entire dlc just proves shao khan is the dumbest villian in the entire mortal kombat series literally almost every succes shao khan gets is based on cowardly tactics and a heavy amount of luck that ultimately ends up in him screwing himself over
The thing about villains teaming up, is they always betray each other in the end.

@@khai96x To be fair to Shao Kahn, he did poison Onaga to usurp his throne. Probably finished him off in Kombat while he was poisoned, too. So, yeah, Shao Kahn also knows about deception, but was deceived by someone even more deceptive than even him.

Sadly the Neatherealm writers couldn’t resist suckling him off one last time as they reveal he not only killed Sindel but framed it like a suicide because of “reasons” true they give a “reason” but it’s really vague and there’s no in universe reason it had to happen and hell it didn’t even work as Kahn KNOWS what he did.
I love Shang Tsung in Aftermath. He is that rare "smart" villain. He doesn't let the others goad him. He plays it cool until he gets the crown at the right time.

Worked out fine for him. The whole revival thing got him just enough trust that the heroes would not kill him, helped Shao Kahn regain power so everyone would get distracted, and he got to backstab everyone in the end, and suck on the power of all major players trough the whole thing.
His only fault, getting blindsided by Liu Kang who essentially forsaw the whole thing trough the hourglass. And even there he does end up the winner if the player chooses him.
It is really not his fault that everyone else in this universe holds the idiot ball.

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa Is born to play this snake-cunning sorcerer since the 1995 MK movie.
He’s Shang Tsung until he dies.
Exactly. His voice is iconic to this character, just like Keith David's voice with Spawn. Without their voices, this game wouldn't have been as great as it is. Neatherealm Studios did a great fan service with this.

Shang Tsung, best MK villain ever. I hate the Evil Sindel retcon, so this was satisfying to watch, and also because of what they did to the heroes earlier. Shang Tsung indirectly avenged the heroes.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
And with the crown Shang Tsung now controls both time and destiny and his power far far exceeds any elder gods or titans. All realities, the stars, entire universe and galaxies should and will bow down before Shang Tsung.

My only regret in this scene is that Sindel didn't suffer more for betraying Kitana and breaking her heart, she doesn't deserve the Honour of being a "Mother"

When the last chapter said “checkmate” I knew then Shang Tsung would turn on everyone
I mean, it's Shang Tsung, that's enough of a hint in itself. That and the scene where he's wearing the crown and Fire God Liu Kang shows up to stop him was in trailers before Aftermath was released.
Hell, everyone knew that Shang Tsung was gonna betray them. It’s only a matter of when.

This is the perfect depiction of Shang Tsung. I’ve always loved the character, but hated how he was always treated like a weak Snake. Here he’s still a snake, but he’s so open and confident about everything!

I absolutely hated playing through Sindel and Shao Kahn’s chapter. So when Shang Tsung got to fight them I showed their asses no mercy. I can rewatch them getting their souls stolen until the next mk game comes out.
That was the only good chapter worm, Shao Kahn is the greatest and Shang is a pussy hiding behind the power of that crown

That's because evilness is born of selfishness, there's no evil person in life who is humble, an evil guy is always selfish, and he does anything to satisfy his Unsatisfyable self, so he gains any chance to get to whatever he wants, even friendship or alliance to reach his goal but he knows that the other evil guy in his alliance has agenda as well, so it is either to take out his ally and satisfy his greedy self or just wait till the other villain betrays him, and any villain always chooses the first option, that's why there is no such a thing as a villain league.

I swear to god. Seeing Shang Tsung in MK11 is just a treat. He sounds so charismatic and gentle yet he is a genuine menace. I also love em in MK1 both his reboot and titan variant

For some reason, I felt a great closure to the original bad guy trio in MK. To see Shao Khan, Sindel & Shang Tsung rise to reign supreme, is really a treat for me. I mean, it's freaking Shang Tsung man! The original guy from MK movie! He's so iconic (been rooting for this guy ever since) and to see him getting his own arc and even a great ending is really awesome in my lifetime. It makes my MK journey (since the 90's).. komplete.

I look at this Mortal Kombat flashpoint. Mortal Kombat time rules seems to pretty much follow Dc time rules for the most part.
Shang Tsung killed the retconned Shao Khan and Sindel. He deserves points for that.

I turned into an 9 year old boy again when I first seen the GREATEST portrayal of Shang Tsung in this game! These guys are great when it comes to fan service. They even referenced the Spawn/Batman crossover comic. I love how they nod to hardcore fans.

Shang Tsung betrayed and killed Shao Kahn and Sindel just like Starscream betrayed and threw Megatron off Astrotrain to leave him for dead. The only difference is that Megatron turned into Galvatron by Unicron and killed Starscream as payback.
Everyone talks about how Sindel deserved that for what she did to Kitana and Liu Kang, but no one talks about she deserved every fucking bit of that for killing the most of the cast in act three of MK9.

Here's the thing, this Shao Kahn and Sindel wouldn't know that Shang Tsung would betray them because it's never happened to them, this Shao Kahn is the one from half way through MK9, as for Sindel, if she has all of her memories from being a Revenant and before being a Revenant, she knows that Shao Kahn actually betrayed Shang Tsung near the end of MK9, and since this Shang Tsung was older looking earlier, he obviously isn't from after that event.
