I'm A Lombax Also kind of Sheeva whose whole motivation is born from her loyalty to Sindel; at least the idolized version of her that is a good queen.
Making Sindel evil makes no sense. It contradicts all her previous character endings showing her as a loving mother and a just queen.
if Aftermatch ending lead to MK12 using Great Kunglao as main char, they likely gonna use that recot and make it real then too.
Remember that this is a different timeline than original MK3, Deception and Armageddon.
@@Citanoo Yeah starting with MK9 in which is stated that she killed herself in order to put a protective ward on earthrealm so Shao Khan could not invade it as he did to Edenia.
And now Aftermath comes around and tells us Sindel always loved Shao Khan and was as evil as him, to the point of killing Jerrod. If that's the case, why on earth did she commit suicide in order to prevent Shao's further conquests in the first place?
The probolem is not that they retconned her. Is that they did it terrible.

Kitana isn’t dead people her revenant got killed (evil future kitana) so her past self (the good alive one) isn’t dead and she’s fine. If her past self would of been the one to die than she would be fully dead like Kano but thankfully that didn’t happen 💙

interesting analysis. I always thought of it as instead of being happy she is with her daughter, she has to put on a facade in order to trick her daughter into thinking she is good.
I think she had some second thoughts at that moment, probably because Kitana was so kind and loving to her, and, by all means, she is her mother, but her power thirst got the upper hand over her maternal feelings, whatever they were. When she said that Kitana should be put in chains to feel the anguish of defeat, I think that that was her buying time in order to not let Kitana be executed by Shao Kahn, although it is obvious that Sindel would never let her daughter get any empowered position again.

The Sindel retcon was the turning point of the whole Aftermath story, considering Shang Tsung knew all along that she was evil before Quan Chi's brainwashing.
Rewatching the story, there were foreshadowing moments, like when Shang Tsung said "Sindel is the key", and Kronika mentioned something like "Shang Tsung wouldn't go through the trouble to restore her if it didn't secure victory".

I think that a glimpse of regret passed through her eyes, a speck of second thoughts popped up on her mind when Kitana hugged her. But she snapped out of that quickly, because her power lust was stronger than her maternal instincts, whatever those instincts were.
Even tho Liu Kang is my favorite, I do like Shao Khan sonning everyone, especially Johnny Cage. Also that Kodak moment between Liu Kang and Kitana was perfect

I hope the writers find a balance for Sindel in future games. I know many fans are angry that in MK11 Sindel is evil, but on the other hand, I really like her relationship with Shao Kahn in this game (which added some humanity to his character) and I would not want the authors to "forget" about this couple.

I was introduced to her in mk 3 I think. And I believe I was only 12 or something I don't even know. I remember deadly alliance being the first one I owned though. Anyway I'm 26 now and always assumed she was evil though I knew the history. I don't see her as good lmao. And I saw the cutscenes of her being good but there's far more footage of her being bad lmao. Cause it's what's good. And it's obviously what the developers want to keep pushing, but all anyone talks about is their personal preference.

It seems like they're heading into deception/Armageddon territory with all of the references (havik-onaga-daegon-argus-mileena-ermac) etc … and we saw how Sindel was in Deception. Isn't there a possibility her story could change and then continue onward? With her as "good" again.

11:05 Shao Kahn and Sindel doesn't agree on LiuTana. So Shao Kahn stepped on Liu Kang's hand and smash both legs, and Sindel is putting her foot on Kitana's head while incapacitate. So sad to see them in very awful situation like this. 😢

Yeah this timeline the villains won. Cassie and Johnny would have become slaves after being captured, Sindel presumably killed Sheeva, Kotal got killed (offscreen which is upsetting), Kung Lao was thrown into the sea, Jade probably would have become a slave, or executed later after her battle with Sindel and Kitana would be chained and punished because of Sindel’s order
Guys it is safe to say that Liu Kangs ending is the canon one. Everyone is safe relax. Apart from Shangh of course...

@Adam Young How do you think fans of Shao Kahn felt with MK11? For the first time he's tossed aside like a C grade villain and beaten by one of the weaker MK characters. This was cool in that way, we see an alternate timeline where Shao kahn returns and smashes Kitana and Liu Kang, and does Shao Kahn things. It doesn't even matter because Liu Kang resets the timeline again so they're fine.
I personally don't get the Kitana-Liu Kang relationship. They just eye each other once at the MK tournament and now they are soulmates destined to be together for thousands of years.
