Thirty caliber gun, not thirty millimeter. Big difference. I built this kit a few months back, also doing the Doolittle Raid version. I also built a 1/72 B-25 by another manufacturer, which really pointed out the scale difference. This vintage kit shows it's age, but I do enjoy building these "old school" kits, bringing back memories from my childhood in the late 1960s. I am so glad Atlantis is bringing some of these old kits back.
WD, Ours worked great but there's things to try for a fix. Glue the plane's mount to the slot in the fuselage. If the ball fit is too tight - sand a little off the equator of the ball. If it's too loose - make sure the stands receiver is glued shut with no gap. If it's still too loose add a little superglue to the circumference of the ball. When it dries test fit it to the receiver and repeat or remove material until it's acceptable. PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers. -Doug
I have a ton of Atlantis kits. I’ve built the S2F Hunter Killer, the P6M Seamaster, the B-52 with X-15, and the B-29. But I have the B-25, B-36, P-3 Orion, F-11 Tiger, and the PBY Catalina to build.
Love the build and the skit, but I have discovered something interesting, I recently built a 1969 Chevy Camaro Z 28, revell motor city muscle, I have discovered that I didn’t need to use any setting solution for the decals on that kit, you could say that they just like attached to the hood, like the hood scoop is is a classic flange scoop and there’s decal stripes for it and they just perfectly contour to the hood scoop, so it’s leaving me to wonder if revell has done something with their decals Also you deserve all the props in the world on your figure painting skills: )
NA, There are a lot of variables to decals adhesion. It's starts with the age of the decals but in many cases you don't need setting aids. That's when the surface is relatively smooth and the contours are gentle. On other features like raised panel line rivets you're going to need a setting solution for even the thinnest decal to look like they were painted over the rivets! Thanks for your feedback! -Doug

Looks like Atlantis is getting sloppier with their injection-molding since the same kit reviewed by "hpiguys Workshop" on 21 Sept. 2019. In his review, he used no putty at all for the fuselage, especially since he didn't seem to have the degree of sink-marks in his kit as you did with yours. Otherwise, nice build!

I hate the mount. There's only a slot on the bottom. The top of the mount is some weird round thing that won't fit.
