I've carried a Glock ever since my agency transitioned to them from revolvers in 1993. They are utterly reliable which is all I care about in a fighting pistol.
You don't care about accuracy?!

Ditto , I still carry my USP occasionally as well , just so she doesn't feel left out ❤
I'm a retired LEO, back around '94 my agency issued us Glock 17's and I hated them. I was previously carrying a Beretta 92 and was very attached to it for its reliability and accuracy. A few months into carrying a G-17 I chased a perp on foot who was known to be armed so my G-17 was in my hand. I tripped over a tree root and fell, submerging the gun to the sandy dirt of south FL where I worked. Within a few more minutes (and our K-9) we got our perp in custody and off to jail.. The following day I went to the range with the G-17 still caked in the sandy dirt from the night before. I mag-dumped the entire mag and the G-17 cycled every round in it and slidelocked on the last round. Thats when I started changing my mind on Glock pistols. I carried a number of them thru the years of my 30+ year career. Still own many of them and currently carry a G43X as my EDC.

After spending a fortune on "better" pistols over the years, I keep coming back to the G19. For me, it is still the best midsized carry pistol on the market.
I concur to this , lol . Have various of pistols from bul armory , staccatos , sigs and I always come back to my g19!
BS!

LAUGH. MY. ASS. OFF. Glocks are the junk food of the pistol market.
I bought not one but two shadow systems they're great but for some reason the g19 gets more carry time
I've carried the same Glock 17 for 33 years. It has never let me down!

@@tax905972What is real ammunition? You keep saying the same thing and it doesn’t make sense.
Badass. Ive only been carrying for 3 years, as im 24, but i cant wait to say the same thing about my G45 three decades from now
Don't shoot alot then?
It really does amaze me that our own military could watch sooo many other countries adopt the Glock as is with no issues, then turn around and say, "You know what it really needs is a thumb safety."
We've got Medics and drivers straight outta high school that get MTOEd M17s that'll go post some cringe TikTok of them at the range doing dumb stuff. You're dang right they have a safety! It's not for them, it's for everyone else when the Soldier is being retarded!
Huh? I thought they adopted the p320 because they got a better deal?
It's sad, but it's liability no one wants to have. No officer wants to be the guy who made the "no external safety" decision and then be called out when a dumb 19 year old shoots their femoral 2 years later. Same reason for PT belts.
I don't agree with it, I prefer no manual safety, but that's the reasoning for such a large organization to require them.
And Glock made one with a safety. The original 19X they presented had one. The army went with Sig because well.. ya know… they cheap af
Think about the back grounds of the people that sign up, not all of them have firearms experience. Don’t even get me started on some officers lol safeties are a good thing. Run it like your AR, I could never understand how people get so worked up about safeties on a pistol but on a rifle it’s accepted as part of the manual of arms
The more they hate Glock, the more I want Glock 😂
Cuz ur a yummy fudd

As a gun shop owner, the most consistent firearm we sell to "civilians" and duty oriented professionals is Glock. They sell themselves. Even with guns that have demonstrably better mechanics, the years of Glock marketing, reliability, and aftermarket support make them the #1 seller across the board. People simply feel comfortable with a Glock purchase even if it's not the "best" gun in that price range.
"duty oriented professionals"
Government goons serving the interests of politicians. Goons that only have to qualify once a year with their firearms.
That is how i got the 43x over the 365
People feel that way because they’ve proved that they are the “best” gun for the purpose most people are buying them for.
Except, it IS the best pistol out there for the money.
I don’t think there are any pistols out there with better mechanics than a Glock…
Why glock? 40+ year track record of reliability, 35 parts, near infinite aftermarket, can be detail stripped with a pen cap, low bore axis, accurate.
You nailed it dude. That was the whole point of this video 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Shitty grip angle, shitty sights, shitty trigger, overpriced.
there's a reason glock's been losing market share and contracts all over the place.
Carried 1911's for a few years and never had any interest in Glocks.
I wanted something to knock around in my Jeep that could get beat up and not care, so I picked up a police trade in G22.4 for $300. I swapped all the necessary parts to convert to 9mm and fell in love with it. Picked up a G19.3 and got rid of all but two 1911s and gave them to my step-dad. I went thru all the other plastic guns, except for FN as their triggers were all so much worse than my Glocks. I carried various Glocks while I worked through the other guns and just found I enjoyed the Glocks more. I have ton of magazines, spare parts and could build a full Glock based on what's available from gun shops around my town. You can build an open gun, leave it stock or something in between, and any way they're just solid, great guns.
Glocks are amazing. If I could only own one firearm forever - can't own anything else... It would be a Glock, and a Glock 19 to be precise.
Glocks arent amazing, just common. They aren’t anything special other than the amount of them in circulation.
#19 like rite here! Also a 19X owner and it’s my EDC with a TREX SIDECAR holster and STREAMLIGHT TLR-1HL weapon light. Yes Glocks are amazing! I personally agree. Kick ass battle ready out the box and reliable as f^@%.

I switched my duty carry to a Shadow System and attended a class last weekend, after rolling in the dirt, it consistently jammed afterwards because some dirt got in it. Never had that issue with my Glocks. Glock is in fact king.
Have you done the same class with a glock to see if it would have the same issues? IIRC thr only handguns to really handle dirt well are the Beretta 92 and the CZ75 Omega.
Was the pistol broke in with at least 200 rounds before putting into service?

Rolex hasn’t changed their model design in decades either. When a product is made to a certain level of usability or style. It becomes a classic. H&K has the USP, Sig has the P229. Glock is the same
Well same concept design but you can't take Gen 5 parts and put them on a Gen 4 or a Gen 4 and put them on a Gen 3.
The H&K USP has the worst handgun ergonomics ever.

Not a glock fan by any means but I got the Glock 45 MOS and I must say, its my favorite handgun to shoot! I love the G17 grip and G19 slide combo. It shoots so good! my go to carry gun too!
Yes the g19x was my firts experience with that slide and grip combo and oddly enough i shot better with it than a full size g17
Yes I care a lot. Glocks help protect my family. I have confidence in them after many many years of use. Thank you.
The utilization of Gaston Glock Horse Semen at the end was genius.
My first Glock? The G19. That was more than a while ago. It fit my hand and I shot it well. I am fine with this gun as an everyday carry.

I know right? There's no other gun channels of youtube. It's a real bummer.
I love my Glocks and find myself constantly going back o them from 2011s and all other platforms. They are just my comfort gun.
Yeah. Forget cost, I chose Staccato over Atlas (owned 2 Atlas , ran thousands of rounds ) and for the 3rd time about to go back to Glock over Staccatos.
Did the same thing about a year ago I love my staccato s but went back to my 19 and picked up a 47 and everyone thought I was crazy
Hard to beat, I would add very easy to fix and keep inexpensive spare parts on hand. No finicky roll pins to deal with no delicate little springs that have to fit just right. I worked on an agency training team for eleven years the issue guns were model 22 and 23 Glocks. The 40s took a beating all I ever saw or needed to repair/replace in that time were recoil spring assemblies and a few less than 10 chipped extractors. Later I did the same for two police academies, they ran all model 19s and all I ever had to fix in over 10 years were a few less than 5 trigger springs. These were training guns for the cadets with tens of thousands of 9mm ball through them. Lots of guns shoot better, look better, point better, feel better. But when I put down my ego, and all the guns I really like better, and truly believe I gotta have something that works right now no matter what its a Glock. Many times I wish that were not true but it is. Like these guys allude if you were dropped in the middle of nowhere right now what pistol do you think you could get and keep running
I don’t care what anyone says. I like the look of Glocks. Simple, straightforward design. The only thing that would make me like it even more is if they made it with paddle mag release. I’ve been looking at the VP9 mainly because of their mag release.
Buy a vp9!!! I've a L version and is amazing, some time ago I've rented a g17 at the range and you cannot compare the two gun... For the mag release you have to be used at, my father "hate it" for me is the same... My two cents
I love my VP9 the paddle is sweet especially if you have large hands/long fingers
The paddle release on the gen 1 Walther ppq is better check it out
I absolutely agree. The PPQ M1 perfected paddle releases by making them long and thin, rather than short and wide.
Because of owning a ppq m1 with the paddle magazine release I've switched the magazine release on my other guns to the right side and now I can release the magazine with my trigger finger like on my ppq.
When you guys inevitably grow and expand the business I will 100% be applying to work with y’all. As a fellow utah’n I recognize the humor. You guys just got a new sub and a new fan for sure😂

I drive a Tundra with a 4.6 and carry a Glock too. Don't leave us 4.6 guys out, lol !
@@barrygoodson4952 I have a first gen tundra hahah. Same motor.
I personally like Glocks and Glock variants but I could honestly care less what someone likes. Just train and become proficient with your tools whatever brand that might be. We’ve got bigger problems than to sit around bitching about what gun someone has. Can they hit their target? Can they clear a malfunction? Can they get off the X? Can they shoot, move and communicate? These are the things I care about
One of the best reviews i've ever seen..

Bought my first G17 in 1992, and shot the first 2 inches of rifling out over the following 20yrs and carried that stock standard 5 digit serial number G17 in a number of countries on a number of assignments. I replaced it with another G17. Added a couple of other numbers to the collection over time.
I always find it interesting when other striker fired guns are compared to the Glock, only the Glock is a Glock, and only Glock can kill Glock.
However….. Glock is not my EDC, nor is it any of my competition guns anymore. I now only carry a Glock17 Gen3 keyring with me, and there might be a loaded Glock or 3 located somewhere in my home. Ask me which first handgun to buy, and I’ll tell you get a ……..

For FUN shooting I have an upgraded full size PDP with the match trigger and other doodads. For any and all CCW/EDC purposes I trust my 43X quite literally with my life. It's not a particularly fun gun to shoot, but I don't carry it for that reason. I know it will work when I need it to.
Hard to ditch the G19, always have one around. But I’d be hard pressed to recommend it as a penultimate striker fired pistol to first time shooters now, PDP, M&P, CZ, SA Echelon, all arguably better out of the box.
That's valid. Mostly because glock sights suck. Glocks still cheaper than a cz and the mags are the most affordable with the most sizes out of that list too.
@@ethanbarnes3973 Agreed. Echelon and P-10c offer tritium out the box, most PDPs come with plastic sights following Glocks lead which is kinda dumb and M&P OR gives out metal white dot suppressor height sights but at least they’re functional. FN really wins the sight game, blacked out front/rear that cowitness perfectly, but the 509 trigger sucks 😅

The biggest selling point for me on a glock is the fact that I can buy 2 factory mags for the cost of 1 sig mag and everyone in my friend group owns and carries a Glock with the exception of the 43 and 48 all our magazines interchange
I like other guns….but Glock has my heart in a way that a little boy has on Christmas morning when he gets that toy he wanted and couldn’t wait to open the present 😂
Best factor for Glock isn’t the pistol it’s the mags available everywhere for cheap and larger capacity in every caliber . HK usp is superior but 70 buck mags for only standard capacity is a factor . The pistol works but doesn’t blow away the competition in trigger accuracy or ergonomics but at the end of the day they are cheap even cheaper used and mags mags mags . And mags .
Eli Dicken used a G19 with plastic sights to make 8 hits out of 10 shots fired starting from 40 yds in 15 seconds in the food court active shooter in a mall in Indiana abt 2 hrs ago.
According to his attorney, he had been in a motorcycle accident not long before that and the sights had been damaged. Even still, look what he accomplished . ..
So does that mean you shouldn’t replace them?
@@Chrisblau nope you should absolutely replace them. But he did it. It's a data point.
How does the dude being able to nail a man sized target at not that far away because he obviously trained with his weapon make the Glock any better? Guess what, here where I live every cop carries a G17 and they couldn't hit an obese target at 5m away, so the Glock must be a trash weapon.
It’s the Indian not the arrow
@@chrisragone8785 yet I’m order to get a bow and arrow that functions correctly you have to just certain materials like certain types of wood in order to have enough flex and strength to work properly. The Indian is 90% of it. The bow and arrow still matters.

Glock was my first handgun choice in 94’ because of it’s capacity and RELIABILITY and I purchased on my 21st B-Day. I have had hundreds through the years but always held on to my first G17. i never thought id like glocks because i started with 1911's but after practicing with glocks the past few years it makes shooting better guns much easier... i would recommend becoming proficient with all types of firearms

Awesome review! I've been carrying my G26 gen 4 for years...Love it! However, I never thought I'd ever have one as they're ugly and just looked cheaply made. G23 at our bedside! ❤ Thanks for your torture testing and review! God Bless!
Wow, We have quite a similar story, in terms of view on the G26, renting it and placing my order immediately upon returning the rental. I was debating on 43x or an sig 365, then decide to rent the G26 and to my surprise I shot it better than the others named. I opted for a the Gen 5 and added the Pearce Pinky extension which change the look significantly to me. So the G26 pretty much went from one I never wanted to the one I now prefer as my edc, go figure. My other glocks rarely come out of the safe if I’m not taking them to the range 🤷🏻♂️
I have a 19 & a 26, with the 26 I can shoot just as accurately as my 19 if not better for some reason. The Glock 26 is the most underrated Glock in my opinion. Next Glock will most likely be a 20 or 40 because I need a 10mm

I'm like a degenerate gambler when it comes to Glocks: I've been issued and also privately owned them dating back to the Gen 3s. Every time I get one, it never works out for me. Then when a new caliber, model, generation comes out, I go get one w/such high hopes, and it never works for me, again. Then I do it again w/the next one and the same thing happens again.

I own many Glocks, but my G40 is my fav! I live in Griz country and it’s my woods gun. 15 rounds of 10mm is hell!!
You have to do all the tourture tests with a Staccato XC for comparison.
I would do that if staccato gives me a new gun after haha
“A fool & his money soon part.”
I’ve been looking at a new pistol. I’ve been carrying a full sized 1911 in .45 AIWB for a couple of years now since I got my CCW and I’m looking to get something in 9mm. I’m obviously looking for polymer frame striker fired just based on reliability and low maintenance and so I’m torn between a Glock and Shadow Systems. The SS Combat at my local gun store has all the upgrades I want out of the box and it has their awesome optics mounting system, and it’s not much more than a stock Glock MOS. I’m just wary of the lack of a long track record and some of their documented issues with qc.
The only thing about glocks I don't like is the slide lock. Sometimes my grip would push the lever up and lock my slide back with rounds in the mag. Solved when I cut the left side stop off my gen 5 and I'm sad my gen 3's don't have ambi stops so I'm stuck with those.
It’s funny you mention that. I’m wrong handed, and find the gen 3 Glocks to be fantastic because of the slide lock on the left hand side. I never have issues because my grip is on the opposite side of the slide lock.
I just love the 80’s retro futuristic, utilitarian styling of Glocks 🥰
Look up Chuck Taylor’s Glock torture test (2007 I believe). Went to 100,000 rounds and then continued.
Using a stick to yeet a gun is a new one for me, and I enjoyed it
Ya welcome
Smith & Wesson revolvers are essentially the exact same design they were in 1898. I think in our current day and age we are so spoiled for options that we think companies need to give us new and exciting options constantly. That's not to say the options are bad. We have a lot of awesome new guns out there today; it's a far cry from the days when everyone in the US was basically carrying a Smith, a Colt, or a cheap knockoff of one of the above. But Glock doesn't owe us innovation. If they need to innovate to stay relevant, they either will do so, or will fade into obscurity. But I wouldn't be surprised if "the" handgun is a Glock for at least as long as "the" revolver has been a double-action S&W, whether they change much of anything or not.
I will never give up my Glock 19 gen 5. I keep it stock and I don't care it prints. I stopped buying the latest greatest guns and saving a bunch of money.
Over the past 10 years all my cc have been glocks, "43x mos & 19 milled". They're boring accurate & reliable. For the past year I've strictly used a pdp for competition though and it's been running great!
Thank you for the video. I only own 2 Glocks the Glock 19 gen4 and the Glock 43x mos. Out of the many brands that I own, somehow I gravitate to carrying the G43x 60% of the time in a Tenicor SL2 holster. The other 40% is the 365xl.
The more I see unnecessary widgets added to guns while the quality control seems to be going down the drain, it makes me stick with Glock and build an entire system including a PCC with compatible mags around it.
Now, let's do this with a Staccato. It's been funny watching guys do this on TH-cam from the beginning of TH-cam. Never shocking that Glocks run afterwards. I've never seen a high value, better gun, than a Glock used in these test. Not once.
Correct. I agree 100%. We usually don’t do torture tests cause they have been done since the beginning this was more a overall love letter to Glock with some entertainment sprinkled in.
It’s just a way more expensive video that way haha
Just bought a Glock 19 cause I keep hearing everyone should be able to shoot a stock Glock. I shoot well with my SandHawk, EDC X9, Agency Glock 17L & even MY apocalypse gun the USP .45 tac. We “shoveled” it
I believe James Jaeger once said "All pistols should be Glocks", as in all handguns should take the baseline form that made Glocks successful. Striker fire, no manual safety with a trigger safety. Simple
Nothing wrong with Glock, I've owned a few (until I had to sell everything) and would likely still own them. There are simply other pistols that I naturally shoot better than a Glock, so I'd rather expend my time with something that I'm better with out of the box.
Why did you have to sell everything?
@@thelittledetailscr7231 My grandad had to sell off his entire farm and gun collection just from medical debt. Horrific industry.
Try getting parts for any other gun. It can take weeks to months to never. I can walk into any gun store and get most parts.
I don't own any plastic pistols yet but reserved a gen4 glock17 this week... thought that if I'm gonna try one why not get the classic first. A Beretta PX4 would look 10x better and feel quite a bit better but it doesn't use glock mags or 92 mags which to me was the tipping point
I’ve tried multiple brands of handguns but nothing I’ve shot compares to my Glock and with reliability.
Great video! That was some extremely scientific testing lol
We owed it to the scientific community
😂😂😂
I've tried all the wonder 9's (Sig X's and SA O's and S&W Y's) and I always end up back with my Glocks. Same feel across all sizes and calibers. You just can't beat that consistency across the board.
Where did you shoot your video? You should shoot a video at Lone Rock!
Nice Tudor watch 👌🏽! Hello from 🇨🇭
The Glock Gen 3 patents expired, that's why they are focusing on the Gen 5 except for keeping the 3 for California, and thats why everyone and their mom is making a Gen 3 Glock ripoff
I hated glocks (mostly because i didn't want to be associated with the "stendo mags, switch having, glizzy, i have a BEAM on my sh*t" glock people) then my gf bought me one. Now i edc a g17 gen 5 love that thing . . . I still hate those people though
We don't care
@@thickseed ok ☺️
Just say your a fudd with a Glock pointless introduction
DANGER CLOSE !! WE CAN READ BETWEEN THE LINES lolol
@joechapa3954 haha. I know not what you speak of sir.
After watching Ted Lasso, i cannot help but see "Beard" in this video. If you know, you know. Great video guys
For me the Glocks (3) are very good first generation models, but I have my Sigs as well, the Sig P220, 229, and 250 single action. One Glock I carried for years was the Glock model 30 in 45-ACP, I'm a big fan of the M-1911A1.
I love my Glock because it’s such an ugly pistol that I force myself to practice more so I actually shoot it well and can’t hide behind “well at least it’s neat” because it isn’t and never will be.
Lol
Man dug a hole with the flat shovel. Been having nightmares about this ever since.
The end definitely caught me off guard!😂😂
I think it threw all of us for a loop
😂😂😂😂
Making a custom glock from the ground up out of a P80 frame is the way to go.
I work at a range. Our smiths won’t touch a Frankenglock. Just know this going in. Great range queen, but iffy to carry.
@@jeffforbess6802 That's up to the builder and what they put in. Stick with OEM/vetted parts, know what sear engagement is, and you can get hundreds of flawless rounds from the day you put one together without getting a gunsmith involved.
But I get where you're coming from; gunsmith at a local range said my build is one of the few they've seen that isn't dogsh*t.
If you’re not rocking a Highpoint, you don’t know fire arms.
That dragonfly was very impressive sir, thank you
Glocks cost over$600 now
The amount of mansplaining Chris did for Jake in the first 10 minutes really makes me question if they're married.
I have a question. Why is it called Glock Perfection when you have to upgrade everything on it out the box.
So people that dont shoot guns will buy them.
Boom roasted
Only thing that’s a must is sights.
Are those belts super stiff? I can't stand a super stiff edc belt. I wish someone made a belt that was only stiff where it needed to be. Small spot appendix and then larger part from 1-5 o'clock maybe?
So is everything you say in the shadow systems vid about polymer guns still hold up today?
I shot a Glock for the first time in 1991. I fired a mag ( G17 ) then gave it back to the owner, unimpressed. I carried G22s as my service pistol during my LE career. They are now crated living their worst life in a tote, in my barn.
Glocks have been a necessary evil in my life for 30+ years. They work, mostly, and are more maintenance free than most guns.
However, they had garbage sights terrible triggers and abysmal ergonomics.
Every padawan I had on the range instantly shot better when I got them something ( service pistol type ) other than their Glocks.
Same and I agree with everything you said.
My friend for years hated glocks his personal firearm was a sig p226 then he shot one and was more accurate with it and now has retired his p226 and has a g19 gen 3. He lives in California.
Been carrying G22 gen 4 5years now for security work. Never had a problem.
