My Dad's brother was a combat medic in WWII. He carried a Schick from Normandy to Berlin. When my Dad passed on, he left the razor to me. Once the proper angle is found, the shave is smooth and close.
Love the Schicks. I'm not sure that taking out the used blade while storing the razor is really necessary with stainless blades and sometimes you'll wreck a blade if injecting it without a blade already in there as the sharp edge can scrape across the guide posts. This is why new Schicks came with a blunt blade inserted from the factory. I've bought plenty of Schicks with blades in that must have sat for decades with no ill effects. The plating on them is really good. Thanks for the video; that collection is awesome.
I have two type “E” injectors with the butterscotch handle. I agree. I love them. I have super tough facial hair at 60. And the SE / Injectors and straight razors are my favorite. Thanks Matt.

Well Matt, thanks as always for a great video. Had to wipe a tear from my eye watching this one. I grew up in the 60's and 70's and remember watching my dad shaving with a Schick. He was a diehard fan and never used anything else for wet shaving, although once in a while he'd go electric for some reason. I'm a Gem fan myself, but after watching your video I'm going to grab one of these. Just as a side note, I'll mention that the bathroom wall in my mom's house has thousands of injector blades in it... pretty common in that era I think. Not sure why this was ever considered a good idea.
@@snusmumriken232 Sometimes in older homes, there is a little slot on the bathroom wall that was used for used razor blades. They will literally just fall on the ground behind the drywall lol. As such, there is no way to remove them without destroying the wall.
Matt I found a Schick Injector Repeating Razor. I believe it’s a Model C with the Gold Finish. I found it for $30.00 with its original Leather Sleeve. Decent condition with 90% of the plating still intact. Think I should jump on it???? Not sure what they go for but I’m pretty sure that’s a steal . If I had to take a guess I would say $70-$100 maby

Wow ..great video. I like to think that saving with the Shick injector can be compared to the manuverability and the response of a sports car to a fullsize sedan. Shaves close aroud those tight spots,under the jaw line,chin, etc. Thanks for this great video

I have around 30, mostly mint unboxed. I do use the type L and M. I use it to a first pass before using a cart. Only if it's a fresh blade do I just use the injector only. It's much better as mentioned in the video to remove several days growth. You won't clog your cart or need to use a trimmer.

However, what about the beautiful Pal and Personna injectors out there? The Pal Adjustable, Pal Injectomatic, Personna Super Stainless, and Personna Floating head. All amazing and interesting with great shaves to match. Be the first to do a video on these incredible injectors that time forgot please.

The Type L models were generally promotional razors but really good shavers. For example, the one you showed with the gear shift ball handle, the L2, was called the Stick Schick and was a promotional for Formula 1 car racing. The one you showed with the "tennis racket" handle, the L3 called the Schick Grip, was a promotional for tennis but in Japan, it was sold as a promotional for golf. There was also the L6, called the Easy Rider, which had a yellow handle and was a promotional for the 1969 movie by the same name. The L7 was called the Championship and had a white handle with red and blue stripes. It was a promotional for the Olympics. My personal favorite Schick that I use now is the Type L5 "Paul Revere", an International Silver Company version with the "Paul Revere" tableware (fork, spoons, etc.) handle. The heavy handle gives it great balance in the hand when shaving. Another Schick I also use now is the Type J4 'Schick 500'. Long black handle, silver head, flip latch to open the head for easy cleaning. An excellent shaver.

Matt -- Can you do a Wilkinson Bonded Blade? -- it was popular in the early '70s before Gillette introduced the Trac II -- first cartridge, but very much like an injector!
I would be curious to hear your thoughts on The Single Edge 2.0 razor from Supply. It's an "adjustable" (uses plates), but is an injector type seemingly.
@@RazorEmporium I've honestly been curious. I just now got my first DE safety razor and it has been interesting. I'm trying to figure out at the moment how I avoid some irritation on the lowest part of my neck. Seems anymore something grows back even a little after a razor goes over it that I get irritation and it grows back so fast that it's irritated the next day and makes shaving more a problem seemingly.
I like the first razor he showed it’s a shame I don’t see them but the blades need improvement for me the blades don’t last for when I shave not even an entire shave I use almost two blades from one shave from beginning and second for finish touch because the first will get dull from two to three passes for me and the blades need to last a little longer like the safety razor blades or for schick to modify the head to take safety razor blade but snap it in half to use it as a single blade and clap it down.
Would I be able to use feather club blades in any Schick razor models? Looking to buy one now where I have one of each other more or less known vintage type of razor.

Great info. I've been on the fence about trying SE's for a couple weeks, but this video tipped the scales for me. I should have my type J and type L showing up next week, and I added a GEM 1912 to the mix for variety.

Thanks Prof. SE (Schick Enabler) for the history and education on Schicks! Now I'm going to look for an adjustable Schick (made during my birth period) on eBay or buy one from you when available. I should be receiving my Single Edge razor soon and with the extra blades I ordered, I should have plenty to try with my eventual Schick. I just started experimenting with shavettes and was wondering if I can use a single edge shavette blade in a Schick (if I can manage to keep the opening long enough to safely place the blade)?
Hello Matt! I have a shick razor injector it developed a problem it feels like the blade is nor touching the skin. Any suggestions or can I send it in for repair, this is my every day shaver. Pleas help.
If you aren't confident in bending your razor's guard until it makes contact, we suggest sending it in. Don't risk breaking your daily shaver! :) It probably just needs a Tune-Up.

You called what's holding the razors a "Magazine" but what holds bullets a "clip"..... that makes me cringe because it's not a clip!!! It's also a Magazine!!!

I wonder if a Schick injector would be allowed with carry on luggage on an airliner. Seems there's no threat of an open/loose razor blade.

Are you forced to use a Shick key or is it possible to use Kai Captain titan for exemple ?
