I gotta admit, that’s pretty awesome 😁
Great video the things you find
Thanks! 👍 As soon as I seen it I had to have it. lol
you can do the same if you get your act together and stop wasting time with useless stuff, like a teenager.
@@ProjectShopFl Relateable! There’s a certain allure to “can I?” and “how?” 😊
@@msmoorad123 when will I ever learn 🤣
That old skinny-linked chain that they loaded it with deserves a prize.
That chain looked like it was the first chain ever made. lol
honestly like wtf
What a nice christmas present Santa send you. This a really good and happy start for 2025 Derek.
Happy New Year 🎆 🎇to Derek,Steve and Oliver.
Thanks, Happy New Year.
Hi Project Shop FL & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Project Shop FL & Friends Randy
Thanks, Randy!
Nice! 3000 is the biggest one I have ripped apart. You are definitely going to want to cook that one out. Great score man!
Thanks, I hope I don't have to cook it.
What a unit on that forklift. 😂
👍👍👍
Biggest electric motor I've laid my eyes on, geesh. I've recycled 300 hp electric motors, but that thing is ridiculous ❤😊
Happy new year !
And lots of copper ! 🤑
Thanks! Happy new year!
You will get a lot of copper out of them motors. My best score was 4113 pounds of bare bright but it was only $1.00 a pound 40 years ago and that was a good price only because of how much I had. 500 MCM WIRE, I had about 2 feet of it in my garage for a month until I finally got it all stripped.
Wow! I'd cry if copper was $1 a lb. lol
@ Back then that was a great score. I enjoyed watching you got to town on that old Huge motor. Hopefully it Yields a good amount of copper . I did get a bunch of other copper from this one big job. I paid $700 bucks for the scrapping rights to all copper from this Big building . I made a total of about $6,000 on that one huge job.
@@joegilly1523 Nice!
I trained as a welder in HS, it was a HS Trade School. I’ve felt the sting of hot metal 🔥. And never would I be wearing shorts🤣. Like you said you’re all about safety in the shop 😮.
😂😂😂😂
Nice
Thanks
Dude... you should make a beam gantry with A frame legs and 4 wheels that can role right over top of your trailer.
Thanks for the suggestion
i done some motors and some generators, and you ar right... the generator have nearly the dubbel copper than the motor
Motors usually have aluminum rotors.
@@ProjectShopFl exaktly
Looks like fun with the orange gold can't wait to see the big beast give up the goodies and the total weight.
It's got some nice nuggets. 👍
That is for sure
Great content!! God Bless! Love to see you going to get some serious nuggets!
Thank you! 👍
Happy New Year enjoy every episode better than the view by far😂
Thanks! Happy New Year. 👍
cool stuff... and you do a good work with the torch 🙂
Thanks 👍
Very interesting can't wait for you to get started on the stuff going to be interesting like always my friend thanks again for posting
Thanks, it's going to be a fun one!
And there was me getting all excited about the chunky old compressor motor I just found 😂 This is pretty remarkable dude!! Next level stuff 😯👊
Thanks, I just had a compressor motor turned out to be aluminum
Great way to kick off the new year
Thanks!
holy shit them are some big things to get the copper out of cant wait too see it done thanks for sharing with us
Thanks!
That's some heavy duty scrappin'!
👍👍👍👍
I’m certainly sticking around for that 👍.
Thanks! 👍
Very interesting
This is the first time I’ve seen scrap yards resell stuff to anybody body
Thanks, I've been buying from them for a while.
Can't wait to see the followup on this one.
Thanks!
Always something to do at your work shop 😀🇳🇿
It never stops. lol
what a monster !!!
👍👍👍👍
Well Derek, i hope you are not going to regret it! I just scrapped a generator from Dow-Warner ,Miami . A pain in the ass , i won t scrap a generator with resin poured all over it . anymore.
This morning i ve thrown it in the fire , see what happens next.
Maybe you can pull those strips one by one out of the stator , when you have one out it should go easier
Wow! I'm hoping I won't have to burn it but I will if it gives too much problems.
Awesome brother looking forward to the I beam episode stay safe regards from cold England
Thanks!
I've been looking forward to the big one!
👍👍👍👍
Them forktruck drivers need to be re trained 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
You got enough supplies to keep you busy during the holidays. Great content supplies.
I had time to catch up and still did not get to half the stuff I wanted to. lol
You've got to give that cat that always shows up (16:08 in this video) a name... 'Scrap Cat'?
Sounds like a good name. lol
If anyone can do it it's you cause you take time to build the machine that will do it like the small ones you made that happen and will do the same with the bigger ones that's why we watch you nothing you can't conquer my friend enjoy watching you kick ass on the stuff you do
Thanks!
@@ProjectShopFl going to enjoy watching the videos you post about it cause you one smart man and can get it figured out thanks Derek
I think it would be more efficient if you bought the smaller ones and you can probably process them faster . Those bigger ones are gonna damage some equipment were the smaller ones may be less stressful on the equipment but i'm glad to see you're doing it.Thanks for making great videos 👍
Thanks, I want to be able to handle anything that comes my way. 👍👊
@ProjectShopFl bro we already know you're a beast 👍
Holy guacamole!!! Cant wait to hear the breakdown on that monster.
😂😂😂👍👍👍
So I take you bought that from a scrap yard to break down? Can't wait for the videos!!!
Yes!
That looks like the one I got last spring, but the strands are way thicker. Now I need to find an even bigger one lol👊
208 lbs on just 1 of the rotor coils and there are 4 of them. lol 👍
@ that’s flipping amazing so happy for you, the big stuff is where it’s at. I’m done with small stuff
I can’t wait for the copper extraction
👍👍👍
Might should look at a gooseneck flatbed. Haul more in one trip, and the tires are under the floor of trailer
Thanks for the suggestion one has been on the wish list for a while.
Epic man good to see you finding new ways to get money
Thank you! 👊
Lowe’s has the Dewalt deals going that you sometimes mention now. “Free tools” with battery purchases.
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Fun video. I really do wish I were young enough to work with you. Best wishes for a rich 2025! (and buy some gold, to hold.)
Thanks! 👍
This is awesome, but does always makes me wonder if something like this could be sold and used for other industrial motor builds or whatever, in other words i often wonder if stuff like this and also say, industrial copper wiring, if you could get more selling as is than scrap prices.
Regardless good luck brother 💪👍
Thanks, This thing was cooked and not in working condition
Thats amazing....would be kinda cool to watch you get a tube of electric motors from that yard and bust them down
Thanks! 👍
Dude,I envy you.
Got to keep hustling. 👍👊
Oh my gooooosssshhhhhh😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
👍👍👍👍
@ProjectShopFl that's crazy dude, have fun with that one! Looking forward for pt 2 brother 🙏
Looks like the one @nice junk had last springtime
Similar but this one is much bigger. his rotor coils were 57 lbs these are over 200. lol
@ProjectShopFl awesome
Now thats a beast.
👍👍👍
Nice picks!
Thanks I hope to get more.
Mega NUGGET!!!!!! Nice!
Thanks!
16:08 cat!
👍👍👍
I look forward to part 2 any idea when it’ll be posted
Thanks! 👍
There will probably never be motors this big ever manufactured in the U.S. ever again.
Sad! I believe this was a generator from the Bahamas. There was actually 4 of them I miss out on 3 of them.
Do you think that (before the corona time) might be this kind of motors/roters in the landfield? Maybe even more stuff? How does the scrapyard sell these motors/roters? As steel or...? You sell iy as steel and cobber, when you have cut it out. Did your father used to sing? Why i'mm asking is, there wass a singer here, who looks like you (big beard, same color beard etc.) He looks just like you! 🙂 He was a big siger. Very famous. It says he only got a girl, but who knows? LOL Looking forward to the next video from you!
Thanks, The motors have their own price better than steel. No My father was not a singer. lol
@@ProjectShopFl OK. Maybe you should try to sing. It could give some more income LOL 😀 I found a clip/trailer of a movie of the danish singer: th-cam.com/video/Xb2NVjzkrAI/w-d-xo.html
There is a Look a like. No offence. I love the singer. He was so great! Was a singer of the danish people!
Tooo "F"ing funny, just told my lady, I thought a had a video to watch but it was only a short. Then boom you just dropped a video! looking forward for my TShirts to arrive in CT!
Thanks, It will ship it Monday. 👍👊
@@ProjectShopFl Hell yeah!!
Hey boss..I got two questions
I got myself the jaws ..looking at pumps and wondering if double action is way to go?
Also how much do u pay for motors at the scrap yard? I watch all ur videos dude
You will definitely need double acting and I pay the yard .35
The title sounds like a challenge to me... woush
😂😂😂
You looked like a kid in a candy store, that's how I felt just watching
Yes I'm always like that at the scrap yard.
Gas power concrete saw with 14 inch blade easiest to cut end of copper off
Thanks for the suggestion
"We might as well grab some more... motors!" Load her up all the way! Get after them boys, it's copper time! "Holiday scrap party!"
👍👍👍
Hi from New Zealand, I watch alot of scrapping videos and that's the biggest one I have seen, awesome 😊. Go for it and you have a forklift, get the overhead fixed ASAP please we don't want you crushed because I will have to watch something else, don't be so Getto when it comes to that sort of weight
Thanks for the suggestion
Make no mistake this is a big one.
Wait till you see the copper I pulled out. lol
@ProjectShopFl Looking forward to it.
Nearly 5 ton on a trailer with 3500 pound axels... only scrappers would appreciate that
😂😂😂 I had 10,000 lbs of transformer set on it before and it did not like it. lol
Did that monster come off of a train or what?
It was from a power station in the islands. Originally there were 4 of them I missed them.
How much was copper recovery on the big 8900 motor? copper weight?
Just the rotor had 820 lbs I have not pulled the stator yet.
Dude you need to get the big trailer ready to go to haul these monsters
It would have been nice to haul it in 1 trip. lol
How did you ever get anything done before getting that forklift?
It was hard work but you don't need a fork lift but it sure helps.
Early gang 😎
👇🏻
👍👍👍
Welcome to you kilo copper in your court and thank you?
Thanks!
BigstackD has done some pretty big motors but I’m not sur that he’s done anything this size
I think the biggest one I've done was around 2k There is more copper in the rotor on this one than anything I've ever done.
@ I’m anxious to see how much comes out of it!
We have 2 500 hp motors at are yard there huge I'm just like is it worth trying to strip them lol
Depends on if the rotor has copper or aluminum. If they are electric motors sometimes they are aluminum. If they are generator stators usually the rotor is copper.
I noticed your inner drivers side rear tire is pretty sktech....
Thats and a lot more. lol
Sunday!Sunday!Sunday! For one night only at the NJ Meadowlands Monster Motor Madness,MMM! Seating is limited so get your tickets today. Dude Idk if you saw but there was a grey looking cat up on that trailer I’m pretty sure he was trying to get some scrap, you should go back in your cameras and see if any scrap has come up missing around the shop. I’m sure your accounting process is meticulous so probably not possible.
We have a crazy cat lady that comes every night from Miami and feeds all the stray cats. They know the sound of her car and they come out from everywhere when she comes. lol
@ 😂
This is a big job. You might need to hire some tweekers for help.
😂😂😂😂
What size torch tip do you use.
I think a #1 but I'd have to check.
I am interested
Keep those trailer bearings well greased.
😂😂😂 I will be checking the hole trailer after this project. lol
Feed the algorithm
Thanks! 👊
long time never see ur videos,,its amazing ,,big fat boy,,gets cut, keep up ur work
I appreciate it! 👊
#mocoppermomoney
👍👍👍👍
what happened to the center?
It was pulled out so I could transport it.
This is the biggest stator scrapped on TH-cam.
BigstackD. Hold my beer.
😂😂😂👍👍👍
Thats some shitty chain time for some chains
That was the scrapyards chain. lol
@ProjectShopFl wtf they need to do better lol
You need a 6K forklift.
Yes!
Spend some money on your truck get a new fender
I already have 2 new ones, new mirrors, and all brand new lights. Hopefully in the next week or 2 I can start that project.
How much did you pay for it?
$3100
@ProjectShopFl Im a scraper In Illinois and you got a great deal
How much did it weigh?
@@derickmitchell-l2o 8967 lbs
@ProjectShopFl wow 💪🏻 What was full weight of the copper after breaking it down?
So you’re buying those from the scrap yard?
Yes 👍
im estimating almost 1000lb of copper in that
@@msmoorad123 I just pulled 800 pounds out of the rotor. I haven’t even touched the stator. Lol
Dude do you ever sleep
No! lol
At almost 9,000 lbs??!!!! What did this power………
Probably a town. It came from the islands and there was 4 of them.
Part 2?????
Coming soon. 👍
WERE FROM MAINE WHERE YOU BORN
I was born in Atlantic City
My scrap yards in Florida won't sell you nothing
Some yards are like that.
Unless somebody proves you wrong, this IS THE BIGGEST on TH-cam. 0.35 cents a pound to purchase these? I think that's what you paid last time. Should be some BIG profit. Looking forward to seeing you bust these apart. LETS GO 2025.
Thanks! Yes I paid $3100 for it. lol
You have a good business plan buying penny's on the dollar. 💪🏻👍
Dude how about a gantry at the door just to lift
I would like that.
Use some gloves man lol
Thanks for the suggestion
Hello , I wonder if it's about this video for dismantling the copper strands that you are referring to. The engine was burned, it wouldn't come that easily. th-cam.com/video/vks-fnlVr1w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4UqVOOKXkCZeAlEr
No but thanks for sharing. It was in India I think.
sucks here, you can't buy anything from my yards. the chinese owner forbids it. they own them all here.
Dang! People should stop dealing with them.
