This was the MOST practical PC tip of all time! I'm playing Jedi Fallen Order on "epic" settings and my GPU is not going over averages 69-70° during gameplay! Thanks for this!
Here's few things to notice for both PC and laptop users: Laptop: - Laptops usually overheat in any scenario whether thats gaming or watching youtube (usually happens with cheap-mid laptops with a price tag up to $500, more expensive laptops tend to cool down a device a bit). - Most of laptops may not give you an option to control fan speeds, so that may be the very reason why you cannot change it in MSI afterburner as well. PC: - GPU's idle temperature should be between 30-45. Anything higher while idling is a bit of a problem and you should probably replace the thermal paste and clean the GPU a bit, remove all the dust you find in there. GPU's temperature while gaming tend to rise above 60 celcius in most cases which cause the fan to spin faster which makes it louder as well. If the temperature is above 80, consider lowering settings or putting a frame limit. That way you won't stress the GPU as much and you will increase it's lifespan. - If by any reason you gotta find a way to lower the temperature (like for crypto miners), your best bet would be lowering the core/memory clocks or lowering the voltage (i would highly recommend to unexperienced/newbies to ignore the voltage part. If you really wanna do it, maybe do a research on google first). - Aftermarket coolers/watercooling solutions tend to help a ton on GPU's, but i'd rather recommend these 2 options only to the more expensive GPUS for cooling. Buying expensive coolers/watercoolers on cheap gpus, like seriously?
@GateOP so 60 to 63° constantly is a good temp im fairly new to the pc scene and noticed my gpu fan is not spinning but my cpu fan is turned up pretty high .
@@jjjjjj9410 GPU fan maybe not turning because it didnt reach a certain temperature, so it's not required. Now, if you are saying that your gpu is at 60° (hopefully on load, since that temperature on idle isn't good) and the fan is not turning, well... it should be turning. Most GPUs fans start to spin after 45° in most cases. Now if you're saying that your CPU is reaching that temperature, its fine as long as it is in that range. If the fan noise is disturbing you, you could always clean the computer a bit, search on the internet to replace your thermal paste on the CPU (make sure theres no warranty, you could make a mistake as a newbie).
Guys make sure to look at the fans. For some reason my fans randomly went to zero when I applied the curve, card started heating up. Must have been a bug, I uninstalled then reinstalled and it worked.
Same thing happened to me. Turned out I had accidentally left the "auto" button off and the manual fan speed at 0. Also, the line before the first point seems to actually be 0%. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@MOTH_moff Yea sometimes I even forget to hit apply. Now I'm having trouble with it starting when I turn my computer on. I hit the windows key and it's outlined in red but it never starts.
And after this everyone should lower their voltages and that will lower temps a lot. Just use some benchmark software every time you lower voltages and whats when your frames start to lower lime 5 or above, then dont lower voltages anymore.
Electric dusters cause ESD and thereby giving any or all gpus EOS. (ESD = electric static discharge. EOS = Electric over shock) EOS fries your chips in a circuit board.

How do i change the color from white to another color on the MSI afterburner controller? I see that yours is on red. I have the settings to default. I’m just worried of damaging the fans. When i hear the GPU fan go faster and hear it, (Not a bad way) I’m worried about damaging it. So what should i have the settings on? I have my fans on default mode on the MSI afterburner software and I have CPU and GPU ASUS cooling fans software and controls the lights inside. Turbo mode, Balance, Windows, Manual ( CPU and GPU both fans are on Auto mode. But should I go on Balance mode or no? Turbo mode is what speeds way up the CPU fan and it’s max RPM is like 3,900 RPM. Idle speed of quietness speed is 1,600 RPM and my 2 GPU fans is like 1,200 RPM max i think. I have top intake. Bottom exhaust out on bottom of back. and it runs super quiet a lot when it’s being on 1,600 rpm idle and 1,100 something rpm is quiet too. You can’t even hear them being in idle. The big CPU fan is like a turbofan and that sounds so badass like awesome on how it sounds like a jet speeding up to lift up off ground. Then like 15 seconds or so it slows way down to its idle speed (1,600 exact. When it goes max speed it goes up to 3,900 RPM. The 1979 Cessna 182 Skyhawk plane i sometimes fly goes max 1,000 exact RPM. That’s crazy of how quiet these CPU and GPU fans can be super quiet. When I restart my desktop gaming computer, once it’s back on all the fans go full speed for like 10 or 12 or 15 Seconds long. 2 or 3 GPU Fans, 1 CPU fan. The CPU fan is what sounds like a Airbus A319 or A320 the newer engines above

my MOBO is MSI and my GPU is asus 1660 super.
Is it fine or safe to use MSI afterburner even my gpu is not a MSI brand?
I put my fan speed to 55% and it stays like that for a little bit but then just shoots back up to 100% please help
how would one go about explaining that when i try to adjust fan speed, the fan adjustment just slingshots back to 40%?
After downloading afterburner i found out my gpu was running at 90. I turned on the auto fan control plus i boosted my case fans and now im at 75. My pc might be louder, but at least i dont have to worry about it self destructing anymore lmao
is it still alive?
mine was running at 100 for some reason, I was wondering for days why it was so loud all of a sudden, then I realized i had afterburner, I set it at 70% and its so much more quieter
my user profile setting not working fan speed remain constant at the percent according to the main screen setup which is set on (Fan control) i select user profile button and disable auto mode but doesnt work
I use my pc for roblox 24/7 these days and i have applied thermal and cleaned my pc but the gpu still makes noice i have 710t how can i make it quiter
okay but my gpu doesn't have integrated cooling fans
Instructions unclear. My pc is flying and probably going to attack the city
I don't know how to setup the app, there's not like u in my laptop, there is just run stress test, benchmark, and CPU burner, what should I do?
My gpu is mounted vertically and the tempered glass in my pc case gets super hot.
gonna try that .. got annoying fps drop in league of legends i tried every suggestions and didn't work ... i noticed that my graphic card fan is stopped working i pulled it out and found allot of dust that prevent the fan from working ... i clean it well and the fan worked again ... but i think its back somehow weak! coz that fps drop still there

I saw something at your graphic card similiar with my. I have RX 580 XFX 8gb 256 biti and frome when i start windows until i shot it down the MEM Gpu it's all the time at 2000 MHz. NON-STOP. I saw this to your card. It's that normal? Or what's the problem?
no point of changing the fan speed..
you gonna damage the fans faster if you put it too high..
im a huge noob alright , so is there a video about this with the new msi interface ? like an update ? :)
