Thanks for this.... I was losing sleep over an issue with my laptop throttling at lower Temps with an external monitor attached.
I had spent hours pouring through old posts on stuttering that were no help. I finally noticed what was going on but I had no Idea how to undervolt.
You made it easy and your voice is very calming haha thanks a bunch man.

I know this is an old video but thank you for the concise and simple explanation of how to undervolt an Nvidia GPU. I just managed to get my 3070 temps down from 85 degrees celcius to 74 with a simply by reducing the voltage from 1050 to 975. And surprisingly the clockspeed improved as well! From 1875 to 1920. Makes me wonder how they determined the voltage and clock speeds to begin with on this Gigabyte card.

I tried maxing out all my settings in a game to get to the point of "throttling" but there's no cap on the graphs, the graphs are in the shapes of waves/cliffs, do i need to do more before trying this?

Hi, a quick question: you can press 1-5 for the profiles on the keypad... is there a shortcut for "apply" as well? i want to put these on a macro keypad. Thanks.

Great video. Haven't done too much testing, but initial results on a 3060Ti Founders Edition are:
    STOCK - 0.95V, 198W, 78C, Unigine score 6712 (performed cold)
    Undervolt - 0.875V, 165W, 75c, Unigine score 6609 (-1.5%)
I lost 1.5% performance (negligible) for a -16.6% decrease in wattage.
At the new rate of £0.52p/kWh, saving 33W of energy X 4 hours a day X 365 days per year = £25/yearly savings.
Plus, hopefully a marginally cooler and quieter and longer lasting card. Happy days.

I also prefer using MSI afterburner, a neat trick I find is to spend a bit of time after installation in opening up the monitoring graph window, removing the relatively useless graph trails ( FB, BUS, VID & Memory usage etc) leaving just the essential ones (which I feel to be GPU temp, usage, power & fan speed maybe including the same for the CPU graphs) and then the neat part.... right click on the "GPU usage" graph and select "attach" from the context menu, then left click on the "GPU Temp" graph... this overlays the 2 graphs, then right click on "Fan speed" > "attach" > left click on the "GPU usage / temp" graph, that overlays the "fan speed" graph on top of the other two. You can then set diffeent colours for each overlaid graph, say red for "temp", green for "usage" and blue for "fan speed".
Using that general pricinple you can configure the graphs any way you like, and it makes the monitoring of the various speeds, levels and temps SO much more easy to follow... hope this helps.

Super thanks! 800mv @ 1750mhz is stable for my Asus Aero ITX 3060! With just 1 fan on this crazy small GPU, I am happy! Running Cyberpunk at 4K, ultra settings, DLSS max performance and I am getting 50-65 FPS. You heard that right 4K Ultra! Running at 60-65 degrees Celsius and pulling only 100W!!!! What more could I ask for? Oh, this is on my 4 YEAR OLD CPU i5-8400...…. I am satisfied, super satisfied!!!!! THANK YOU! Subscribed!

Honestly I find it to be very confusing. If Y axis represents frequency and X axis is voltage, I would think that ,by flattening the line how you did, you're just capping frequencies to ~1950mh with no change to voltage whatsoever.
To cap voltage you would think it's necessary to move each point (after a certain voltage) along X axis to the same spot. I may be wrong I don't know how it works but I'm only referring to a logic point of view.

hi, I am unable to edit the voltage curve what could I be doing wrong.
do you think its good for the longevity of the card to keep the fan spiniing even when temps are in the low 30 degrees ?

I've tried this following 3-4 different tutorials now, using MSI afterburner and FurMark to stress test the GPU and NOTHING I change gets the temperature to go below 80 degrees. Followed your instructions to the letter. No change in temp and the fans are SO loud non stop.

Saw a bunch of videos about undervolting, this is the first one that actually helped me properly understand what to do and how to get results. Dropped my 3080 TI from .85v to .75v while keeping mostly the same boost clocks, thing now pulls ~50 less watts and gives me a lot more peace of mind with my SFF build. Much appreciated.

    I have only One question:
In msi afterburner you can set gpu power limit from 100% to 95 or 90 and that limit your power of gpu, before i was on 200 wat after on 167 and that help me with temperature, and dont eat too much my fps. Sow why i need to set al this option when i can just set power limit??
You dont need to do all this stuff just set power limit on 95 % . Or i miss somthing??

    Wow !
    I have a RTX4080 (MSI Suprim X) and went from :
    2910Mhz
    1.075mV
    320W Powerdraw
~ 73C at max Load with Furmark
    to:
    3000Mhz
    1.020mV
    240W Powerdraw
~51C at max Load with Furmark
I also increased Memory Clock by 1000 Mhz and can see a 8-10% performance increase while reducing power draw and temps.
Thanks a lot for this easy guide !!!
