@@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews did you got the mount from Amazon or an auto parts store? I need to switch that same mount you just did. It’s very annoying!
@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews Great video. Would you be able to help me find the torque specs for a 2013 2.0L for the same mount you installed? Passenger side mount. Thanks!
Well done! I have Liked and Subscribed, something that I rarely do. Very clear and concise, with a total lack of irritating background music! You saved me around $400 by enabling me to (easily) repair the car myself. I particularly liked your inclusion of bolt head sizes and torque specs.
These step are very similar for the 2.0T Version. The mount is slightly different but I was able to change ours without removing even the underpan. I just moved the plastic engine cover and coolant reservoir and just used different extensions to get access to the bolts. I managed to call the threads on the body side and after much swearing I was able to retap and thread in a replacement bolt from the dealership. It was $4 USD for 2 bolts but saved so much frustration. The Tap is M12x1.75 if you're wondering.
Thanks! You know, it could be a number of things really. I have a decent leak on ours as well. Is it leaking significantly? Or just a drip here or there? Are you having to add oil frequently?
Hey! I can only demo a 1.6L as that's what I have in our garage, but I can see what may be different on a 2.0L and make a note with some screenshots. Concepts should be the exact same whether it's the 1.6L, 2.0L, or 2.5L (non turbo). Do you have any questions in specific you'd like to see answered while we make it?
It really did make such a difference on our Escape! Wondering if I had done all 3 if it had turned out as smooth as your Focus sounded but yeah good luck! Hope it goes well!
Are you planning on doing the Trans Mount or the Torque Strut mount ? I had the dealer replace the same mount in this video (under Ford ESP) but I still get a slight vibration when I am on Drive at a Stop Light, it does feel smoother though with the updated mount..
No not at the moment- I have a video I told somebody I'd help with for a door latch and the improvement is enough for me right now- would love the peace of mind of knowing all 3 are changed though so maybe within the next year
Failure :/ Ended up getting the transmission replaced with a reman transmission with some updated parts vs pulling one from an existing vehicle or going to the dealer.
