    You have the torque specs backwards on the right side engine mount. It's 66 ft/lbs to the frame, 59 to the engine. Excellent video very helpful, only video I've seen that does all three. Much appreciated.

    Great video. best I found. Just a tip: you can pull the air box as a unit without disassembling it. You were very detailed so noticed you didn't show or mention reattaching and tightening the air duct to the air box at the MAS sensor - I mention that because I forgot to re tighten the screw once. Wasn't a big deal because it was such a tight fit to start but didn't find it loose until I had to take it off again.

    Nice & thorough tutorial, thanks!! I'll be changing out the upper passenger side mount on my 2012 Ford Focus Titanium hatchback w/ 5-speed manual as soon as the part comes in (CV6Z-6038-C). I am currently at 120,000 miles & just noticed today that it was past it when I was taking out the MAF & throttle body for cleaning. I was wondering why, lately, she had been feeling rough!!

    Thank you, great video with lots of useful information. I just got a 3013 Escape with the 2.0 EcoBoost and I'm familiarizing myself with everything it might need. Since the Escape is so heavily based on the Focus, a lot of the information you shared directly applies. I do have one question one comment.
    The question is regarding the bracket that you removed with the torque/transmission mount at about 2:30 in the video. It contains a rubber bushing where the torque/transmission mount bolts to it. In mine this rubber bushing has severely degraded, it looks like due to oil saturation from a transmission leak at the driver's side CV shaft seal. Do you know if that bushing fails often or if it is replaceable separately from the bracket?
    The comment is that on some of the chat boards people are saying that the OEM CV6Z-6068-A Transmission Mount (also used on the Escape) is not a great design, and that the equivalent part from the Focus ST (CM5Z-6068-A) is supposed to be sturdier but does slightly increase "road feel". I haven't tried it (I am considering doing so), but it seems like a decent number of other Escape owners are saying that it's a good upgrade.

    Thanks for the video but I don't recall seeing where to place the floor jack for the different mounts. Do you have another video that shows that? The dog bone mount and the driver's side mount are not showing as available from some ford parts dealer on-line. I will be doing all 3 of mine.

    With the battery removal for the left mount, do you have to do anything with the electrics regarding radio codes or anything resetting in the ECU?

    Thanks for the video 👍. I've got Focus 2014 manual. As I was told, I have to change one of the motor mounts. From my point of view, it doesn't affect vibration on my car. Is it necessary to change it? Will it damage anything more, if I don't change it?

  • @besweettotawness720
    @besweettotawness720 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Since the video describes the potentially trickiest part--->i.e. removing the rusted battery box 10 mm bolt, (mine severely rusted also), here's one option for anyone concerning these battery acid rusted bolts and preventing bolt strippings Use your PB Blaster, put on your Earmuffs, and tap that flat washer and break the rust fusing the bolts and washers together. Don't just grab your 10 mm and try to loosen it. I know what you may be thinking--"this is a mere small wimpy-assed 10mm bolt--its not gonna give me trouble..." However, Since the WASHER rust build up in my case prevented the socket from even grasping the bolt properly, (and likewise risk stripping the bolt) it was necessary to chissel chunks of rust off of the washer also FIRST. Don't chissel on the bolt ofcourse. Be patient here. It took some time to expose the entire bolt heads again. Any extra tapping only helps that PB Blaster penetrate more anyways. Thanks HowTo for the battery box warning! I owe you a deli sammich. You saved me hundreds and headaches.

    I want to do this to my 2016 1L focus, as it's vibrating, engine is turning around when shifting to reverse and every bumb makes a metallic sound somewhere in the bottom. My money is on the torque mount..
    But do I have to support the engine with something like a tall pole or something while I remove the old mount? Every other video I've seen says you ned to but here you just rip it out and the engine is just fine

  • @athenov9702

    My engine is starting to shake. Decided to do a quick inspection on which mount it could be. And found that the torque mount has a gap between it and the frame. Tried adjusting my jack points in hopes that I can close the gap and tighten it back up but it won't change. Could it be that or something else? I'm hoping not to have to buy and replace all three mounts.
