New Balance SuperComp Elite 3 and SuperComp Trainer V2 are both carbon plated and both can be ordered in 2E width so your claim that there are no carbon plated running shoes in 2E is false, both can also be used for marathon race. I have SC Trainer V2 in 2E and I am very satisfied with them, great shoes.
Yeah new balance tends to be the only company consistently offering 2E and 4E in alot of their popular/newer models. I’m not a wide footer but their standard widths is roomy which I don’t mind.
I have the SC Elite V3 and absolute love it. Prior to this I was racing in the vaporfly and enjoyed it, then the alphafly and got injury after injury. It got really bad and I couldn't get through a half marathon without ALOT of pain in my feet and lower legs. From there i said F that and did research for a comfortable race day shoe and the SC Elites have been amazing for that. I remember crossing the finish line in my alphaflys and IMMEDIATELY wanting to toss the shoes off of my feet.
glad to hear the sc elites are working for you! and hahaha i have heard so many horror stories about the alphaflys and foot pain - and then some people swear by them!
Great analysis. Sadly lots of models here don't come in wide outside of the US/Canada but there's hope for the future! I'm pretty excited for the 1080v13s as well which should come in a 'true' 4E.
Wide: 2E, Extra wide: 4E This applies to every major shoe brand. Very often, 2E is an increase in upper volume only and 4E is when the base of the shoe widens as well. Saucony shoes are nice but they only have the Echelon in 4E. All other wide shoes are 2E 😢
I kinda wish companies like vibram five fingers made a more cushioned ride as well. For example, they have the v runs with like 5.5mm stack height, but nothing thicker they just stay in that barefoot realm. Altras are great for this reason, but they don't make stuff that's very speed oriented from my experience, and lots of their shoes are 2e instead of 4e 😢
I got myself the Adizero SL's 3 days ago and did 1 run in them so far. Way too early to judge, but definitely is hard compared to my 1080s. Looking forward to breaking them in 👍.
They tend to stay on the firmer side. Now I don’t have tons of miles but I’m 6’2 192-195lbs so usually lightstrike softens for me within 15miles. But Boston 10 took me more like 50+ so SL might be the same. I haven’t gotten to 50 in the SLs yet.
I just starting my running journey my first pair of running shoes are the Saucony Guide 17. I like them I think I’m going to stick with Saucony brand plus I have wide feet.
Boston 12 is decently wide and roomy - Adizero SL is pretty narrow. If you have an adidas outlet near you, you should be able to try these on. REI usually has them as well or if you need to order online to try you can do running warehouse - they have a 90 day return policy (even if you run in it)
@@supwell I actually live in Thailand and haven't had the luxury of trying shoes on for many years. They only stock up to US 12. Thanks for getting back to me, this is very helpful! I've had a nightmare trying to find good fitting shoes for a while now. I have liked and subscribed and will continue to support 🙏
@@MWsamui I have very wide feet at the toes, the corners of the forefoot section only started to tear after about 600-700 km. highly recommended for daily training. Only problem I had was putting on the shoe, sometimes I had to force it in. Once I stepped too hard on the heel support which has a metallic wire, my weight crushed it so it started piercing the back of my heel. It was quite easy to fix just squeeze it with some pliers.
I love the boston, even my hammer toe fits in this shoe (mens standard width version for my lady feet, this has a bit more volume in the forefoot and I could pick all the good colours;)
the adidas boston 12 retails for $160. it goes on sale sometimes tho so you can sometimes find it for less than that. here's my link to it tinyurl.com/52cusztn
No Topo or Altra in this selection? Topo Cyclone 2 is a banger comparable to the Endorphin Speed 3 and much wider. For race day the Altra Vanish Carbon is no slouch, and the most confortable wide carbon shoe in the market. The wide versions of thin Saucony and Adidas are not that wide, the only really wide Brand in your selection is New Balance.
I hate all these super cushion shoes. I think they make your feet weaker. You know something is suspicious when EVERY company is making big cushion shoes. I'll go with barefoot shoes until this big cushion era is over.

thanks for the clarification! yes you're right sc elite comes in wide - pinning your comment so people can see

Can confirm the SC Elite is great for wide foot runners. I’m a much heavier, 2E and wore this for the Sydney Marathon. Feet felt great.
in 2e size or just one size more?
Personally just half sized up
I’m looking for wide toe because my toes do not work on my left foot and end up rubbing together but my feet are not wide..
Altra or Topo will serve you well
Wide: 2E, Extra wide: 4E

Can you highlight some short distance race day wide shoes, if there are any? 😢

@@JeremyGiese yeah most videos said 50 miles.
I have a wide midfoot and Boston 12 doesn't work for me.
I felt the same. Guess he dont have wide feet :/
Boston 12 is not wide shoes same problem doesn’t work
I just starting my running journey my first pair of running shoes are the Saucony Guide 17. I like them I think I’m going to stick with Saucony brand plus I have wide feet.
Well, I got it half right. I can attest to the Speed 3 (looking forward to the Speed 4 next spring) & the SC Elite.
Should I be looking for a wide fit model of the Adizero Boston or the Adizero SL or are the standard models already quite wide?

Altra Escalante?
I cannot get the boston 12 in feet.
Superblast is very ok for wide feet.
Hoka and Nike are generally crap for me. Way too narrow
Whats the prices for the green ones? Adidas

When you reference these in the video are you talking about the standard width or should I be looking for an extra wide version?@@supwell
2 shoes that i actually did not get my foot in; Adidas Adizero adios Pro 3 and Nike Vaporfly v2.
(Favorite shoe; Adidas Prime X V1)
Love the Adios Pro 3 for my wide-toebox needs. It feels wider than it is. Many other shoes feels narrower than they are up there, no clue why.
Thank you!
wide foot Tempo: Topo Cyclone 2 by a margin for me
The saucony edorphin speed 3 is pretty wide

Hykes Ultra Sport super light and wide toe box
Still waiting for a video on under armour shoes
their new marathon racer is coming soon! yes i owe you a video :) i'll get a video out on under armour this month
SC Elite comes in wide.
I have flat feet also

Novablast 4 is too tight in the mid foot… definitely not a wide shoe, but if you meant NB3 2E then maybe
Yes I made this video before the novablast 4 came out - was referencing the wide version of the 3
Novablast is definitely not for wide feet. Very narrow in the centre mid sole. 🚫👟 #narrowfeet #notforwidefeet
Boston 12 isn't wide
But there is a wide option available.
Nah bro, I've used most of these shoes, it's horrible.
Altra is really good.
Novablast is not wide shoe
They actually do sell the Novablast in wide on the ASICS website!
theres wide options bro
Yes it is true 👍
Lol Adidas have Wide fit 😂
dude says to avoid saucony and adidas at the beginning and then all but 2 shoes he recommends are saucony and adidas. what a joke
The standard widths in those brands tend to be very narrow - the ones I recommended come in a dedicated wide version (2E or 4E)
