I have often thought, as I watched Angelina perform, that I felt like a proud Papa, and this seems to be a like sense for you. For years, I have tried to articulate exactly what there is about Angelina, that makes me feel the way I do. The closest that I can come to defining it is that it is spiritual. Rather ambiguous but I really can't do better than this. Oh, how I wish that you would do more reactions to her. You truly are a blessing to this fan.

Yesterday I learned a new term from the new Angelina reactors Jared and Jordan. It is " duende"
Ik searched on Wikipedia.
Duende or tener duende ("to have duende") is a Spanish term for a heightened state of emotion, expression and authenticity, often connected with flamenco.[1] The term derives from "duen de casa" (master of the house), which similarly inspired the duende of folklore.
In Wikipedia there is more explanation from wich I think that are fitting words to what Angelina is doing while she is singing and what is does to us listeners.

You said it exactly. Angelina Jordan is as real as it gets. There is nothing "extra". It's just her and the song. She dives inside the song in her own head, and invites us along for the ride. No matter how many incredible performances I see her do, it never stops surprising me just how good she is. I mean this is a 15 year old singing a song from one of the most successful vocalists of current times, and somehow managing to make improvements on it with her own special flavors. This is a true artist in every sense of the word.

If you realize that Adele, being a non-jazz singer, isn't able to match the
soul piercing penetration that a true jazz singer like Angelina is able to do.
Then , take into account that Angelina is a 'vocal chameleon, able to emulate
other singers voices. In this cover, she displays the essence of Adele, but what
is truly remarkable is that she also incorporates the 'breathy' releases that she
learned from Billie Holiday, as well as the 'raw' inflections like 'slurring' certain
words and radically changing 'key' in mid-sentence which Amy Winehouse was
known for. Add in Angelina's personal dynamics and you get a '4 pronged' attack
to the senses that make you feel you've heard 4 specific, world famous singers
in one presentation. Have never heard another singer being able to do something
so beautifully complex. She is, without a doubt, the most versatile singer of
multiple genres that I have ever heard, as well.

@@lydiabentley3413 yeah he is right in a lot of ways, but this is more of an Adele plus more flavor. Obvious influences are fine to point out but nobody can match Adele in quality while adding more too it. Well one person who was only 15 can. Every time you listen to this you catch a bit more in her runs, that happens a lot with someone this insanely good, but I'm not sure this isn't the best performance yet. Maybe a bit mainstream sounding for some, like her 'million miles'. But given age I swear she has the 5 most impressive vocal performances I've ever seen. Being ' i put a spell on you ' at 9, ' feeling good ' at 10, ' I'd rather go blind ' at almost 13, 'million miles' at nearly 15, and this one at 15. A tonne of variety in those choices, mostly so different. The point where we stop comparing and noting influences, which could detract from the credit she deserves, has come and gone. Everyone has influences and no one is this good. But at the same time people new to her will always think of influences they are picking up on, and as long as she still wants this going forward nothing will stop her from piercing the defenses of every human heart.

I think you captured Angelina Jordan's stage presence perfectly, no one has said it better. As you said, her integrity, soulfulness, authenticity, and openness trigger parental pride and even protection in viewers/listeners. Even in non-parents. She is a symbol of humanity's highest and best qualities, that as parents we want to instill in our children and hope that they live by. It's a huge responsibility for any human being to live up to. I hope she does not feel this pressure. She doesn't appear to, it seems to be effortless for Angelina Jordan. I pray it is, and that she continues to live in alignment with her soul.

Angelina is our barefoot princes with the Mona Lisa smile. She is the unequivocal queen of jazz. Yes, there are a great many remarkably talented young female vocalists, but Angelina is in her own lane. None of the other artists I have heard have Angelina’s vocal dexterity, versatility and her lower register. Angelina is single handedly raising the jazz genre from the ashes and back to prominence where it belongs. She is also introducing jazz to the younger generation, especially to those who have never listened to jazz before. The world needs ANGELina in it.

Jana, you're so spot-on; that unspoken quality you're searching for is empathy. She is an Empath, which is much deeper than mere sympathy. This isn't pretense; it's the real deal. Not only does she convey the meaning and emotion of songs better than most singers, but she also does it with songs about things she hasn't yet experienced. Besides that, she has mastery over her voice, rarely seen at any age. And, nearly all of her covers are better than the original.

One way to measure confidence is just watching a singer at the top of her game. There is absolutely no hesitation, no constriction in her voice. She sings from her heart, and the musicality flows out so easily through all her vocal dynamics: belting, whispering, vocal fries, head voice, killer vibrato, chest voice-all enhanced by endless vocal textures that we don’t get even from great singers like Adele. Angelina has been hitting on all cylinders for many years. You have missed a lot.

Others have said it, but it's important to make sure you understand, you're right that it wasn't a good reaction. It was a great reaction. There are plenty of examples of people who don't talk much during the performance and give crappy reactions. There's also plenty of people who talk plenty during the performance and I don't care to hear a word of it. You actually reacted, from the instant sound started coming out of Angelina's mouth we knew what you were feeling. We were able to watch the emotions (pride, awe, wonder) in your face and your body language and it was glorious. Your reaction to Angelina Jordan's Bohemian Rhapsody has some of my favorite original commentary as well. Don't leave us hanging for another year!!

Angelina’s voice and her total being is like an ocean wave or soft summer breeze that takes you in and rushes you to places you have rarely experienced. Your heart rate increases, you find it difficult to catch your breath, chills and shells engulf you. You are now addicted to Angelina Jordan the finest story telling vocalist I have ever experienced.
With a artist like Angelina, words are not needed to understand her magic, just s pair of ears will let you know everything you need🥰 Angelina to me is the most soulful artist on the planet. Yes exactly. Angelina "sells" the song far better than any other singer. As you noted, hard to say exactly how she does it, nothing obvious. Maybe just hardcore authenticity. She honestly believes every lyric she sings, not sure just how she gets that across.

is it only me, but this lyric of her chosen song is the first, I believe, where she may be singing about HER own life -- " I had no time to choose what I chose to do - so, go easy on me" ..... DAMN, because she was literally born to do what she does ..... & we're all blessed by her burden
She does it all with her voice - it's like she makes all the gesture and body language of a stage actor audible - and it hits us harder than being at the theater, because we can't escape - even if we close our eyes, or try to look away, she just keeps on gently squeezing our hearts with that warm and rich voice of hers. And when the song is over, we need a minute of total silence so we can readjust our heartbeats, our breathing and everything else, to what we consider _normal_ - but we will never be the same again, because we've been touched by another persons soul, and the experience has made us warmer inside.
this is the perfect explanation of what she does. I'm a metal guy but like many other genres to some degree. Angelina had me from the first time I heard her voice.

I totally agree with you; however, we have to remember that Adele did write the lyrics and the music. AJ needs original material and she's doing that with 'A Million Miles Apart'. She can sing the phone book and it would sound good.
I am so used to seeing Angelina and being blown away again and again. So, this time I thought, "Oh, of course, another great performance it will be." But I was not ready for this. Tears in my eyes I say, "Thank you Angelina." --- Elvis had everything and he was incredible. To carry on with what you said about Angelina's presences, I say she goes beyond the King when it comes to that.

Her voice sooths the soul in the darkest times and gives hope that there is truly light at the end of the tunnel. I play in a death metal band and go for the extreme, but I can't help coming back to Angelina in a daily basis. Music does truly heal the soul!

Yes…she does the hardest thing so easily…just gets up there with no flashy lights or dancers and just sings the song. That’s all that’s needed. And you can count the singers that can do that on one hand. The thing that amazes me is that with each different song she is in a different world in terms of interpretation. She sings Houston or Holiday, Eva Cassidy or Dolly or whomever else and she’s like a melding of that person and herself. Is that like channeling? A thing of beauty and a joy forever.

I really like the word "genuine" when thinking of Angelina. She is this sweet caring person who has grown up before our eyes so of course many fans rightly feel like surrogate parents. But like her mother Sara, we recognize she is a gift to the world. I was always fascinated by the shot of Sara tearing up while listening to her daughter sing Gloomy Sunday on NGT. Surely she must have heard Angelina sing that many times. Then l read in an interview that it was the moment she knew she must share this sweet and loving little girl with the world. There are three singers that have come to light in recent years who’s talents seem virtually supernatural. Those three are Jackie Evancho, Lucy Thomas and Angelina Jordan. I love all three dearly, but it’s Angelina’s voice that moves me so deeply that I cry virtually every time I hear her. Show you how much just being real, communicates so much more strongly that flashiness, or fake emotion. She feels and owns the song, and draws us in so we feel it too. I think her appeal has a lot to do with how much she internalizes the song, tranforms it, makes it her own, and just enjoys communicating with the audience what she has found in the song that resonates with her, and thus it resonates with us as well And I don't think she needed a coach, althought I'm sure your coaching really helps, but I think with her she is just being herself when she performs.
I think you would really appreciate seeing Angelina from the beginning.......when she won Norway's Got Talent ( turned eight years old during the competion). She had this same calm stage presence from day one. Yes, born to sing !

Thanks for coming back to Angelina. And yes, she somehow makes us all feel like that..as proud aunts or uncles at least. What Angelina does is, I think, in some sense incongruent. She is simultaneously incredibly intense but vulnerable, while at the same time exuding extreme confidence and calm. This allows us as listeners to relax and open wide our emotional door (usually closed and locked) to her because we know that Angelina will not abuse her presence there but will deliver a pure and heartfelt experience (not just a sound but more..somehow more). Please consider reacting to her originals "Million Miles" and "7th Heaven" and her covers of "All I Ask" (another Adele), "Billie Jean" (Michael Jackson), and "Yesterday" (Beatles). Also, I know you would enjoy going back and looking at her extraordinary Norway's Got Talent performances when she was 7/8yo. They take the definition of stage presence to a different level. I almost think that you need to watch them as part of professional development.

No matter what song she sings her voice goes right thru your soul. She is the real deal. Talented beyond comprehension beautiful and humble. Since seeing that sweet little girl at 7 years old till now her voice makes your soul happy.

I completely agree with you! It is incredibly difficult to react to Angelina's singing.... More precisely, it is easy to react, but it is not possible and it is not necessary to take apart her singing, as many others do... Angelina is MUSIC! She was told this by the jury of the Novegia project looking for talents at the age of 7! That is why her singing should be enjoyed ... and of course, enjoy your reaction to it.
