So she had JUST turned 12 here, despite it saying age 13 in the video description. I just thought I'd let you know that, as it would have been crazy enough at age 13 😂😉 Angelina is in a league of her own. She always has been and she always will be. Angelina is a very rare combination of a humble person who has confidence in her abilities. She did it as a very young child, and now as a young woman. Blues, jazz, 1960’s soul, ballads, r&b, and more-all done to perfection with her own arrangements and unique vocals.

In past comments, some people who may be more knowledgeable claim the audio was recorded at age 12 but is dubbed over the video at age 13. Maybe the backward mic is her way of quietly saying this is not the original video.
@@dojoswitzerAs far as I understand Boris' comments on this (including the reply he gave you three month ago), it's the other way round: The video was taken in early April 2018, and Boris believes that that's right on the day when she got it. so contrary to what many fans believe that's actually a few month after her 12th birthday, as she posted unboxing pictures on April 4th 2018. She posted pictures in the same outfit on May 12th 2018, but those were likely a few weeks old. But Boris also believes that the audio was later recorded in two takes and dubbed onto the video.

@sulatlalaki It used to be my understanding that singing while being seated could lessen the breath support by up to 35% and, therefore, was more difficult. I then came across a piece extolling the virtues of singing in a prone position! Finally, someone mentioned that players of big brass instruments (tuba, baritone, French horn, etc.) are almost always seated when they perform. And those instruments require a lot of HARD breathwork. So I'm of the position now, that the singer's position doesn't really matter! It's whatever one can or can't do with their body and everyone is different.

I have an analog high end 2 channel stereo with Focal speakers, so it's not really fair to join the two😊 as it's like watching people try and figure out if the meteor is heading straight towards them😂

What is she 12 here, 13? She wanted this to be very relaxed, so much so that she recorded it and then she lip synched it on the couch. That mic, which she loves, is backwards. There is no way you can sing into that mic backwards. I love this rendition. And that one phrase, whoa, how long is it? And power right up to the end. And yes, she's humble. Watch her interview before her astounding arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT. And she's a good person. I'm sure she's barefoot in this video, keeping her promise to an Iranian street girl (who she probably spoke to in Farsi at 6) to never wear shoes while performing to remind us that there are children in need. She said that when she gave the girl her beloved green boots, it opened a door in her heart and it was like a stairway to heaven. Amen.

As far as Angelina being humble, she gives me the sense that what the Hindus say about being enlightened and that is (and I paraphrase here), 'that liberated soul does not try to possess the fruit of their actions but rather leaves that to its rightful owner - God.'

There are two performances I would absolutely love to see your reaction to. The first is Gary Moore’s last recorded rendition of Parisienne Walkways Live at Montreux in 2010. He sadly passed away on holiday in February 2011 and it was as if he left his finest performance for last. The other song is 16 years old (at that time) Lucy Thomas covering Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’. It is simply the most beautiful thing I believe that I have heard in my 70+ years. Yup, the warmth and feeling of personally singing to us is what captivated us and keeps us angels going. Many of her new songs are "power" instead of "warmth", and so she's losing her fanbase as you can see by the lower views on her new commercial-like songs. Hopefully she'll hit the right chord with young people and grew a new fan base but I feel she needs to return to the warmth of many of her old covers like this in order to keep her entire fan base captivated.
"She's losing her fanbase" is a bit of an exaggeration. Losing a few of her fans, maybe. But I know MANY in her fanbase that have been there for years, and continue to be as she grows, experiments, and reaches out to the rest of the world. By the way - have you seen the recording of her live concert performance of Unchained Melody? It is stunning - warmth and beauty personified in an amazing artist. I wouldn't give up on her just yet, if I were you.

Yes it works but it doesn't draw the level of fanbase that she's going to need. Anyway these comments paces are for us to express our opinions, and I expressed mine, so I'm not going to rebut or apologize I'm just going to say hey it's food for thought. For example, I think she would do well to also make hauntingly beautiful songs like she's done with several covers.

Yes, she portrays warmth while delivering power. As far as being humble, absolutely. I had the feeing based on her interviews that she was a humble person. When I attended her concerts in Norway last year and listened to her comments between songs and watched listened to her interact with the fans, I was convinced she is. Then when, I met and talked with her, there was no doubt. I can tell you she’s the most humble person I’ve had the pleasure to meet.
I can't tell you which performance she did on AGT, but I DO remember watching a video where Simon Cowell followed her backstage and commented, "I don't think you know just how good you really are!" His comment spoke VOLUMES about Angelina's humbleness. 💕
much I think you're quite mistaken: Simon's comment spoke nothing about Angelina's humility. She has known just how good she is since a much earlier age. Yet, not only does she never flaunt it, she never brings any kind of attention to her gifts. In that regard, as well as in all of her music, she is the epitome of restraint. In past comments, some people who may be more knowledgeable claim the audio was recorded at age 12 but is dubbed over the video at age 13. Maybe the backward mic is her way of quietly saying this is not the original video.
@@dojoswitzerAs far as I understand Boris' comments on this (including the reply he gave you three month ago), it's the other way round: The video was taken in early April 2018, and Boris believes that that's right on the day when she got it. so contrary to what many fans believe that's actually a few month after her 12th birthday, as she posted unboxing pictures on April 4th 2018. She posted pictures in the same outfit on May 12th 2018, but those were likely a few weeks old. But Boris also believes that the audio was later recorded in two takes and dubbed onto the video.

@sulatlalaki It used to be my understanding that singing while being seated could lessen the breath support by up to 35% and, therefore, was more difficult. I then came across a piece extolling the virtues of singing in a prone position! Finally, someone mentioned that players of big brass instruments (tuba, baritone, French horn, etc.) are almost always seated when they perform. And those instruments require a lot of HARD breathwork. So I'm of the position now, that the singer's position doesn't really matter! It's whatever one can or can't do with their body and everyone is different.

I have an analog high end 2 channel stereo with Focal speakers, so it's not really fair to join the two😊 as it's like watching people try and figure out if the meteor is heading straight towards them😂

What is she 12 here, 13? She wanted this to be very relaxed, so much so that she recorded it and then she lip synched it on the couch. That mic, which she loves, is backwards. There is no way you can sing into that mic backwards. I love this rendition. And that one phrase, whoa, how long is it? And power right up to the end. And yes, she's humble. Watch her interview before her astounding arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT. And she's a good person. I'm sure she's barefoot in this video, keeping her promise to an Iranian street girl (who she probably spoke to in Farsi at 6) to never wear shoes while performing to remind us that there are children in need. She said that when she gave the girl her beloved green boots, it opened a door in her heart and it was like a stairway to heaven. Amen.
Angelina is so soft spoken and so humble. It’s absolutely incredible. She seems like a very very sweet young lady. No one does it like you. When I see that you are reacting to another Angelina song, it's almost like opening a present at Christmas. As far as Angelina being humble, she gives me the sense that what the Hindus say about being enlightened and that is (and I paraphrase here), 'that liberated soul does not try to possess the fruit of their actions but rather leaves that to its rightful owner - God.'

I have only just discovered your channel and have instantly subscribed. Your reactions are so natural and insightful and I love how you totally respect the artists by not pausing the video. There are two performances I would absolutely love to see your reaction to. The first is Gary Moore’s last recorded rendition of Parisienne Walkways Live at Montreux in 2010. He sadly passed away on holiday in February 2011 and it was as if he left his finest performance for last. The other song is 16 years old (at that time) Lucy Thomas covering Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’. It is simply the most beautiful thing I believe that I have heard in my 70+ years. Yup, the warmth and feeling of personally singing to us is what captivated us and keeps us angels going. Many of her new songs are "power" instead of "warmth", and so she's losing her fanbase as you can see by the lower views on her new commercial-like songs. Hopefully she'll hit the right chord with young people and grew a new fan base but I feel she needs to return to the warmth of many of her old covers like this in order to keep her entire fan base captivated.
"She's losing her fanbase" is a bit of an exaggeration. Losing a few of her fans, maybe. But I know MANY in her fanbase that have been there for years, and continue to be as she grows, experiments, and reaches out to the rest of the world. By the way - have you seen the recording of her live concert performance of Unchained Melody? It is stunning - warmth and beauty personified in an amazing artist. I wouldn't give up on her just yet, if I were you.
@@SteveAckerman-ly3qg I understand your perspective, and I'm not giving up on her, I just worry for her future and think that she will benefit from making songs in multiple genres as opposed to trying to place multiple genres into a short few songs. Yes it works but it doesn't draw the level of fanbase that she's going to need. Anyway these comments paces are for us to express our opinions, and I expressed mine, so I'm not going to rebut or apologize I'm just going to say hey it's food for thought. For example, I think she would do well to also make hauntingly beautiful songs like she's done with several covers.
Understood! My dream is in between her new albums which may come out every couple of years, that she do some genre-specific entire albums, of mostly covers. Angelina | Soul. Angelina Sings the Blues. Angelina sings Jazz (that could be a multi-album set!). Angelina Rocks. There likely are others, she is so versatile.

Yes, she portrays warmth while delivering power. As far as being humble, absolutely. I had the feeing based on her interviews that she was a humble person. When I attended her concerts in Norway last year and listened to her comments between songs and watched listened to her interact with the fans, I was convinced she is. Then when, I met and talked with her, there was no doubt. I can tell you she’s the most humble person I’ve had the pleasure to meet.
I can't tell you which performance she did on AGT, but I DO remember watching a video where Simon Cowell followed her backstage and commented, "I don't think you know just how good you really are!" His comment spoke VOLUMES about Angelina's humbleness. 💕
much I think you're quite mistaken: Simon's comment spoke nothing about Angelina's humility. She has known just how good she is since a much earlier age. Yet, not only does she never flaunt it, she never brings any kind of attention to her gifts. In that regard, as well as in all of her music, she is the epitome of restraint. But she definitely knows how special her vocal abilities are.
