I used to have a large Etsy shop but have nothing listed at the moment as I am a bit annoyed at the much larger fees than when I first started . How are you finding it now ?
ah i’m a newbie to Etsy and only opened my shop not too long ago !! but i know the fees are really hurting other businesses right now, so it’s definitely worth considering that too when pricing your items 🥲
I’ve found Shopify to be great but the $29 a month was a little much. There’s a definitely a learning curve with them. I moved over to square recently because of the free card reader that I was going to buy for art walks anyways and the cheaper monthly fee that’s optional (basically just a bunch of features). I hated Etsy they took all my money and I was making $4-10 less than my listing pricing every time 🥲
@@capricornstitches yeah it's useful to compare different selling platforms if you're concerned about the monthly fees, personally i didn't have the budget when starting out so something simple like BigCartel for free was a gift !! so many love square space if you can pay monthly fees though, and i didn't know about the card reader so thank you for sharing here 😊 for those who can't afford monthly fees, they can also consider online marketplaces like depop, ebay etc. but again just be wary of fees when pricing !

i’m trying to start a business so i can help my mom buy a 400,000 house that her dad is selling in her home land guatemala, you can imagine how hard it is to get money fast , also since her dad had sold their land and so she is the only one who doesn’t have a house there bc they didn’t think of her, we are here in guatemala for a vacation for a month and she started crying when we went to go walk around the land who used to belong to her family, i’m making it my life’s mission to pay for her house.. I’m 12 so thank you for this and i’m very happy that i will be able to help her out with this amazing video !!
thank you for sharing Melanie, such a beautiful meaning i wish you all the best 😌
