I work from home and am setting up for hours of streaming on my off time. I absolutely love my UpLift desk (V2 72x30). It makes a world of difference for my days at work where I have to spend 90% of my time at the desk! Having a good standing pad also helps. I really want to get a motion board so I can move my hips a bit when standing too.
Yea I honestly need to use the desk more for what it is. Those boards do look awesome.
Even if all it’s good for is getting the perfect sitting height, it’s better than a static desk

They do cost as high as 10x the price of a fixed height desk though.
@@floatingchimney Sure but many of them are overpriced. There are great cheaper alternatives. The route I took though was just buying the standing legs and building a custom table top. I saved hundreds

I don’t have a standing desk, but I do have a desk riser. It’s fantastic to put your desk exactly where it needs to be. Makes my typing and mousing much easier.
My grandfather has a standdesk at his job, he really likes it.
They are honestly 100% worth it for sure!

Got a standing desk for work, and for me there's no question about it. I can't go back. Last year or so with it is better than anything else BY FAR and it's just a cheap one from Costco

It's also great having a desk that fits you comfortably when sitting too. I can lower it so I have an appropriate true 90 degree elbow AND knee angle.
Yea that is exactly why I got a sit stand desk so I can sit more ergonomically.
Aa a software developer who works from home and spends 8-10 hours a day working, and then a few more after that for games, series, TH-cam etc, this would definitely be worth it for me.
I WFH now and I stream, create content, etc and this comes in clutch so often.
Yes, didn't cost that much on sale either bought the Flexispot E7 it's amazing.

I don’t even use it for standing. Its just nice to be able to have total control over the height of your monitors and stuff

Have you considered setting a reminder several times a day to encourage you to switch to stand up mode? Or is there a way to connect the up and down controls to a timer? Then you could simply turn the timer off when you have a meeting.

standing really isn't the selling point for me. The real selling point is the ability to find your most efficient gaming posture. I've had a few desk and chair setups that were either slightly to high or low. I can get the best ratio with this type of desk

As long as you are not doing anything that needs speakers yes. If you need speakers and need them to perform well that doesn't work as tha massive height difference also massively changes acoustics.
Building mine to be 7' wide to fit over my king bed. Adding a power supply for easy charging.

I recently implemented the ability to stand at my desk while streaming, and I love it. I feel like I'm able to stay energized through the whole stream much easier while I'm standing. Awesome short! Thanks for bringing attention to this.
I have a point redemption too so people can make me stand at my desk during stream but I also feel like when I get tired or start zoning out I make sure to stand for a bit!!!

All depends on the table top size you put. I believe mine is 74 inches long and I have 2 PCs on it, 3 monitors, and other desk accessories.

I have one, and I kinda regret not getting a regular desk. First of all I will never really use it standing up. And it's a nightmare with cable management since now you need cables that have to all be long enough for desk if you want to use it standing. But more improtantly, I cheaped out and got the most affordable one on amazon, which was on sale during black friday. The top plate is like cm thick and it's holding a monitor gas lift arm and a prett heavy, very expensive monitor. The plate is also made fom multiple pieces so I'm really worried it's gonna end up breaking after a while and I'm gonna have a very expensive, broken monitor. I'm planing on buying a new desk, but I just need it to be relatively low. I feel like most people buying this just buy it because "it's kinda cool and maybe I'll stand sometimes" .. you likely wont and if it's a desk wtih a lot of equipment on it you wil likely regret it. It's why this guy's PC is on his desk and not on the floor, because the cables likely wouldn't reach that far, and even if it does you might attach something shorter and forget about it, then raise the desk one day and have the cord pull and damage your pc etc.
ps. I mainly got it because I wanted my desk to be adjustable so I could sit in a proper 90 degree posture. Turns out, I'm just using it on the absolute lowest setting and I would actually prefer it to be a cm or two lower but it doewsn't go any lower lol
I also have an extremely similar chair to yours (sihoo m18). Absolutely love the chair, insanely comfortable, I use the lumbard support on its lowest settting and one unfortunate thing is that the chair has started squeaking
I got a 3 stage sit stand desk so it would go lower
@@IAmBPala Damn I didn't even know those existed. Mine goes to 72cm at its lowest. Which isn't bad. But a few more cm would have been much better for gaming.
Still, I have no need for a standing desk and will never use it standing.

I have a standing desk and it doesn’t necessarily help me out. A lot of research has been done that shows it’s actually worse for you to stand a lot during the day. Your body needs overall rest rather than converting to a standing desk.
In theory the best thing to do is keep moving and changing positions. It is proven that the body likes to stay in motion so blood flows and keeps moving to the muscles and rest of the body. You can get chairs that are meant for this.
What are those lights in your content setup? Look like small led panels but with a cover of sorts to soften it up.

Hi, what kind of tabletop did you get from home depot? Was it ready to assemble?
It was not I had to shelac it, drill holes and such. It was an island counter top.

Just to note sitting for a long time isn't good for you but standing at a desk ISN'T "healthy" either. Healthy is you taking a break every hour, walk around your space/home get a drink maybe step outside if you can and get 5 mins of fresh air. Standing desks are nice but it won't fix anything you can't already do with a normal one.
I mean, you dont NEED a sit stand desk but its nice to have to alternate standing and sitting for sure. Sometimes you cant stop and step away as often as you want to.

The truth is - standing is almost same harmful as sitting. You need to move and be active all the time.

Stand desk outs strain on your knee specially if you are overweight
It is healthy to keep your body moving, so standing even for short periods of time could be good unless you have some sort of medical condition that makes standing dangerous for you etc. But keeping the body in motion is important.
why did you get the wood part from home depot
It is made out of real wood and not veneer. Essentially it will last longer.

Honestly, I have a redemption for me to stand on my stream, and playing Apex it has never bothered me. It sways a little but I also now have 2 pcs and the big butcher block on it so. But overall def can game with an FPS at standing height.

I did very light sanding after applying the shellac to it and that was it. I used a terry cloth to clean the dust off of it afterwards.
