    🌈❤🧡💛💚💙💜 I am one VERY satisfied customer of Signature Solar. I live off grid in a small house, and my first inverter was an 8K that gave me many issues. Signature Solar staff and tech support were amazing. Knowledgeable, patient and they helped me to troubleshoot the issues involved even though I started from knowing zero about Solar Electrical Systems. When it became clear the inverter was faulty, they stepped up and allowed me to replace it with the 6000XP inverter featured in this video. What an amazing and efficient inverter. I now have virtually all of the 110/220v power that I need to heat, cool and run all my electrical needs. Signature Solar was completely accountable for seeing that my issues were resolved and leaving me with a great inverter. Thank you Signature Solar for your great support, great company, and great customer service staff.

    Question regarding the bypass. Do I understand this correctly, you get 3k watts load per leg, from battery power except under generator power, you get an additional 1,800 watts for a maximum of 4,800 watts. And if you have grid power input, you get an additional 3,000 watts per leg for a maximum of 6,000 watts per leg using both battery and grid capacity together?

    The air compressor is a decent load, but maybe you could set up a home furnace with like a 1hp blower on it. I think the air handler blower may create a longer overcurrent and I imagine many people would be very interested in being able to fire up their 120v propane furnace with this unit. Any first hand experience running a furnace with blower on it?

    These 6000XP units look like a great solution in either stand alone or parallel configuration. Great demo. However, as I understand it, the spec requires something like 6 inches on either side of the inverter, maybe 7 (I’d have to check the manual to be sure). The demo setup might have that space between the two inverters but on the other side of either. I’m guessing there were some space constraints but either way it looks good

    Just ordered 2 of these with 2 power pro batteries.
    It would be great if you could show us the loads as you turn appliances on to see exactly what the system is putting out.
    Also I’d love to see how you wired that main panel box up for the loads. Very clean install. I’m off grid with no grid input. Will only have backup generator input with my setup.
    Thanks for the video.

      I too would love to see the panel / load wiring set up for these units. I just purchased two to be installed in series and would love to know the best configuration for bringing the AC out, neutral ground setup, and generator input sizing. You said in the video that a 9000 watt generator would be a good option but the manual said it would need to be 150% larger than the total inverter size. In parallel, two of these inverters would equal 12000 watts which would put the generator sizing at 18000 watts. I currently have a Kohler 12k RES off grid auto start/stop generator and I am concerned this would be too small to supply power for charging the battery bank and the load at the panel. Let me know what you think. Thank you!

      These would cut your idle consumption by a massive amount. I believe you have 3 of the 6000ex’s? That’s around 360 watts! With 3 of these you’d be around 150 watts total consumption. So less then half.

    • @EastTexasHomestead
      @EastTexasHomestead 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That would be a huge savings. My one concern is that these are HF inverters and I’m not sure how they would do with my well pump. I know they show the air compressor starting up here but it’s probably empty, which makes a difference as far as I understand.

    Nice, tell us this... if the breakers on the unit are 50 amps, why wouldn't you use a 50amp breaker and 6awg wire for line and load connections? I know 6awg wire will fitctheclugs on the breakers.
    Thanks, Kelley

    • @SignatureSolar

      We size breakers 1.2x larger to account for surges. We don't want a breaker opening the circuit and shutting off power just because a load has a small surge.

    Great video. Has me thinking of it in a 230v deep well backup UPS system at that price point. In the video you tested inrush from the compressor on a single 6000xp at 92.8 amps. Was that a 240v compressor ? It looks to be so from the info I could gather on the 5.5hp 30 gallon Craftsman compressor.
    Our pump is a 1.5hp with inrush measured at 51.35 amps then continuous 11 amps at 230v.

    I just can't decide if I want to go off-grid, or hybrid and grid-tie.
    I'd like to have grid as a back-up and even sell excess back to the grid, but I keep reading horror stories about power companies screwing over customers in various ways.
    But if these can do off-grid and have grid as a back-up, without selling back, that would probably be my choice. There's just so much info out there and it's all changing so rapidly, it's tough to keep up.

      @@Scotty2Balls I'm a little confused how this works not being able to sell back to the grid (off grid inverters), but still being able to pull from the grid as demand calls for it. How does it island while being tied, yet still work if the utility goes down? Likewise, when tied to a functional grid, how is solar, then battery, then line consumption prioritized? Can you explain further?

    • @ssoffshore5111

      @@Scotty2Balls Thanks, I understand how hybrids work (I have a SA 15K). I'm just trying to grasp how you tie this inverter into a grid tied house, how it prioritizes solar first, and makes up the difference from the grid, and then also doesn't backfeed into the grid when the grid goes down. I'm sure I'm missing something, and maybe not understanding the 50A passthrough she mentioned.

    • @ssoffshore5111
      @ssoffshore5111 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JCII100 IMO, the only real benefit is if your utility still has a fairly lucrative net metering program. With that said, thanks to all the lobbying by the utilities (and of course the greedy folks who benefit from the payola), the lucrative NM programs are very quickly disappearing. If anyone still has access to such a program, they should absolutely sign a long-term contract while they can, because that option will almost certainly be gone soon! For those of us stuck with the newer NM programs which typically pay you back a few pennies for each kW sold back, it's not worth it!

      So i'm interested in almost exactly the same thing. Something that uses PV power first and uses excess to charge batteries, then uses Batteries when sun gets low/cloudy, and finally uses grid power passthrough as needed. So that's "S, B, U" i think. Now i looked and looked and maybe people don't want to put it on youtube but i found a video showing the simplest wiring: Meter to disconnect to 18kpv(single or multiple units) and from the Load output straight into the top of your panel. No subpanels at all.
      It works fine apparently that unit and maybe even these 6000xps, have a 200A bypass automatically.
      I sure hope i'm not wrong cause with disconnects, a couple splitters to feed inverters and to couple their Load output? This would be simple and effective. No way is it code but i think if you do things right and know how to do math, know how to measure, triple check everythiing and leave a lot of overhead wiggle room for inrush current? It'd be fine.

    I never heard back from the design team on my question so ill try here. I have already installed a reliance pro/ trans 2 model 306c manual transfer switch, I used to have a ecoflow delta pro and simply plugged the rv style L14-30 generator cord from the delta pro to the transfer switch male L14-30 plug and everything worked flawlessly. No mention of breaker size for the AC Output in the sub panel but I heard 40 amps in another video. No mention for breaker size in sub panel for AC Input.
    I’m confused by the following:
    5.8.1 GENERATOR SYSTEM CONNECTION When the generator is running, it will charge the batteries and excess AC power will be
    diverted to the AC output (LOAD) to power loads. The pass-through relay on the inverter’s generator
    terminal (GEN) is 30A. When the generator is on, please ensure the total load and charge current does
    not exceed 30A.
    5.10.1 OFF-GRID WIRING
    The 6000XP can accept up to 50 Amps (12kWs) of generator power and will pass
    through all available power to the loads. Therefore, the loads subpanel can be
    sized up to the size of the backup generator with 50 Amps minimum per inverter.

      Not while solar or battery are prioritized. The 18kPV is capable because it is a hybrid unit, but this in an off-grid inverter, which means battery and solar will be prioritized and utility will only kick in when those 2 sources are not present.

    I'm a little confused how this works not being able to sell back to the grid (off grid inverters), but still being able to pull from the grid as demand calls for it. How does it island while being tied, yet still work if the utility goes down? Likewise, when tied to a functional grid, how is solar, then battery, then line consumption prioritized? Maybe I'm just confused about how the 50A "passthrough" works! Can you explain further?

    • @SignatureSolar
      @SignatureSolar  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The 6000XP can use energy from PV, Grid, or batteries for powering the output. However, not all the sources are required. In an off-grid situation, the inverter can be used with just batteries and solar as the energy source.
      The 6000XP can also be used with just battery and grid. This is useful for power backup or load shifting without the expense of the PV modules. In other configurations, the inverter can operate with no batteries and just use PV and Grid. In this configuration the inverter will power from the PV as long as the PV is providing adequate power. If the PV power fall below the demand of the load, the unit will switch to powering completely from the Grid.

      I think the biggest thing with this is the fact it has the breaker builtin and it’s far more efficient at 50w idle over the 130w of the old one

      She said (@ 1:48) 480 VOC across the two MPPTs! That’s NOT 480VOC per MPPT! This is quite confusing because the Solar Forum people are saying it’s 480 VOC per MPPT! I wish we could get the correct VOC in writing somewhere, but the manual is not clear on that, at all! Signature Solar, please clarify to ALL who purchase this unit! I have two coming! (sigh)

      At the moment, we don't offer an outdoor version of the 6000XP. However, we're always exploring new possibilities and innovations. Please check back with us in the future for any updates or potential outdoor options. The 18Kpv is outdoor rated, however it does have to be covered.

      Get a different electrician for starters to make sure it’s all connected correctly. The programming is the next challenge after that.

    The operational temperature minimum on the data sheet is 32F. Don't plan on installing this in a power shed or unheated garage.

    • @SignatureSolar
      @SignatureSolar  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Correct! The operational temperature range is 32 - 113°F for this unit to prevent potential damage or malfunctions. In areas where the temp gets lower a heater would be ideal.

    It’s to bad signature solar is horrible to work with. Tried to return a un-opened growatt 3000 that was sold to me by signature solar after talking to a sells person. Well he failed to tell me that the 3000 growatt needed 140v just to start and required 1200 watts of solar. I did not have the real estate on my 28 ft trailer for 1200 watts of solar and tried to return it and they refused. Even knowing the box was never opened.

    • @SignatureSolar
      @SignatureSolar  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @richardthames661 If the grid goes out the inverter will still work. If losing connection to Wi-Fi is a concern, it only gives the ability to monitor and you can use the LCD screen to do this and change settings.

      🌈❤🧡💛💚💙💜 Richard, I am an owner/end-user of the 6000XP. The WIFI is only to accommodate the app on your phone which is a completely ancillary interface and separate from the operation of the inverter itself. If the power goes out, you won't even notice.
