15:00 is my favorite. The composition is really powerful, the white house balances well with the sun rays in the left. Well done !

You should ask Murray (@scotlandsmountains) for directions up Stob Beinn a'Chrulaiste; it's his favourite location at Glen Coe. There is no path; you need to do some bog trotting at times near the bottom and make your way up slowly. One for next time, but before May, and after September to avoid the midge would be best. Cracking shots - mood central!! Ian

Me & the Pubcast boys found the path up the hill opposite the Bucchaille. Gary named it “The Bastard” as in “I’m not climbing that bastard”! Epic views from there. You were right 😊👍🏻

@@fototripper @dgriffgallery What Dave failed to mention was the key to climbing the 'bastard' has to be preceded by 4 pints of the local ale and a huge burger & chips. Then its easy 🙂

Brilliant video. That light is more often than not like that here. Oohhh the lights rays. To get up to beinn a chrulaiste (opposite the Buachaille you need to walk towards the ski centre until you get to a gate then hug the right hand side of the fence and follow the track. I did a video three months ago (best location in Britain). The last waterfall is called The tears of Glencoe (glen of weeping after this waterfall). Or Elliot’s downfall after the family who use to live in the cottage. Great Castle Stalker. It’s owned by a family down south . I have been in it and it looks a bit 1970’s I am afraid.

I love seeing your work in Scotland... My story: My wife and I's honeymoon involved Scotland 25 years ago. The day we landed is the day my old Minolta camera died. Being young and stupid I didn't go buy a new camera while there. So, I spent 17 days in Scotland without taking a single photograph (no camera phones existed then). One day I'll get back there. Till then, I'll have at least your videos to warm the soul. Thanks for what you do Gavin!

We’re Aussies who’ve just returned from a month driving around the Scottish highlands and Skye, so we can relate to your wonderful vlog. It rained every day bar 3, so we understand your frustration with the rain. However it produced some wonderfully atmospheric and ethereal images. Besides, you don’t get all that green without a lot of rain.

Looks like you wanted to go up Beinn a’Chrulaiste - how you managed not to follow the track I don’t know. If your stuck there just ask Heaton, he Ken’s the way up!
Beautiful brilliant shots…… need to get a copy of “Photoshop for Morons” presumably presented by a top class Moron 😉
Hope you guys are having a great time, get yourself some “fruit dumpling/pudding” with your Brekky… it is a game changer!

The hill you were trying to get up is Beinn a' Chrulaiste which has a track and guides galore on how to find it. However, for the the best view of Glencoe you need to scramble up the side of it on a feature known as Pink Rib. Quite a bit of effort but loads of fun and a special, special viewpoint.

Gavin, you are in Scotland. We have 'right to roam'. You don't need a trail, just point yourself in the right direction and wade through the heather! BTW I think that's the "Devil's Staircase" you were on, part of the busiest long-distance trail in the UK...

That photo is bloody stunning Gavin, thats defiantly the conditions that push all the buttons for me too...reminded me the last year in Rydal water, i didn't know where to point my camera, weird and wonderful effects of light everywhere, the multiple photogasms can mess with ya judgment at times like that. great stuff.

Gavin, Gavin, I must protest: in Scotland we have rivers and burns, the only creaks are from your knees because you're not wearing thick socks with your waders, ye daft wazzock. Please remedy forthwith! Also rub your knees with goosefat grease, or castor oil, or something to stop that noisy creaking. Carry on!

@fototripper I'm surprised that Amanda is still letting you use her Hasselblad. Oops. Just read the intro and see that this one is Roy's. Now they have one each you'll need to get one for yourself!
I'm a bit of a mongrel (do people still talk about dogs as "bitsas"?) although I'm predominantly Scottish and my name is Scottish, courtesy of the Vikings, I believe. My appreciation of Scotland is vicarious, through your channel and various others from names I dare not repeat, as I'll almost certainly never make it back to that side of the world.
Great images as usual and I enjoy the tips mixed in with the banter.

Lovely images Gavin. You are right in saying jump over the fence and just head up the hill. Once you get over the fence at the roadside, keep heading up the hill and u will reach another fence, hop over it and there is a path from there. I usually just head straight up though, it's just as quick as following the path muddy path 👌👍

You photo merge all the time, how about dragging the shutter for the water on a few exposures to smooth it out a bit without filters? Gavin, why couldn't the photographer see straight? He took too may shots.

Dead right about Glencoe Gavin, get out and explore as much as you can in all weathers. Have to say as a Sassenach from the south of England who has also done a fair few trips to USA I think the public toilets in the villages around Scotland are great plus whilst I agree pull-ins are no way as common as in US National Parks it does mean you can avoid the great traffic jams waiting for a vehicle to leave. Don't want too many visitors or it will all look like a mud bath.
Each to their own re the 10Stop filter issue. Yes great if you can return lots of times but most people can't and sometimes 'polishing t***s' can bring out hidden creative abilities. I think it's a matter of individual preference like how much texture you personally like seeing in waterfalls. I must get around to editing a sunset at Castle Stalker I shot back in 2022 great light/sky😁. Keep up the good work!

if the hill is Stob Mhic Mhartuin, that looks across to the Buchaille, drive back out of Glencoe just a short distance to pick up the West Highland Way hiking route. There is a recognised route for the WHW over the back of the hill. It doesn't take you to the summit but you can, at the crest of the ridge, branch off to pick your way to the top. The other side, near where you are, is basically an open hill, boggy stomp, although people have probably created a trail here and there.
