    An interesting tie between those 3 products. Back in the 1990's Some of the Tekton and Zu's employees worked at the same company. Also Tekton Engineers helped produce the first Aperion speakers. Aperions was one of the 1st direct to customer speaker companies. If memory serves.

    Excellent review Man! I have a pair of the Aperion Audio Novus N5B speakers. They took about 48 hours to break in the tweeters. They are much smaller than the N6T but they still have a full detailed sound. The also have a great price point as with the N6T.

      Hey Mr. Haven! Thank you. So you have the Verus and Novus in home? I think I have only seen your Verus with the super tweeter on Instagram.

      @@2ChannelListening Yes it has been a while since I posted the N5B’s on Instagram. I have them in the stealth black (matte black). The N5B’s are very versatile. I have used them as front, surround and height speakers.

    At Aperion you always get a lot of speakers for your money. They play far beyond their price range. With many manufacturers where I can test, I often ask myself after hearing an Aperion how they come to these often overpriced prices when you have Aperion products in your ear. Best regards from Germany and a good start into the year ahead.

      Greetings and welcome Axel! Thank you for your input. What you say is true to a point. Aperion also has a sound profile, much like a B&W and in that vein, unless someone was buying 800' series B&W, Aperion can do the same for much less $$$. Mind you, ZU Audio came back with Dirty Weekend MK6 for $1,599. I know that brand well, when they state they have made more incremental improvements, it is noticeable. Then there is the biggest bang for buck Tekton Design. Different sound and aesthetic altogether.
      V already have plans to get a pair of Verus III V8B. I always like to start lower in a line and move up. Thank you for watching! Happy New Year!

    Thank you for another interesting review Jason. We all have different priorities when we listen to our music. In my case, I'm willing to give up some detail for more musicality when I listen. I've always thought that even a budget system that has good synergy (of its amplification, sources, and speakers) and set up will sound much better than a very expensive one that lacks it.

    These would seem to make a strong contrast from the dirty weekends, at least in my experience of the Zus over a two-month trial. I never found them to be bright. In fact, one of the reasons I returned them is because I found they lacked treble clarity and presence. From what you said I think these go too far the other way. Maybe the tektons would be a sweet spot for me. If only they were nice to look at.

    • @2ChannelListening
      @2ChannelListening  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting take on the DW, I felt that way about the Omen's, dull, but not the new DW's. The Novus N6T require too much fiddling and system synergy to be a long term speaker for me, the Verus line is where its at for Aperion. Tekton who are they again ;-)

    • @lsaideOK
      @lsaideOK ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@2ChannelListening I didn't find them to be dull. I liked the strong bass impact with pop and rock played loud. Had to get footers to keep my place from rattling!
      The guy who sold me my B&W 705s also had a pair of the previous gen DWs. He said he liked to use them with tube amps to listen to 60's and 70's rock. Very specific.

    That company set something up with the crossover. The tweeter @ -3db setting should not have an effect on woofer.
    They have the -3db crossover wired with both the tweeter and one of the woofers set also drops off at -3db when you pull out the crossover wire. They are changing the woofer to mid range or cut the mid range out @ -3db That is not something you can fix.

    • @seanjoell
      @seanjoell ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ 2 Channel Listening (by way of David), Is this true? Did they really cut off some of the midranges to one of the woofers?

    • @2ChannelListening
      @2ChannelListening  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I cannot confirm nor deny this yet. Looking at the crossover, where the jumper connection intervenes on the board, he may be correct. Aperion literature only states its for Treble. Like I said with my experience, it did not allow midrange clarity to be any more obvious or aided, just lost a little bit of leading edge information.

    Hello! Although this video isn't about the Zu Dirty Weekend mk.II's, I had a couple of questions regarding them based off what I had seen in your video:
    It looks like you installed the Zu rubber feet? Did these make much of a difference?
    And did you install the Clarity Caps yourself? Did this make much of a difference in the audio quality, and was it a very difficult task?
    I just got some used Dirty Weekend mk.ii's recently and was contemplating both of these upgrades.
    thanks!

    • @2ChannelListening
      @2ChannelListening  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both aftermarket modifications couldn't be simpler to add yourself. The footers screw right into the existing mounts. The cap is a simple swap, no soldering. The footers absolutely helped with consistent bass and floor coupling. As for the cap upgrade, I cannot say I heard any valuable difference in my small space. Thanks for asking.

    • @mattsev9134
      @mattsev9134 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@2ChannelListening Thanks so much for the reply. I have my speakers in a small room as well and on certain songs the bass is a bit indistinct or mushy. I just ordered the footers today and once I get them I'll play around with the floor gap as well.
      Really enjoy your channel by the way, and just subscribed. Keep up the great work!

      @@2ChannelListening I Have the Mozart SE (with HegelH390) and LS3/5A (with Hegel H190) that are similar to Harbeth P3SR. Since you have many Harbeth including P3SR, I am curious about your take on the Mozart and also how they compare with the various Harbeth models. Thank you in advance for such comparisons. By the way I am extremely happy with both of my systems that present a very pleasing, accurate, airy and never fatiguing sound. I listen mostly to classical, some jazz and vocals.

      As these things go, I never know what the initial experience will bring. I love the quality and design of these. Realistically, I cannot expect every design to be spot on with my listening preferences. I merely want to match up particular brand loyalists with new options.
