Thank you for this tutorial and for making your project files available! I just bought them. Looking for mountain tutorials and blender files has been a very frustrating experience. You nailed it!

As other commenters have noted, this already looks fantastic! Turn the sub-surf modifier settings down to "1", and you've created a scene from the ice ages, Antarctica, or some alien ice world.
Eagerly looking forward to Part 3!

The issue you had with the stray vertex at around the 7:50 mark was because you didn't deselect the vertex before hitting C for the circle select. Circle select always adds to whatever is already selected unlike other methods of selecting bits of the mesh. If you hit Alt+A before doing any circle select you will know you have deselected everything before using the circle to select what you want. Been there, done that, worn the t-shirt!

Yeah lol, I forgot to de-select everything.

Hi Ryan, I can usually access closed captions or subtitles on your vids but they have become unavailable. I've checked my settings and (in theory) everything is as it should be. Is there an upload setting or something that could've been knocked out your end? Being profoundly (profanely, would be just as accurate) deaf, I use the captions to fill in the words I mishear or don't hear at all.

Sorry about that, TH-cam is kinda weird sometimes, it automatically made the subtitles, but for some reason it didn't publish them on the video. It usually does automatically. The subtitles should be there now. 👍‍

@@RyanKingArt Thanks, Ryan. I think TH-cam has changed something as other channels aren’t letting me see subtitles either. It’s all enabled, it’s just not happening. I’ll take a look again shortl. 👍🏻

Ho w do I edit an imported obj file/saved blend file? The files look locked and I cannot explode the model for editing?
    Cheers mate!

Without any texturing it looks like an ice mountain. Amazing how the HDRI adds realism even without any textures on the landscape.
