      Warning : I wonder how many TVs have been ruined thanks to this. NEVER EVER RUN PIXEL REFRESH MANUALLY. After around 10 pixel refreshes, the TV is dead. 20 is absolute max. That's why the damn thing has 30000 hours average lifespan, because pixel refresh burns your LEDs so it gets evenly used up every 2000 hours. What a horrible, HORRIBLE suggestion from someone who has no idea what he is talking about.

    Could you make a video about longevity and reliability of OLEDs in comparison with QLEDs ?
    Which TV will last longer without any problems with dead pixels, losing colours over time etc..

    • @GenghisJan
      @GenghisJan ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't need a video about that, the answer is pretty simple: The QLED will last you longer in 99.9% of cases (except if there's a manufacturing defect or anything...)
      The reason being, they don't degrade over time. Technically they can last over 10 years unchanged... Organic pixels degrade by design, although with all the new protective settings and newer OLED tech a lot slower than they used to. So an OLED may as well last you quite a couple of years *almost* unchanged, depending on your usage habits.
      A lot of static images on certain sections of the screen (news channels etc.) for hours on end are "deadly" to an OLED, the way I like to say it, an OLED is designed to watch movies, cinematic style, especially in a dark room image quality will blow you away - LCD is fine for watching mostly TV/sports.
      I'd still almost always go with the OLED, especially if you're watching mostly at night the perfect blacks, infinite contrast and popping colours are just a blast!

    • @ItsSamuelJones
      @ItsSamuelJones  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Funnily putting burn in to one side. LED TV’s often have issues after 5 or so years. Dead pixels, dark spots where the backlight goes, they are also heavier and are easier to damage when moving. Other than burn in, OLEDs are remarkably damage resistant

    • @GenghisJan
      @GenghisJan ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ItsSamuelJones okay, didn't know about that (apparent) degrade in quality, cuz I still own LCD TVs that must be 15 years old by now and still run fine... Maybe they're more prone to issues now with all the Dimming zone stuff and being pushed to the max to compete with OLEDs :D

    • @Atlas_Redux
      @Atlas_Redux ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GenghisJan Just don't touch pixel refresh outside of the automatic every 2000 hours and you'll be fine. NEVER EVER DO IT MANUALLY, this video is misinforming as hell. It's the pixel refreshes that mostly degrades the image, but needed to even out usage.

    • @ItsSamuelJones

    Just too note the tv will run the pixel refresh every 4 hours of use. After 2000 hours of use the tv will force you to do a pixel refresh we’re the tv can not be used for a good 30 minutes. Do not go around doing the refresh manually it’s very hard on the panel and should only be ran if you see something wrong with the screen. Okay I would also recommend keeping pixel shift on this will make the tv slightly move the pixels so there not stationary this helps with not getting a stuck on or dead pixel. And I’d also turn on logo dimming keep it on low but when the tv detects a logo it’s will dim the logo part to prevent burn in.

    • @Atlas_Redux
      @Atlas_Redux ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong. The 4 hour is just an auto shutdown that you can manually change the time of. When the TV goes off, it then takes 5 minutes to make sure all pixels are complete out of charge. It does this every time, no matter how long. The 2000 hours is a LED burner to even out usage of the pixels and SHOULD NEVER EVER BE RUN manually, only every 2000 hours, as after 10 runs the TV is nearly dead. Stop spreading misinformation, dumbass.

    • @ryans413
      @ryans413 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Atlas_Redux I’m not every 4 hours of use once the tv is on the set dose a refresh after you power the set off. The 2000 hour refresh is done once it hits 2000 hours and the tv forces you too do it the set will shut off and do it’s thing. That’s the one you can do manually at anytime if you like in the settings. But the tv will force you anyways once it hits 2000 hours. You can check how many hours the set has in the settings. And by the way what this dose is energize the panel with high voltage to help clear up any uniformity like imagine retention that’s not burn in but slight ghosting of other images. This should not be run all the time it weakens the panel. Everything I’ve said is is proper knowledge look it up. That’s how the set works and that’s what it dose.

    Hey, can anyone confirm if the LG C2 has sound lag?
    Audio feels delayed to me by a few frames. I can confirm easily when I split HDMI into HDMI+Audio, so I can use external speakers at the same time as the TV, and I hear a clear difference in delay for the TV.

    People purposely turn off auto update from LG, Sony and Samsung coz it fixes something while break something else. I could not watch one of my samsung tv for almost a month as their firmware update broke my wireless wifi connection and was not connecting at all.

    • @donkeysunited

      True. I couldn't find a way to turn off the update prompts so I turned off the TV's network connection instead (I'm using it as a PC monitor). Now if I could just get it to stop prompting me to do the pixel refresh every few days and to stay on for longer than 8 hours, this TV as a monitor would be perfect.

    Yup, can agree with previous comments.
    Tip 4 is actually counterproductive, DON'T run pixel refresh manually, pretty much, ever. There's almost no scenario where it makes sense and it wears off the organic pixels faster than necessary.
    Tip 5 also heavily debatable. My advice: Disconnect your TV from the web altogether and use a streaming stick etc. And DISABLE auto update, cuz if you're happy with your TV and image quality, why risk breaking something/some settings with an auto update? Always do your research, what an update might add/whether you even need it and otherwise be happy with your TV as it is.
    Especially Samsung is known to actively degrade (!!!) image quality after a few years, so people buy their new sets.

    Interesting tips, but THE most annoying thing about ppl who create info content on TH-cam….. SHOW THE SCREEN that you’re referring to and don’t cover it up with your face!!! I know everyone wants to be a ‘personality’ these days but most ppl just want to see the info the video is about clearly. Having someone’s face in the corner talking away is totally unneeded and just irritating!

    I wonder how many TVs have been ruined thanks to this.
