This man is winning the Civ 6 vids for me right now! Short, to the point, great editing. I learn something & am excited to do it myself. Everyone’s vids don’t do that for me. Like & subscribed!
Could you make a video about the religion mechanic? Coming back to the civ franchise from the third game has been somewhat confusing and your vids really help!
The game does a pretty good job of picking the best tiles for you, but it can be really helpful to micromanage pop growth or production maxing. It can be really helpful to balance your settler production and population growth so you don't waste any growth when you complete settlers.
good video, is their a way to deal with cities you have captured that now say 0 growth but have more then enough food to create surplus food but still say Occupied: no growth. This is the problem i am having. be the first to cover the topic :) been searching for a vid but havent found 1.
Oh hello, I'll answer that for you. The reason why is on standard rules occupied cities simply aren't allowed to grow and won't until the war is over. So you'll either want to annex the city in a peace deal with the AI or fully annex their entire empire by taking their last city if you want the captured cities to grow. So try to keep your wars swift and brief as no one wins with forever wars in civ. Hope that helps!
Question: I am building a city on an artic coast, with no tiles that can be farmed. Suppose that it also has no access to fresh water or nearby mountains, so I can't build an aqueduct. The goal is to build a harbor, encampment, commercial, and industrial zones so that in the late game, another city working on a space race project can gain five production with a trade route to this city. To build all of these districts, I need to (at least temporarily) reach a population of 10 citizens. Suppose that I have no problem bringing in enough food through trade routes. How do I get enough housing? It looks like I would need twelve housing to grow my population to 10 in a reasonable amount of time. I start with two housing, and I can add four more with a grainery and a sewer. If the first two districts I build are the harbor and encampment, then I can get two more housing with a lighthouse and barracks, reaching eight. Building city walls as a monarchy would get me to 10, but how do I get the last two? I don't want to have to count on getting a specific wonder, but is there anything else I am missing? I don't want to have to wait for neighborhoods to get this done. Are there any policy cards available earlier on the civics tree that would be helpful, or any other options I am missing?
@@EvTheBadConlanger Good point. If there are two sea resources within reach, definitely. Come to think of it, if sea resources are within reach of two cities, I might be able to effectively share them, since I only need to get one city to population 10 at a time. But the plan is to tightly pack cities along the coast, regardless of the land features. I would also build aqueducts where available, or build a few farms where farmable tiles are within reach. But I am looking for options that work regardless of the resources around the city, or lack thereof.
@@RidicAcidic Oh, ok. Still a good point I didn't know. Basically means you should always have way beyond the housing allowance. I thought eg - 6 pop 6 houses was ok all this time.
hey man my friends insist on playing on online speed although i want to play domination and i wanted to ask if mongols are good in this situation? because the speed of the cavalry units after making the ordu is impressive what do u think? Ty
Whats a good amount of tiles away i should make my settler build a city? Is it always like 5 away? Also what is up with spies? I try to set them to defend but theres 4 options. Should i set my spy to defend just the regular town square?
I have whole video on spies. As for how far your cities are from each other? There's no right or wrong answer, some people cram them together, others space them out. Too complicated to answer in a comment, but just do what feels more fun, going in the middle with 4 or 5 isn't a bad choice
Ridic Acid, the man of the game
Damn straight 😎
I love those vids about Basic mechanics in civ 6. Very good way to remind me how things work ❤
Also keep making those awesome videos 😁

Dude, I had no idea I could change where citizens could go on each tile

great vid, see you in the next video
I love how absolutely down to earth you are.
This is a great pop guide! Saved

YOOO I’m at the end of the video in the discord section
Haha wassup banana man?
THANK YOU
Really good
Does housing on Ocen and river tiles stack, so for excample, do I get more housing if I settle an a river plus Ocean tile than on just a river?
No, you would just get the +5 from the river. Although I believe it stacks for Australia

Here’s one: don’t.
In all seriousness, I’d also try to get a bit of housing from fishing boats which also happens to be a good source of food considering the situation.

So if ur on the limit eg 6 pop and 6 houses your production is slowed? Is that right?
No no, your FOOD production is slowed. Not the little gear things

If you're going to go that Route, I'd recommend Columbia as they get the movement buff to all units without the additional infrastructure
Ayyyy
Your content is elite bro
