I have a boat and a truck always thought I would crash a plane, but you have given me confidence to get this one. I also didn't want a beginner looking plane even if that's what I should start out with. I'm really drawn to the jet. I like everything about them. It's one I could stay with for a longtime. My experience with RC has been the faster and more powerful it is the less fun it is.
I feel the exact opposite way with my boat and trucks/cars. Faster is always better! That said, this looks like a great way for me to start flying. I know I'll have one soon.
I put a 6S Viper motor and fan in mine. It was a tight fit and the wings came off. It did a 100 miles an hour. Before she crashed. I flew at 5 or 6 times before the wings flew off.
Best Video I've seen on this plane and even best way for a beginner. One of our RC club guys bought one and I plan to get him going on it. He currently flies the T-28 Trojan still in safe mode and now wants a jet :>)
I collect 1:18 scale model cars and found this channel on accident at like 4am and ive been watching you and your buddy mach 3 and you guys got me wanting to fly. Looking to order my first plane today!
Awesome video Jay !! I have not flown planes since the 1960's with the string control and a cox 0.49 engine. Now days the planes look great and.... easier to fly. This "jet" looks like something I could master pretty easy. I like your videos and would love to see more with the control inputs and what they do to the plane when moved.
...OMG what a great and encouraging video you have made especially showing Cheyenne fly the Habu....some of the guys here at our field fly jets but with the speed they fly them...I never thought i would fly a jet but the Habu STS is my ticket to a jet thanks to you and your video.... thanks so much for your recommendation.... PS I love the sound of the Habu.... very jet like sound.....
There are other makes to the mighty pricey Eflite.. I recommend "Arrows hobby Marlin" for a small basic beginner edf jet. It has rudder, ailerons, elevator, steerable nose wheel AND FLAPS. Marlin is a nice fast flier. And a nice slow flier with flaps. Fly with wheels, or take them off and fly hand launched. Really can't be bettered as a basic EDF trainer.
@@Jays_rcgarage The Arrows Marlin is a good trainer for bigger faster EDF jets. Maybe not so good as a basic first trainer - its a bit small and not that floaty.
I taught my daughter how to fly with the Habu STS. Well, honestly the plane did all the work. Now she is flying the Elite A-10 with ease. She now wants the FMS F16 next. I bet your Golden Retriever can fly the Habu STS, too. lol
Awesome video bro, my prime rc battery for some reason also has the green lights telemetry and I don't think its a smart battery, nevertheless it gives me the plane battery reading on the dxs transmitter, I didn't expect it to work, but it does which I found interesting, great plane the Habu probably one of the best alround planes there is does everything 👌🏼
Ngl after watching this, I think I am going to buy my first rc plane. Im so used to cars but this looks so fun ..... She made it look easy. Thanks fr for the video. Gonna have to sort through the many options of starter planes.
I don't know if you have flown the FMS Futura before the 64mm version, but based on my experience seeing as I have never flown the Habu, I would say it's a super easy starter plane, and with a descent sized battery I can get very long flight times with it
Good afternoon. Recently I bought one aeroscout S2 RTF with an included DXS. I would like to get one more plane (preferrable in BNF) but since I don t want to spend more than 300 euros I thought I could use the DXS for other planes. From what I know, binding it to other models would require programming and tuning, which is pretty complicated from my point of view. I talked to some HPI racing professionals about this and they told me that all rc planes from horizon (with 6-7 channels) should work just fine only by inserting the battery and turning on the TX. Ideally, I would get a Habu SS 50mm but I am worried I will mess up the controls between the models so a umx timber would be also perfect. Please tell me if that is possible without any out-of-the-box tuning. Thank you in advance.
This was my first rc plane... still love seeing people who dont know about this plane go crazy when a beginner asks about this plane as a first... dont preach what you dont know 😂 good example here, Jay.
Hi Jay, Happy Labor Day, Quick question: Does Horizon make a BNF version of this as I would rather use my NX8 with it. Thank you, take care, Jeff in MN
Great video. I’ve just ordered an FMS Ranger 1220 RTF…. I’m getting back into the hobby after 10yrs out… what would you recommend as a first EDF plane? This one or something else? Thanks
I think this Habu is great for anyone but especially if its a first ever RC Airplane.. If you fly the 1220mm Ranger no problem you can probably move onto something more sporty like the 64mm Futura or something like that. But I LOVE this habu. going to make a follow up video on it when the weather breaks.
Habu is just a big glider, fly's ok with an edf, a little floaty. I build them with twin props sand they are a beast. people say why are you putting props on a jet? well first of all an EDF is NOT a jet, it's a heavy overpowered fan the weights a lot with the battery you have to use. anyways the habu is an excellent frame for learning and for FPV
Couple years back I had an f-18 hornet in the blue angel design , had it shipped from banana hobbies in LA to Scotland ….had it in the back garden 10 mins later the sun had melted the nose cone !! never flew it , shame it cost near on £900…I’d probably have crashed it lol it was capable of 100 mph …my first RC Plane 😂
Get a Spectrum transmitter. Depending what you plan on flying 6-8 channel is usually a good starting point! Batteries range depending on the models you choose. I run a variety, SMC.. Spectrum.. & BOLT
I inquired about the jet and they wanted over 450 pounds while a lot of the others were only a 100 and something pounds are they taking advantage of beginners I just can’t afford it but I want a jet that’s easy for me as a beginner?
Jay, Can you send me everything I would need to get this jet and everything else I would need to walk out on a lot and fly this plane? Links to get everything I need to jump in and fly this plane/jet?
I’m pausing the video at 9:00 minutes to commend you on how you instilled confidence in your girl and had total support for her….well done sir.
Love the way Jay talked about the sticks. Learned a lot today. I am beginner I hope you can explain more about handling sticks.
Man this was wholesome . Jets are the most fun imo ! Glad to see a beginner one . Keep this style of content coming !
That not a jet
Yeah it's a MODEL jet which means modeling a jet not an actual jet and not actual jet engines @GTMemes2
@@GTMemes2it’s a edf it’s still a jet jackass😂 these are toy models not full scale sorry sir
Seeing a beginner fly that plane really sold me on that model. Amazing. Well done!

She did great, the fifth landing was clean!
I am a beginner with the 1220 ranger and I have only ever broke one prop when I flew it into my leg😂
Nice steady flight envelope great looking plane .
Amazing
Recently had this as a gift, it is amazing I got easy to fly. And remarkably sturdy after impact too. Lol
Won’t ask how you know about the impact durability 👀 😂
I put a 6S Viper motor and fan in mine. It was a tight fit and the wings came off. It did a 100 miles an hour. Before she crashed. I flew at 5 or 6 times before the wings flew off.
The wing and tail are still fine. And the motor survived as well.
Worth it

I recently found your page Jay and I can say the best rc content by far🤝🏾. I’m definitely going to get into the rc world thanks to you.

Nice try, "account that definitely isn't Jay's backup account"...😂
Funny, on my phone the arrow is pointing to the report comment button😂
I think I’ll do that.
She did really well. I've been flying a long time and that was cool to watch.

Great video Jay!! This is an excellent flying plane for newbies and looks great in the air, thanks for sharing 👊🏼👊🏼
We still need to hop on live together! When I get my RQ-7 back we need to set that up 💪🏼
Dude, I'm sold!!! Always wanted to get a jet and this is a perfect starting point
WOW a friend sent this to me - I didn't even know the plane models is a thing still - very cool
I love my Habu STS! Amazing is an understatement!
Jay you are an expert pilot. I hope to pick this up soon
Great video and congrats to Cheyenne, though i think she's innately more capable than most beginner pilots. 😊
lol! She has crashed every plane she ever touched. Except this one! And it’s the only jet she ever flown. Pretty wild 😂
@@Jays_rcgarage oh, haha, I thought she never flew a plane before and was surprised how quickly she got the hang of LoS flight.

Absolutely awesome! I've never wanted a jet more! Looks great in the air and flies like an angel!
You can put a 5000 milliamp battery in those things, too. And they fly a little slower, but they fly well for like 6 minutes
Bro I clicked on this video and thought I was watching Eminem for a half second
Im never wearing a hat again...

Nice touch and go.
Yeah I need one of those for my first jet ! I've been flying since 1980 but never had a jet!
you are my biggest inspiration
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
As3x and SAFE really are great.
This plane flies AMAZINGLY SLOW for an EDF!! 10/10 on yelp🔥
Thank you for posting this. I like it.
Liked and subscribed. Great recommendation. Having a radio included option is great.
Appreciate you !
Whats the price
In one configuration, I may consider at times taking off the gears and let it float over grass low and slow, and fast and low.
I'm excited about this. I want an RC plane and this seems like a great starter plane!
Great video, thanks for sharing. This gives me more options. Love the channel 👌🏾😎👍🏾👍🏾🤲🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾
Love the video. Great staff and great plane. Do you where I can buy it if I am in Spain in Europe. I would love it for a Christmas present.
Jay your channel is PHENOMENAL!! Do you do your own editing? It’s STELLAR!!
Gerat video. I haven't been flying long and my Habu is sitting in the hanger while I'm flying my high wings. Guess i should roll it out.
I just got my first plane yesterday and one of the biggest problems I have had with this plane is not enough spare propellers

Also , the Eflite flight simulator module for a computer and then you use your transmitter, and fly all of the Eflite line...Virtually

sub'd so happy this showed up on my main page
absolutely love the idea of buying this plane

Nice video! can you recommend a camera and a 3d printer? and here last landing was like fedex 80 just the good ending
a good 3d printer in the creality ender 3 v2 or v2 neo
What kind of camera ? For the airplanes I like the insta360 go 3 for small in size but quality pictures. The 360 stuff I use the GoPro max !

Great video. can you please recommend a low cost beginner hobby airplane for my 8 yr old Son
A Jet that flies like a glider. Great intro for students and experience pilots that like to lawn chair low stress touch and goes.
That was awesome. She did a great job. I'm in for this plane.

This is probably my next plane.
waooowww,,, amaziiiing RC & maiden fight👍👍👍😃
