Agree. And this constant push for what are family cars to be sporty with taught suspension does my head in.. Almost all there driving are day to day family /work commuting on our shit roads so why would you want stiff suspension that rattles your fillings out? I'm pleased to see people comment on how comfortable it rides.. The other thing journalists constantly talk about is seats not "hugging" them enough yet so many are mid 5 foot small frame guys and they forget there are guys like me who are well over 6 feet tall plus average Joe's that have a little cushion so to speak.. .. I love nothing more than a flat bottom seat like my lounge where I can't feel the steel seat frame constantly pressing into my hip joints..

I bought this ultra 4WD version a few months ago. It’s great. Running performance excellent and bass of music looks like my Denon amplifier and Bose speakers. A friend bought Mitsubishi suv finding everything esp. the video screen small and blur. Not even has roof top windows and lacks many more. He regrets so much now, blaming his wife for switching the decision. I understand there are better models after my model.
It’s always , in the beginning, and for a small bits. ( “oh it’s China cars , so no good. “ Quite Natural after years of West propaganda.
Differently, I think about Chinese space station, Chinese big rockets , new C919, China bringing the moon soil back, going to Mars, biggest dam , fastest high speed train, greatest bridges, ship building is 200 times US capacity, Belt and Road that American scared of China development ) , then come a conclusion myself. Also happening, my ford car had door seals come dropping down like a rope , the door handles ripped off after opening the door, my new Panasonic TV dead after a few months , and then new Sony TV happily open on the New Year’s Day finding it open and dead on the spot , nothing come out, it’s dead. So I don’t trust the big name propaganda.
Got believe yourself, your own research.
Why I bought this Haval. Because, this Haval sold 3 millions in China already. The Chinese people likes driving all the big brands be it Audi, Masalati, Mercedes, Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, VW, etc etc and then for that year on, this SUV Is top seller in China. Owner of a Haval H6 Ultra 4WD since late June 2021.Test drove many other cars first including tuscon, quasqai and the haval jolion b4 the H6. Love the H6. Best value for money out there. It's a BIG mid sized SUV. If they could put the H6 2 litre engine in the Jolion size car they'd have a big winner.... Jolion is underpowered in my opinion which is why I went for the H6.
A couple of things they could improve for the next version - but nothing that would stop me from buying this great car...
    1) Needs dedicated air con/fan controls or make a way to be able to control from the steering wheel buttons. Touch screen is too hard to use to change air con settings while driving especially when using google maps or car play. which take over the screen.
    2) The angle of the top of the dash area and the front windscreen create a lot of heat reflected up to the drivers face area (I live in sunny, hot Queensland) and the angle of the air con vents really struggle to counteract that unless you run the air con on very high settings. Can't really get the air con vents to blow up to the drivers face to quickly cool you down on a hot day.
    3) Minor only - but an ability to adjust the distance of the warning beeps would be nice - it starts beeping when you're still a long way away from any object when parking.
Generally a great car that needs a bit of refinement to make it an excellent car but definately great value for money in my opinion in the Ultra WD version.

I own an ultra 4wd version in H6 for 3 months now, the handling and feature you get is exceptional. No single problem since. Things like further seating Adjustment (Paul wants it), the wheel spinning at launch (you won't get that if its 4WD), powered booth gate, full panoramic roof window, and vented seat and HUD! I recommend you guys have trial on that. Yes the only drawback would be lack of crashing test. I got the H6 Ultra here in NZ. People are worried about the re-sale value. The Tucson Elite is comparable to the H6 Ultra in features but cost 26k more in NZ. That's a lot of cash to keep in the pocket. So if in five years I sell my H6 for zero dollars I still have my $26k.

I could put those funds in a term deposit and after 5 years it'll be say 28.5k. Say you able to get 50% for the resale of the Tucson which puts it at 33k. Even if my H6 only gets 25% resale after 5 years at 10k, I still come out with 38.5k in my pocket. Pretty straight forward I think.

Hey Paul, came from a 2016 Sportage SX. Bought a ‘21 H6 Lux & Pleasantly surprised.
Agree, the initial transmission engagement (it goes hunting) the seats need more thigh support & squab could do with height adjustment. Though the radar cruise is fantastic, I wish you could turn off the intelligent cornering function- it’s too intrusive. But the inclusions, tech, feel, size we recommend it.
It not perfect like you expect a rav4 to be but we didn’t have months spare to wait, let alone the extra $15K spend for similar inclusions.

I have the 4WD version. Totally blown away by the value. It is so much better than you think for under $40k. I drove the 2WD version & found it too lurchy. Yes the suspension can use some work but it is well beyond “just good enough”. I tend to use the SPORTS driving mode because I prefer it. The only thing I would say that needs work is: seating & seat position. The seats are super premium & beautiful. The seats are good but not great. More under thigh support is needed & the electric positioning is hard to get right. Without the lumbar support I reckon the seats would be uncomfortable. Automated parking is great for really tight spots as visibility is not excellent but it is good. If I could change anything it’d be seating positioning steering positioning (better reach positioning would be good somehow it’s just not quite right). I seriously recommend this car. It is good. It is really good.

I have a 4wd luxury in South Africa, I don't have seat warmers but it does come standard with the sunroof and I can adjust my seat height electronically. Apple car play only works on the passenger USB port. The bluetooth microphone for calls is terrible and that is apparently because it is on the passenger side, they didn't move it to the right hand side for the South African market. Speakers are average as mentioned, I find it sounds better when you take it off Dolby atmosphere mode and eq it yourself. The engine isn't great if you compare it to German cars but it feels as good if not better than the Hyundai and Kia's. The car is very responsive in sport mode, the driver assist tools work pretty brilliantly aside from the hard breaking in adaptive cruise control mode which can apparently be fixed with a software update.I've put just over 4000kms on the car in the last 3 months. My overall verdict is you get a lot of car for what you paying. The car feels smooth, fuel economy isn't great. The tech works like its supposed to. I am very happy with the purchase.

No worries. Car only has 1500km as I only do short distance drives. Car drives like a dream, friends are wowed by its looks both inside and out. (Random people in the street often ask me about it)
Great power with 2l turbo which is difficult to get from competitors in the same price bracket. If you floor it, you will actual wheel spin it from a stop street!! (i have 2 wheel drive).
Long term reliability will only be known in the future BUT Haval is china's leading SUV seller in a market of over 1.3 billion people so I feel confident.

Funny….I read the Chinese bashing remarks about their cars here and remember when Japanese cars started to flood our market back in the 70’s and people called them junk and wouldn’t last. Next was the Koreans to be knocked and now they are a force to be reckoned with. So anyone trying to kick the Chinese brand really isn’t the brightest. You get what you pay for….a brands new car with a warranty for peice of mind for under 40k, or a 5 year old euro out of warranty and thousands required for minor fixes.
Me…euro guy through and through..personal choice. But I recommended one these H6’s to my sister as a kiddie bus and crap carter and she couldn’t be happier. She dosent care if it leans a bit at 120kph because she dosent do that.
She’s driven my 2010 Audi A8 V8 tdi and thought it cumbersome, and now I’ve got a bi-tdi estate passat which she complains is noisey (road noise, and she’s not wrong), and too firmly sprung…same for my golf gti fun car. Each to thier own guys…but like them or not…Chinese cars TODAY I don’t think deserve the crap the older ones got.

The ride apart from that intrusive cornering in cruise mode is incredibly compliant. Fuel economy on the highway is outstanding for a petrol SUV (we've actually done better than the factory claimed). No, you made the right move. This thing will fall apart, rust and will have electronic issues within a year. Avoid Chinese shitboxes for a number of good reasons.

I think you have made a good decision , vehicles Made from great wall don't age well. The materials used in the interior always look great when new, but in 4 years time it falls apart. The resale value is extremely poor. And parts will be difficult to find in a few years since great wall made vehicles are not international like in the us or Japanese market .

They used USB A ports instead of USB C. Anyone know what the output power in volts and amps is for the usb ports especially the Dashcam one? I find these usb a ports quite slow normally

Tried all the cars in this group. Except for the cx5 2.5 turbo (which costs twice as much), the haval is much faster, bigger, cabin feels more modern and personally like the model better. Loving the h6
