David you incorrectly state that there needs to be air between the wood, loaded. The air flow is NOT "through" the fire - as you incorrectly state! I had to go to the original source to clarify this. DR. TLUD himself!: " Now the KEY element here for its cleanliness is they are gases being burned. The reason that these Microgasifiers are cleaner burning stoves is that the oxygen that is coming in for doing the combustion ONLY has contact and mixes with GASES. It's not out there mixing with the wood or the other fuels and things like that. GASIFIERS separate the creation of the gases from where thoses gases are being combusted. That separation might be a matter of a few centimeters or a matter of a few milliseconds. However it is separated and it greatly facilitates the mixing and the turbulence and stuff so you can get a clean burning into there." th-cam.com/video/_ivVG-rWunM/w-d-xo.html watch part 1 first - for that quote. thanks (and YES I do own a Silverfire Hunter). thanks
+David The Good Battery air mattress pump in the draft hole would word good I bet. Wish the Dragon had chimney...maybe could cut one in?? Then wish had a ash clean out method....oh well
Oh yeah. I once "borrowed" my wife's hairdryer, taped it to a pipe and used that to force air into a little pit forge in the back yard. Got it hot enough to melt zinc. It would totally work.
too bad don't have a draft control like the other one with no chimney. I believe they did at one time but deleted it. Would be sooo much easier to start the fire, and control the smoke and flame....da!!!

I have one and I really like it. I need to use it more.
They're great for cooking out - very efficient.
I wonder how he managed to mount a microphone on that Rooster!
HOw critical are using all of the 4 stove pipes? I wonder because any less weight to carry when traveling is nice.
I have one and highly prefer the Silverfire Survivor which I love. I don't like not being able to see the burn in the hunter for one thing.
I would like to try that one out.
