@@TheNobleWay I know. Look at what they did to Epcot. Thats proof enough of what will happen, also as far as I know Disney is not really in a good economic state. Would not surprise me if they go bankrupt in a couple of years or so.
Dark universe is going to win cause it is already reality. Disney always makes promises, shows concepts but more often than not under delivers or just straight up cancels it. So ya, I will believe it when I see it from Disney, that is how little faith I have on them.
It's funny & convenient Disney brought back the idea of the villains land which no one gives a dam about when UNIVERSAL'S CLASSIC MONSTER LAND was announced. In my opinion I'm more hype for the classic monsters land at Universal!
I'm not saying that I hate Disney, I'm a fan but, Disney should come up with unique new ideas that would bring guest's back to the park that they lost due to their attendance rate instead of taking back an old idea after seeing the huge hype on Dark Universe. Although I'm more of a Universal type of Guy!
Dark Universe is Universal’s legacy. 100 years of horror and it all started with the monsters. There’s no question it will be incredible! Disney Villains Land will be very cool as it’s the antithesis of their Princesses which is the Disney legacy. I’m very excited for both.
The reason why Universal hasn’t done Sit Down type Restaurants is because at Universal, there’s just so much to walk around and do! So, it’s just not practical to have Sit Down Restaurants all over the place.
Both Dark Universe and the Disney Villains “Dark Kingdom” will have equal appeal. The characters that inspired both lands are iconic and incredibly timeless. I do suspect Dark Universe pushed Disney over the edge. Competition is good for everyone. Though, people need to understand Dark Universe is probably going for more of a gothic atmosphere, rather than gore. There are several attractions deliberately designed for children, which is a good thing.
@@zarajenkins6948we sure will about 5-6 years for the Iger corporation then as usual it will be another over promised under delivered, just Tiana’s and the sad Epcot redevelopment.
Dark Universe, and this is just the beginning bro. Epic Universe is going to be on a whole different level, a level that no other theme parks have ever taken before.
Given the track record for each company... I'd say Dark Universe would win hands down. If we were simply going off of the concept art alone, and not considering how much D*sney over commits and under delivers these days, it'd be a much more even playing field, and Villains land might even take the win in that scenario, but I digress...
Dark Universe EASILY. Disney Villains Land will undoubtedly give Disney at least a temporary boost, yet Dark Universe has a much larger cross-demographic appeal ranging from older kids to Zoomer adults to Millennials to even some Generation Xers who were raised on horror movies and have such a lasting soft spot for the genre. Disney Villains Land's audience is comparatively limited demographically as I'm sure it will be toned down considerably for younger children just like pretty much everything at Disney parks is these days, and I also expect Dark Universe will be FAR more ambitious thematically and atmospherically so it will have greater lasting appeal.
I feel like we all win because they are both going to be fun I mean I honestly think monsters will probably be better but they're both going to be fun for me!
It’s very hard to say since we don’t know much about the villains land. As an ip, I prefer the villains. However in the concept art, it looks like rmc’s eye box coaster track. If Disney built an rmc, I’d probably have to give it to villains. I'd also prefer a trackless dark ride to the kuka arm since that ride system makes me nauseous.
Are you insane??? Have you seen the theming of dark universe. It’s beyond unbelievable. It’s like you are stepping in a different dimension. No Disney land present and future comes close to that.
I’m a little concerned about Epic’s take on the classic monsters. The story about Dr. Frankenstein’s great-great granddaughter sounds a bit hokey, and Dracula looks really bad. I would have preferred the classic Bela Lugosi look. Universal already struck out with their modernized Universal Monster-Verse movie plans.
Not a single model or further concept art or even a 3D fly through of Villains land but they say theyre ready to build? Not a chance. It’ll be at least 7 or 8 years and won’t trust any of their concept art anymore because of their Tiana Bayou Splash Mountain.
I just don’t understand why can’t Disney just build a 5th park dedicated to villians call it Dark Kingdom the villian rouge for Disney is beyond crazy from yzma (emperors new groove)
@@TheNobleWay - Even if Disney were not strapped for cash, opening a fifth gate is rather pointless. Disneyland has more rides and attractions in two parks, than Walt Disney World has spread across four. The Orlando resort has proven that Disney more land than they know how to use.
@@TheNobleWay It could be a trial. If the new land does great, they may do a 5th theme park It may be Villians. It may be Marvel if they buy the rights from universal.
I'm curious how Disney is going to handle sight-lines for Villain's land. The concept art does look amazing, but how are they going to implement that huge Maleficent scenery? I know they can do it, and it will be interesting to see. I'm optimistic about the Villain's land and the amount of effort Disney may put into it because I think they know they have to go BIG, especially since I don't imagine them opening a 5th gate anytime soon to further (or better) compete with Epic Universe.
That’s also something I have been seriously wondering about also. Seems like they will have a tough time of it based on the art and location but we’ll see!
Disney is an expert on hiding sight lines between the lands! Expect universal may have learned from disney and did sight lines well in EPIC Universe - we will see this summer (And if they didn't learn shame on them, but it will be an excellent park either way).
How can you draw a comparison ? Epic universe is here Villains is a response on the well deserved criticism by shareholders. If it’s anything like the Epcot final product it will be rubbish

One advantage that Villains Land has is that the villains themselves will be able to interact with you on the streets as well as walk around the rest of Magic Kingdom.
Expect disney to make an indoor attraction like princess encounter, for the Villians to be in inside air conditioning so they can work longer than outside in the heat.

But loving the theme park wars and can’t wait to see what it brings.
Thank you! Yes totally agree - Universal definitely one-upped Disney whej they created Islands of Adventure and keeps doing so - lots of back and forth happening!
Totally entertaining video! Once Disney puts out more info, I'd love to see an updated take. I agree that Universal is doing "immersive" better than Disney, barely, but I actually think areas of Animal Kingdom and Cars Land may be some of their best examples (domestically), and Tokyo DisneySea abroad. Joe Rohde's "lived in" lands of Animal Kingdom are phenomenal...I wish he would be put in charge of making the area around Pirates of the Caribbean at WDW into a real lived-in pirate port of call -- Tortuga -- he would knock it out of the park. To fully defeat Villains Land, Dark Universe should "bring the rock work" when they do an expansion. They should build their own version of a dark, ominous mountain range, waterfalls, dark grottos...that's what Dark Universe will be missing in comparison. I'm not saying they should copy Villains Land, but the sheer scope of the Villains Land mountains and rock work may make a more dramatic place-making impression.

This is like asking if Frozen 3 or Avatar 3 is the better film (or declaring a winner or loser there) I know its a good idea for a video (your videos in general are great) but I think this one is being put out a few years too soon.
And given how Disney had promoted Galaxy's edge when that was in it's concept phase vs what it ended up being... I'd say there's an incredibly slim chance that the Blue Sky style concept art for Villains holds up😅 It'd be cool if they pull it off, but I'd consider that to be about as likely as the Oklahoma theme park(American Heartland) actually opening...
Or will Frozen 3 or 4 be better? I guarantee Frozen 3 will be first, and if it does bad the 4 may be cancelled or go to home video or straight to streaming/Disney+.
