When I was a kid growing up, I was obsessed with Universal Monsters. I read Frankenstein and Dracula and would peruse TV Guide to see if any channel was running them. Once in a while, our local movie theater, which was once an old Vaudeville theater, would run some of the Universal Monster Movies and my friends and I would go. I always dreamed of this. Now it's actually happening.

This is the land I am most excited for. Universal lists das Steakhaus as a quick service. I imagine it will be like the Three Broomsticks but I am hoping it will be a tad more elevated, it looks kind of fancy in the depiction. I have to say I felt exactly the same way about the HtTYD land. I have never even seen any of the movies but that land looks really cool. I can't wait to visit it.

As a horror fan, this is my most anticipated world! I literally can’t wait! I’m already thinking about cosplay options for a monster and a monster hunter character. And as a ride enthusiast I’m SO pumped for this ride!
Yes!! That’s what this land needs, lots of people dressing up and enjoying life (in the dark 🤣) and becoming part of such an awesome universe they’ve created in this land! The ride looks 🔥🔥🔥

This is in all honesty seems to be the best Land of the 4. Just cuz the fact that it’s something that we have never had before ever in a theme park.

As the first local major new theme park opened post Covid, I’m super curious about how they may use some of these ideas and technologies to rethink and develop ride queues and any potential new and creative ways to alleviate the tedium of standing around, forced crowd interactions and scent mingling, and anger that baking alive in Florida always generates. One of the biggest negative experiences of theme parking.
🤣🤣🤣 good call Dustin - that’s the truth! They’ve definitely been testing lots of things like facial recogniztion and tapu-tapu at Volcano Bay so we’ll see what they have in store for us. One thing is for sure - they are actively trying to solve some of those problems!
Saying this with sincere hope and optimism that they will do something different for ride queues in a positive new way.
The Frankenstein ride has no screens its just animatronics apparently, great update! 😊
It didn't say anything about not having screens. There are a handful of screens in the attraction. But they're not going to be noticable and the one or two that you can notice they will have the character on them and come through the screen in animatronic form. It's something no one has ever seen done before.

I heard that they was using screens more for background but who knows I like that dark rides keep thyey mystery

I am so excited for the monsters ride it in some ways reminds me of Curse of Darkastle.. I was bummed that got removed. I'm sure this one will be even better knowing Universal.
I am beyond hyped for Epic Universe, and especially for Dark Universe. I’ve been obsessed with the Classic Universal Monsters for a long time and this looks like the perfect land for people like me. I just can’t wait for this to open, particularly for the meet and greets because I _really_ want to meet The Invisible Man, he’s my favorite classic monster of all time

I can't wait for epic universe to come to life and hopefully me and my family would go there,also i feel like it would do much better than Walt Disney world by far plus you get to meet all the cool characters like Dracula, invisible man,wolf man , Frankenstein,the mummy and many more again I can't wait.

Universal has really out done themselves i dread to imagine how much the monster unchained ride alone costs and it has me even more excited for universal great Britain since it will probably be universals next big project after epic universe
Yeah feel like it had to be very expensive - maybe not Rise if the Restance expensive but pretty high - heck maybe even more - we’ll see!

with this new park, universal studios, islands of adventure, city walk and volcano bay...as a uk traveller, id be quite happy to book 2 weeks and just do Universal! I want to do HHN so there is more than enough for a 2 week holiday for me without even thinking of disney 😊
I think so too Dave! Heck I could spend a couple of days just at Volcano Bay - love that water park. The fearless river is my favorite lol 🤣

Could be, the Hounds monsters hunters definitely feel like an homage to him and we could very well get an appearance at some point, though it feels more like the classic monsters are the heroes of their own stories in this land and the actual “good guys and gals” are sort of the villains 🤣🤷🏽♂️
I rode alien encounter as a little kid my parents had no clue how realistic it was I remember ducking down and sobbing because of the 4D effects i didn't expect anything like that 🤣

Thanks for the detailed breakdown! Both rides look great but I am hoping that the Manor ride will not induce a bit of nausea for some people. 😉 Regarding the music with Phantom of the Opera etc. I heard that Danny Elfman is composing the score for this land. Have you heard this? That would be awesome! Thanks
I’ve hear that rumor as well but haven’t seen anything confirmed for certain yet!
EYE head that the reason they’re not blocking our peripheral view on the ride is because they are using less screens and more physical sets, of course there will be some screens but they will be used for background stuff, also that wolf man is DEFINITELY the animatronic!
Yes Eric that’s good to know! Definitely feeling like it’s going to be some combination of both giving us the most amazing immersion ever made using a screen/animatronic attraction. Can’t wait! 🔥
I am glad you mentioned the catacombs . I was intrigued by that too. I was assuming that it had a vignette / something like the windows in Diagon Alley but if you can actually enter it that would be amazing!
Hey Heather - yes definitely. Really hoping it’s some sort of cool walkthrough and not just a display of some kind. Having another Knockturn Alley would be really cool but I know that’s a big ask. We’ll see!

I wonder how much more immersive the Dark Universe area will be for people that get the makeup experience.
Will Das Stakehaus have special experiences for people that get vampire or werewolf makeup, for example?
Great question! Really hoping so - similar to when the evil queen at Disneyland sees someone dressed as Snow White or whej Kylo Ren sees someone with a lightsaber in Galaxy’s Edge! Would be awesome! Imagine a vampire in Das Stakehaus be served by their familiars - they should be bowing and reverent to you. Totally cool - hadn’t even thought of that! 🙌🏼🔥🔥

Wait, isnt there a shouldner harness on that Harry Potter ride?! Ive been on it once and I remember it had like very limited space for bigger people. They had a sample seat outside with that harness. 🤔 It did tip backwards so it would need that. So why do you think this ride has to be crazier?
It did yes! This new ride will also have them even without the ceiling of the ride vehicle!

The whole thing looks perfect. This is so on bucket list unless Putin nukes us first. I will have to scale down on travel costs and in general but I've already been to both of those many times and I'm pretty certain this is going to be the most amazing place. Pretty much guaranteed. I wonder how long it takes to ride all the rides.. I'm guessing 3+ hour wait for everything, one builder said they expected to take a whole week there and that isn't even factoring in any re rides. Yeah, Disney crushed.
