Interviewed in public by Disneyland CM. Denied DAS pass even though I’ve been getting it for 3 years. I was diagnosed with MCI with Aphasia (ie; the Bruce Willis disease). I missed out on getting a Magic Pass which I should have gotten instead due to the fact I now how to schedule 2-3 at vacations at DL. I cannot do long stays at the Parks. Now if I want to ride ANY attractions I have to “schedule my days,” This is maddening as I can’t use that frikking app anymore!!! So I wander around, eat, shop, but rides are all but gone for me.
Imagine having to stutter out: “Yes, I have Dementia. It makes me flustered having to manage this app. I cannot tolerate dark, tight places, with piercing noises. Especially when the waiting is over 35-40 minutes. I need to have abilities to just keep my day open.”
I was given a Wheelchair for the day.
I was alone on my trip.
My days going to theme parks are almost over.

@@LillyLaRose I'm so sorry 💔 it's not right and it breaks my heart for everyone who's getting denied. I've never been to Disneyland and I don't know how the app is different but the Lightening Lane multi pass and all the other versions are a horrible replacement 💔

@@TheDisneySlowdownI have been thinking when AP’s become available again early next year for DL, I may start a channel just for those who travel with early diagnosed Dementia and for their caregivers. Specifically for D related diseases who are still mobile and coherent who are “starting “ to experience difficulties. Most stuff on TH-cam is all geared to autistic and physically disabled people. I can still technically recognize things in my environment, but I have some inappropriate behaviors like growling in line if I get frustrated 😩 and upset. Low frustration and anger/anxiety and anger tolerance. I can handle myself right now, but in a few years that might change. I can “do” the parks and drive back home but I know others like me are out there and how are having trouble, like early onset dementia, or problems with post-Covid cog-fog and the like.
Just would need some help starting up a channel like this. 😊

When I was a kid, I would go a few times with family. Back then DAS didn't exist. If you wanted a disability return time, you got it from a cast member at the ride. And, when you came back, you were taken to the exit to get on the ride.

Hoping I don't have any issues, going for a day in February. Got approved last time and been approved for the IBCCES card and Universal's pass with a doctors letter I have on hand so hopefully that helps. Been avoiding the parks for years due to anxiety and panic disorders and only went 2 years ago for the first time in about 20 years because i found out about the DAS at Disney and AAP at Universal.

Be sure to scope out some getaway areas. I did a video on that topic, I hope that helps ❤ Good luck when you do your interview

It's too hard too get. I have a back problem called Kyphosis and I can't stand for a long time without my back hurting me. That caused me problems when I wanted to ride Rise of the Resistance. If it would just be a single lane line like it should I wouldn't have this problem. But they think since I am mobile then I don't need one. Hollywood Studios is the hardest park to get one, mostly at consumer service up front. I did get one at the smaller costumer service near the ride. A couple of years ago I had no problem getting one at Magic Kingdom and luckily that was my second Disney Park so I could use it had Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

They were testing a single rider line for Rose a few months ago. I'm not sure why they stopped. Frankly, all the popular attractions should have a single rider line but then that would cut into Disney's profit from selling lightning lanes 🙄

I had the DAS when it was GAC and before that. We just got back from WDW and of course I was denied DAS even though I have everything from limited mobility (scooter at park) to coronary artery disease , a bleeding disorder and an autonomic nervous system disorder amongst several other disorders . The lines and stress caused my BP to go to the highest 212/102 one day. The cast members had no clue about alternatives! It was constant explanations, AND we even bought LL for everyone available to make it easier. We’re 2 of the Passholders who are giving it up. The stress is just too great anymore. I’ve been going to WDW since June 1973 and it’s just too much of everything (money, stress, planning) anymore.

That hurts my heart 💔 I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. It's not a vacation if it's so stressful you can't enjoy it. There are more relaxing places to vacation ❤

yeah none of that sounds like waiting in line is the big shocker to your system
      the line is accessibleto you
you have the same right to wait in that line as anyone else

Hopefully, they’ll be able to change the system soon with the disability access service set up people don’t have to worry about having to wait in line for a long time so I just wanted to let you know hopefully, they’ll be able to change that again here as soon that’s been going on for the last six months people have been really upset about it and not being able to do that so hopefully they’ll be able to get it all fixed and get it all straightened out
